I store my big four patterns in old boxes that have previously had photocopier paper in. I get them from my old work office. They fit in upright and you can put the lid on top so they can be stacked. For those I have downloaded I print off a picture and tape it to the front of a large envelope with all the bits inside and these are stored in magazine boxes and these can be stored on the book case in the bedroom I use for sewing. I have a narrow 'chest of drawers' which has a number of shallow drawers in that I inherited when my mum died and in it I keep reels of thread, various zips, seam binding, lace. I tend to only cut out one project at a time so don't need to store that. I have a large box which fits under the bed that I keep various interfacing in and fabric I use to make bias binding. The rest of my fabric 'stash' is kept in a chest of drawers in the bedroom I use. I'm lucky that my children have long left home so this is one of the spare bedrooms in my house but still doubles up as a bedroom when the grandchildren visit.
Like you, I store my patterns in boxes. I sort mine by garment type and by fabric type. So some are under stretch and some are under wovens. I find this works really well. My PDF patterns are stored in brown envelopes from Pattern Trace. I can write details of the pattern on the front and any modifications that I have done. I only have one project on the go at one time. Diana
hiya, sorry for asking a year later but I’ve just seen this post lol plzzzz can I ask u what is Pattern Trace & if it’s a website that print of ur patterns would u mind sharing it plzzzz hun 😁 thanks in advance xx
I’ve only resumed sewing recently and use almost exclusively PDF patterns. I hate folding them and have tried clipping them together and stacking them in a drawer. But it’s not a great solution. This inspired me to order some 13” x 13” plastic scrapbook envelopes. Hopefully the larger size will work well and not require as much folding. Stay tuned …
I mostly use pfd patterns and I store them in large carton envelopes with the line drawing, name, size in the same style printed on all of them. I've kept it up for new ones I have printed. But I have magazines (knipmode) vintage patterns (lots of 80s new look) and other (Dutch) patterns in every closet, cupboard, drawer of my house 😅
Fab tips! I really need to get better at storing mine 😂😂😂
We hope this helps! Thank you!

That sounds like a great system.
Great ideas. Thank you.

You could store those pockets in a scrapbook binder and have your very own book!

Labelled envelopes sounds like a good idea.
We love this idea!
I really liked the idea of organza bags, where can I get some? What pattern & fabric is your top Jo?
We can confirm the fabric being worn is www.minerva.com/mp/1247785/dashwood-studio-circle-line-rayon-challis-fabric-multicoloured&variant=1247757
Mine fall out of the cupboard 😂
