Can you play music WITHOUT hearing your instrument?!

This was in response to a viewer who asked how it was possible that musicians in the past wrote music without having a program that plays back what they were writing. I ended up improvising without being able to hear my keyboard at all to demonstrate that it could be done.

Dude honestly I kinda like that idea 🤔 I wish my piano technique was better because that would be a serious struggle for me lol I could definitely do that for guitar though

I kinda have! lol I've recorded myself playing guitar while blasting a totally different type of music in my headphones to show that you should have the sound of what you're playing in your head

Very cool. Unfortunately i don't think i could do that I'm awful at reading sheet music. I can only play purely from listening and watching the music first then i can memorize it or match it.. i only play guitar, violin, and flute. I've learned 3 songs on the piano. Love listening and watching people play the piano and things but not myself lol. Love your music and your videos.

Honestly I bet that if you put a good amount of time into it you could, especially if you're already able to play music by ear on multiple instruments!
