Why is it that out of 25 people including 6 strait A students, a teacher, and a private tutor, that you are the only person who can explain this stuff in a way that makes sense. Thank you. Your videos are amazing.
oxygen is diatomic, which means you never find it alone when it's BY ITSELF. so you have O2, you don't just have O. but if that oxygen is connected to other atoms (in water, it's connected to hydrogens) then you don't worry about the diatomic stuff. it only matters if you have oxygen (just O) and nothing else, then it will double up.

when you're deciding ionic vs. covalent, don't worry too much about electronegativity at first. just remember that ionic is always metal and nonmetal, and covalent is always nonmetals with other nonmetals. so for copper oxide, copper is a metal and oxygen is a nonmetal, so it has to be ionic.
When one has a passion for a certain subject and has the gift of teaching well, the result is a man like this. You taught me in 9 minutes what my college professor couldn't in one week. Thank you!
Thank you so much for these helpful videos, Tyler! I've honestly learned a lot more about Chemistry here than my actual Chemistry classes. You make everything clear and easy to understand, unlike my Chemistry teacher. Once again, thank you! I really appreciate your videos! (:
These videos are so useful on so many levels. The lessons are clear and systematic. I have learned so much more from these videos than my actual class..

I failed chemistry the first time i took it because i didn't understand the basics that the kids in my class already knew from high school. Your videos have saved me. I got an A on my last unit quiz and am looking forward to another. Thank you for taking the time and posting these videos. You have absolutely changed my mind about me ever understanding chemistry. Thank you!

I never thought watching TH-cam videos would help me more than actually studying out of a book. Thank you SO much for these videos! They've helped me understand so much!!
I've been studying this for my open uni course and honestly, I've read over it so many times and could not understand it. Watch a 9 minute youtube video and it makes perfect sense.. Thank you so much!
Excellent explanations! I tried to explain a lot of this to my son but since I am not very good at teaching, I showed him your videos and he understood. Thank you. You have a great smile BTW!

Hey Tyler! I just wanted to thank you for posting such wonderful videos! You've helped me so much with my chem class and have helped me bridge the gap from what I know and what my chem teacher is trying to teach me. Please keep posting more videos!
You literally have the best learning channel on TH-cam. You cover all the materials in chemistry and you have detailed videos on everything. Subbed. Thank you!!
I'm using your videos with my extension Year 8 class and they find them clear and easy to understand. You make complex, abstract concepts so accessible to these young, bright minds.
Im learning this again in school as a 38 year old and this probably took my teacher 2 hours to explain to us and you did it better in 9 minutes. Thank you!
I spent my entire Saturday at chemistry lab and left feeling so defeated and truly feeling like I'm just not smart enough to get chemistry. Maybe I should change majors etc.. But I came home and tried again by watching Tyler's videos and feel like I am capable of understanding chemistry. Like. .. there is an emotional component to learning and being able to learn wholly. I wouldn't be able to pass my chemistry if it wasn't for this channel. I wish all chem professors were like Tyler.
what i like about your teaching is that you don't make complex and difficult to understand. your methods are great and are helping me a lot to fully comprehend chemistry.
Khan Academy should hire you......they complicated things in Chemistry, make it harder for others to understand, and always don't talk about the main points....but you simplified the complication, made it easy for us to understand, and always talk about the main points, amazing teacher, you are a life savior!!!

good lord some teachers can't teach. I was with my teacher today trying to get a better understanding of this in college chemistry and he basically kept on reciting text book answers. I can and have read the text book just fine, but if it isn't clicking it's the teachers job of breaking it down a bit more so its understandable. You sir just saved me like an entire hour of studying the way you broke it down.
