Similar story in that I met a girl in BKK. We had been on two dates. I ended up with food poisoning one day. I briefly mentioned it to her in a chat and within a couple hours on her own accord she went to the chemist to get me medicine, went and grabbed food for me, and bought it over to where I was staying. I didn’t ask for any of this. No way here in Australia that a woman would do that for you after a second date. No chance at all. Again I wouldn’t expect anyone to but was amazed at how this Thai girl wanted to make sure I was ok.

I identify with Paul. I was born and raised in Manhattan. Downtown, in the art world. ANd I spent my life between NYC and Los Angeles. And now that I'm older, my sons in LA are adults and I'm looking after my folks in CT a block from the Atlantic I realized I can't go back to New York or Los Angeles. There's no where else for me to live in America. A series of events got me to this point. My father passed on a couple weeks ago. Other events the last two years. And now all I want to do is get to Bangkok. Back in 2020 I was living through the Los Angeles lockdowns and I got a TV and started watching YT travel videos. Almost immediately the Thailand videos were all over the feed. And I realized I wanted the beach and the city. I wanted a city like the city of my childhood. Noisy, chaotic, full of New Yorkers, etc. NYC is not full of New Yorkers today, they're all little trendy kids that think spending a fortune eating in bad restaurants means they've arrived. It really is not where it's at. And America has lost her soul. The spirit of America is in tatters. I look around and feel I don't belong. And I'm 14th generation New England and New York. My ancestors literally built Manhattan and Brooklyn and Long Island and Rhode Island and everywhere along Long Island Sound for 400 hundred years. ANd I do not belong here anymore. There are two countries I have loved since childhood: Thailand and Japan. I'm finally in the process of selling everything I own. Looking at a flight into Bangkok late October. My mom has a big house but her second husband, who she divorced some time ago, has returned and is also living at the property. They can look after one another while I build something for myself in SE Asia. And hopefully my two sons can join me there and realize their dreams too. From here on out my life is dedicated to the dreams of childhood. The imagination of the boy brought forward to be true purpose in the here and now. And that requires going to Bangkok. Only people that have done it understand it. I'm really glad I revisited some of the great Thailand channels this last year. I am finally making it happen. Any advice on flying from the North East is appreciated. I'm thinking the cheap flight to San Jose and the cheap Zip Air flight to Tokyo and one to Bangkok might be the best way. Or the long way around the other way works too. Thanks again.

This is a great interview. Im Thai, and foreigners will never truly understand Thai women until you:
    1. Learn how to speak fluent Thai.
    2. Understand how she was raised.
    3. See how much her family has influence on her.
If I Thai girl who is close to her family. They have a say who she marry.

Back in 2003, I applied, and went through numerous rounds of interviews, and was hired by one of the largest international law firms in Bangkok to proof their English briefs and filings. Starting salary back then was 85,000 Baht a year with 150,000 annual bonus. Raises were between 20,000 - 30,000 a year. Three years in, I was making 145,000/month. If you have a Schwab bank account in America they will refund 100% of all foreign ATM fees. So in the example given in the podcast withdrawing a $100/day shouldn't be an issue as long as your bank in the US has no foreign transaction fees and refunds foreign ATM withdrawals.

@1:02:00 Surely the point of the 90-day tourist visa forcing a 'visa-run', is to 1) make you be present at a border outside the country where they can reject your entry. 2) force you to submit to periodic review. If you're in thailand and not doing anything to cause any red flags, maybe they don't really care that you've been there for 5 years.

Yes, there are many ladyboys out there that are no problem at all (probably most of them). In regard to visa, you just need to apply for a re-entry permit (single entry or multiple entry). It can be done at immigration building or the airport for departure from Thailand.

Just in regards to business, if you now stay in Thailand for more than 180 days a year and you have an income here or overseas you are considered a tax resident and must register and pay tax. This came in on Feb 2024 so you may want to look at things like double taxation treaties etc.

    • @tronwars7130
      @tronwars7130 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@HisHimmer It's no issue get a tax number in Thailand, already talked to a few accountants, for example, you maybe retired in Thailand and not working here but you may earn an income of investments or a company back in your home country so it's likely you may have to pay tax depending on the double tax agreements between Thailand and your home country if you are here for more than 180 days of the year. Like most countries it's self reporting, it's up to you to file a tax return. But if you don't and they check on you at some stage like other countries they may consider it tax avoidance and fine you or even deport you if you should have paid tax but didn't, no difference from the west in that respect. Immigration doesn't check taxes., that's not that job.

Genuine question… why are Americans so obsessed with race? “Asian American”, “African American”, “Italian American”, “Irish American” yet they’re multi generational Americans with absolutely no idea about the places they say they’re from. I’ve even heard one say something like “I’m one quarter Dutch, one quarter Irish, one quarter English…” with no sense of light heartedness, totally serious, and every grandparent was born in America.
The number of Irish people I’ve spoken to who rage about Americans who tell them “I’m also Irish”, is hilarious.

    • @OneNightinBangkok_

Understandable how it can seem weird. Many of us Americans are only a few generations removed from the “old country” and much of that culture/language/food/etc stays with us. Obviously it’s different from person to person, but this is the experience of myself and many of the people I grew up with. Also, it’s more prominent when you’re entire lineage is from one or two places, as opposed to “one quarter this, one eighth that”

First off men and women both have them, it's just usually - but not always - they are much less pronounced in women. But it's far from a given, I mean Megan Fox has an Adams Apple that's bigger than mine.
And secondly for women or ladyboys who have a pronounced one there's a very easy and common plastic surgery that 'shaves' it down so it's not noticeable
So this is the absolute last way to tell anything

I put no Lady-boys on my Tinder profile, my Tinder profile which was a paid account was deleted because Tinder said it was a violation of hate speech. As for paying money, never pay money on the first few dates, a coffee etc is ok just to check if they are real or not. But in general I get harassed by lady-boys online or in public. And the big problem is normal Thai girls get insulted if you ask them are you a lady-boy.

I’ve found that Thai lady-boys will usually tell you up front. They almost seem proud of the fact! Other places in the world, not so? But if you’re talking to a “girl“ on line and you’re not sure? Tell her your likes and dislikes and then ask what hers are. Once sifting through the responses you might have a better idea what you’re dealing with.

This podcast is hilarious. So marrying a bar girl is okay and honorable since they are misunderstood, but just renting them like they expect is looked down upon. Feminism really did a number to my fellow white American bros 😂😂😂 totally in the female frame
