Going to try one of these later today the ASV2. I like the idea the better emulsifying atomization affect. Better fuel dispersion in chamber and better flame travel etc.
I have a 72 F350 I’m trying to get ready to take on a trip from CA to Arkansas. It had the original YF on it which I was only able to get about 10 mpgs out of. I replaced that with an edelbrock 500cfm and was able to bump that up to 13 mpgs. I read about the annular boosters on the avs2 so I decided to give it a try. I’ve been able to get 18 mpgs out of my truck and I’m sure I can get more. I’ve got some more tuning to do and get an overdrive put on it. Should be over 20 easy.
Great info Jeff. I actually learned from this video I almost always use a Holley carb because I'm familiar with tuning one. I'll definitely try an Edelbrock soon. Thanks!
Ive been running the AVS for a couple years now. It really is almost like fuel injection. Great mileage, the throttle response is razor sharp and I never have to adjust it to keep it in tune.
Does anyone know if the annular jets perform differently with a 2" carb spacer? I'm doing an install this weekend. Need the spacer for the air filter to clear the MSD ignition on my 302.
Hello great video i have a 57 coupedeville 365 and now i want to upgrade to a edelbrock which size do you recemand a 500cfm avs2 or the 650 avs2 its a have car
I have a 350 Oldsmobile engine with a 7111 intake, 6051 heads milled down for 10 to 1 compression, electric fuel pump and a hydraulic roller cam with 226/232@.050, on a 110lsa, with 555/.560 lift. The engine should be pushing around 425 hp and 450 ft Ibs of torque. The car will be mainly driven on the street but I will also be taking it to the strip. I was wondering if the 1913 (800cfm) AVS2 carb should be able to do this?
Dameon - sorry for the delay - Iwas on teh road all last week riding in a '31 Model A roadster across country! I think the AVS 2 wouild be a good choice. The limitation on this carburetor isn't cfm but the fact that it is only a incle fuel inlet. I've seen these carbs begin to falter at around 425 to 450 hp because they can't get enough fuel into the float bowls through the single needle and seat assembly. So with yoru 425 hp power estimate I think this carb is a great idea.
Great video and info thanks man you are awesome. I have simple question here please. I have an stock 6.0 LS motor What cfm edelbroock Avs2 make it runs great I do need to go with?? Thanks an advance
I saw a guy with one of these on his square body Chevy 350 and his video shows the truck starting immediately on a cold start! I have a 72 corvette 350 4 speed and would love for it to start up immediately on a cold start, would this carburetor help make that happen?
I think the 650 would be a good choice - the LS engines have much better cylinder heads that flow more air and consequently can use the additional size. I thikn you would be very happy with that.

@@jeffsmith2003 that is a great reason! Thanks Jeff. Enjoying the podcast, as well!

Very cool! Keep us posted on how that start up goes.
Great stuff, keep it up!
Jeff if you know how to modify a Qjet you can Adjust the primary needles W/O even shutting the engine off.
What size to run on a 4.8 LS?

@@jeffsmith2003 Thank you. I also have a FiTech TBI I'm considering using. Do you have any comments or experience with these?
@@jeffsmith2003 Found a deal on an 800 cfm. Too much? Comes with jet kit.

What the fuck do the ports do on the front of the carb. What’s what? Waste of time
Watch your mouth boy. Google edelbrock ports.
Left one is ported vac , right is manifold vac
