Hang in there...totally worth it. We had nightly sectionals after school, we had long practices, but it made us want it so much more! Still, more than 10 years later, we still talk about it.
Played this in college in 1998 on timpani. The Dance of the 1000 Demons had me confused w/those bars. 5/8? It was more from 5/3 to 3/5 on that. Anywho, I loved that piece as a whole.
My band is gonna play for the fall concert in October, so far it's not going so well. I know it will get better though. I'm 2nd chair clarinet so I have to play 1st part which has really super high notes in the 1st part of the piece.
It's funny reading the comments about 6/8 to 5/8, my highschool band is doing Flight of Valor which goes from 6/8 to 2/4 to 9/8 in a span of 3 bars, it's all a matter of knowing the timing to a T, I play progressing bass for fun so you just get used to it
I played this song before with my secondary school band. I played the trumpet. LOVED it........

Played this in my last year of Junior High....We worked our butts off to prove ourselves worthy of it!
