FUN FACT: When Em says he's been driving around your side of this town for 9hrs and 45hrs now, that was the length of his whole discography up until The Marshal Mathers LP 2. So Mathew basically drove round listenin to every Em album before kidnappin him. Lol

it’s sad you guys didn’t know the whole story of this song. bad guy is told from Stan’s little brother, Matthew. he kidnaps eminem and wants to kill him for all the wrong he did, focusing on his homophobia since Stan was into Em maybe because he was gay. The voice change signifies Em realizing he’s dying and coming to terms with all the wrong he’s done and facing up to it.
I absolutely love the fact that there are a few people out there that know this. This song hit HARD in my high school years bein a young Em fan
I personally don't think Stan would have been self-reflective enough in 2003 to know whether he's gay. At the least he has a pregnant girlfriend.
I think Stan reads Em's bars so literally, and worships him enough that he probably was homophobic on the surface (doesn't rule out him being closet-bi or unrealised gay)
To me it reads as it's Matthew who's openly gay, and has spent a decade or so seething over Em's homophobic bars, made worse by what happened with Stan
The switch up on the last half of this song is one of my absolute favourite musical moments from Eminem, it gives me goosebumps every single time.

This is actually the sequel to his song “Stan”. Stans little brother, Matthew, goes to find Em, kidnap him, tie him up and put him in the trunk and kill him (like His brother Stan did to his wife). This is all from the perspective of Matthew until it goes into Em at the end. Honestly tho, I love the way he tells this story and how everything is connected 🔥
I forgot how dope this song is, and pretty sure most people have. Em has so many genius songs, people just naturally forget, but if he's not the GOAT, then goats don't exist.
When he said "I've been driving around for 9 hours and 45 minutes now" that was the totality of time for all his albums up until that point 🤯

Yeah, 100% headlights. Some of eminems songs are almost part 2's, or continuations of stories, or responses to others, which don't always make sense if you don't know any backstory!

Can I just make this suggestion, all of Eminem’s albums tie in together so if you’re going to start down the Eminem rabbit hole you may want to start at the beginning so you will understand all the references and just how genius this man really is... this is stans brother coming back for revenge on Em.

This is a sequel to Stan...its amazing because at first it seeme like Eminem is rapping about his dad who left...but then the perspective changes and you realizr its Stans younger brother all grown up rapping about Eminem and trying to get revenge for his brothers death. This is next level storytelling in hip hop.
Okey, here we go☺️☺️ Stans littlebrother was Mathew. This is Stans littlebrother comming to revenge Stan. There are theories that Stan was gay, because he said "we should be together", in his letter. Stan was released in 2000 and Mathew was 6 years old in the song. The guy who broke into Em's house was a guy called Mathew. He was 26, and it happened in 2020😦😦😦 "Bad guy" was released in 2013, which makes it even more freaky😲 and yes, Em recieved a lot of backlash for his lyrics. He music was banned and there were people protesting him in the streets. He shocked them all, when he performed Stan live with Elton John (who is openly gay). Elton saw Em's music for what it was.. art. He thought the idea of Em being homofobic was ridiculous. They are still close friends and Em calls him "uncle Elton" 😊... And by the way, the; "I hope Eminem donates his brain to science" had me rolling😂😂😂

Really loves this reaction and conversation. This is one of Eminem's best songs of the 2010s era. Considering it came out before a fan broke into his home; i guess Lex is right, he is psychic.
There's are many great suggestions in the comments but one i'd like to suggest to do soon would be "Untouchable" (Official lyric video) the first single from the album that Brad mention was panned by critics 'Revival.' Many fans of Eminem including myself love this song but a professional hater like Joe Budden called it Eminem's worst song ever when trying to insult him and beef his way off Em's label without finishing his deal.
It's also the kind of song Tom McDonald would criticize him for due to the subject matter. Whether you agree or disagree with it everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions and i think it would make a great reaction.

Eminem has been able to bend words that at face value does not rhyme. An example of this is Orange and Four Inch. At first, it does not rhyme. But by Saying it a certain way, it will sound like it rhymes.

This is one of the best songs em ever did brad look into your thoughts from early em and think about how he's going in on the state of the game now. Eminem rhymes in a very strategic way. He reads the dictionary like all the time he may as well have it memorized. He tends to rhymes syllables moreso than just words. But when you take his lyrics bar by bar and disect it there are quite often double and triple entendres. Basically he's a word genius and he rhymes differently based on the flow of the song and the songs intent.
I would love to watch a reaction to “brain damage”, “when I’m gone” and “headlights”.

Ooof, this IS a sequel to Stan. I forget how a new generation didn't grow up with Em and don't know the timeline of all his tracks and what the refences are. It's not a knock on you guys, love you two, you're great!! it's just better to discover Em in order as his career goes on through the years because he's so personal and he takes you on the journey of his life and what he is thinking from album to album. It comes off so reflective because this is the sequel album to the original album that "Stan" was on so after all these years he's reflecting on all the stuff he's done that may have affected ppl negatively during his journey with rap fame and letting us know that he does battle with this stuff the more he's had time to think about it over the years. The fact that somebody would break into his home years later makes this a lil more eerie 😂

He was always criticised from day 1 about his homophobic massages in his lyrics. That is why Elton John stepped up later to tell layman he is not homophobic, he simply uses these words to cuss... he calls his father faggot in "cleaning out my closet", but he doesn't refer to his father as he loves guys or any sexual meaning. He was raised in Detroit , that is how it worked there. That is how he speaks.

First 2 versus are from Stan's brother, Mathew Mitchell's perspective, and the third is his conscience. Years after this came out Mathew broke into Eminem's house allegedly to kill him. This album was going to be his last at the time. The only albums that were 'poorly received' are Relapse, which seems to be a more personal low point, and Revival. Both of these are platinum though.
This was from the standpoint from Stans little brother.
Eminem is a very good story teller so just keep that in mind when hearing any song from the album Relapse and from MMLP2

And the robbery at Em’s ironically happened after, and that guys name was Mathew too which is just wild coincidence. Almost feels like Stan story actually happened.

It's not about the breakin, tbat happened in april last year and this song is from the MMLP2 (however the intruders first name IRL is Matthew🤯).
First part of the song is from the perspective of Stans little brother (that got the autograph on the starter cap in "Stan") Matthew.
Last part is Ems own thoughts on his impact
