Great thanks for the review! I've just ordered one after you answered my question before. I'm using it as I'm teaching drums online so will do the trick!
@@JimToscano I subscribed a while a go actually. After watching the video you did with Dave Weckl about his home set up I thought I would have a look at your channel. I'm a sucker for drummer's studio walkthrough's so I've enjoyed your videos.
Thanks for the review. I think im gonna pull the trigger and get this mic. I love my SM-57 but I tend to back away from the mic too much when I'm running the board.I need something that stays by my beak when I talk.
You mentioned you use a mic mute with this headset, which one? I'd like to pick one up. Never had one before but would love to be able to mute the headset on the fly.
I use the Whirlwind mic mute. Theres a desktop model and a foot switch model. Check out my kit.co site for links. It's under the kit called audio solutions. Cheers! : )
Hi Lee I believe this is more of a broadcast style mic. I myself don’t sing but I would be interested in hearing some feedback as to whether anyone has used it for singing. Thanks for the question!
@@JimToscano I actually had the headset plug into my mixer. Mic works great. But, was not able to hear myself in the headphones. Would I need to plug in the 6.35 along with the xlr?
I don't believe you would need a cloud lifter. This is a very quiet dynamic mic. The cloud lifter will increase your gain, but I think you can get a similar sound by playing with the gain and eq settings. Maybe this is a topic for my next video ! : ) Thanks!
Hands Down, best headset/mic combo I have ever used! 2nd mic I began using since beginning to teach on line last March! Thanks Jim
Thanks Pat!
Thanks i think im going to get this for sure
Glad I could help! And thanks for supporting the channel 🙂

Thanks Mike! When I do clinics I use the mic mute but when I’m teaching I don’t bother. Consider subscribing for upcoming content. Thanks!!!

@@MikeKeaneDrums thanks so much! I will have more interviews coming up soon as well!
They are awesome Jim. Glad you converted me

Yes it has been a life saver for me. Keeps my voice even and moves with me. Enjoy!

Honestly, how do you make your mic sound great? Or is this already edited?
This was shot with audio, so no editing. I am using a Focusrite Clarett 8 mic pre that sounds great. Thanks so much! 🙏🏼
Would you say the mic is suited for a singing drummer?

Are you able to hear yourself in the headphone as you speak?
Yes indeed and sounds great!

@@HARDCHARGER1011 yes you have to plug the xlr in for the mic and the 1/4” plug for the headphone return… what kind of mixer are you using?
@@JimToscano I have a PYLE 6ch studio mixer. PMXU68BT
I plugged in the xlr and 6.35 but, no voice from the mic in the headphones. I can hear a track when played. Very strange.
Would I need a cloud lifter with this mic if I’m on a rode caster?

Huh???
Um...I like this mic...lol
