    Bunnings has some galvanized gutter guard that you can use to make attractive lids easily and cheaply. Water also blocks UV light so make sure the light from the UV bulb overlaps the heatlamp to simulate sunlight because the turtles will absorb most of the UV light while basking. Also "turtle toppers" are a cool way to keep some tank space while providing a sheltered place for the turtles to bask. I couldn't find any in Australia so I made my own but I'd be interested to see if they'd ever be something you'd consider stocking Paul.

      I haven’t seen any commercial tops for basking platforms over here but Australia does seem to have a very small market compared to a lot of other places for importers. Definitely easy to make though.

    Question… I have a long neck that due for a tank upgrade. Problem is he’s to big for a floating dock. I was thinking about using bricks but I don’t want to do anything that’s unsafe. He’s 10 and a big unit. I need something heavy and about 30cm or more. Any ideas?

    • @paulstingray
      @paulstingray  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup
      You can build a dock on top of the tank with a cage around it… if your local I can show you with a quick drawing in my shop.

    • @paulstingray

      8-9 foot in the wild
      Largest bony fish in the world.very weird someone would try and rehome one if its only around 2 foot knowing how big they get.
