    Thanks! Great review. I just purchased a BPHS-1 (and replacement ear pads) so that I could jump onto away hockey broadcasts when travelling with my team; as long as the home broadcaster has an open mic spot on the mixer ( I also carry a headphone splitter), I'm golden. I've always loved this model, there's real value in the AT headset mic (it has a great mic, it's remarkably durable and the cord which gets constantly tugged and stepped upon is easily replaced). Ironically, for my podcast, I just purchased a EV RE20 microphone (I'm in heaven) as shown in the video so this presentation was doubly helpful.

    If you were too upgrade from the Audio Technica BPHS1 what would you do buy the BPHS2 or go with a Sennheiser broadcast headset? :) I'm looking into getting Sennheiser HMDC 27 it's £449 a lot of money but I think the microphone mite be just as good if not better and the headset itself sounds better :)

    My complaint about the Audio Technica BPHS1 I purchased a while back is that mine makes a lot of noise. The frame is plastic and makes noise for every little movement even when the jaw moves to talk. It's annoying enough that I never ended up being able to rely on it. I'm curious to find out if others were ever confronted by this issue.

    We need a 1080p60fps usb camera guide for streaming. I have a Brio but it does not seem to cut it for me, not sure if I have a bad specific camera or Brio is just bad for 1080p60

    If you want to pick up one of the expensive Sennheiser broadcast headsets, be advised: These tend to come with unterminated cables, meaning you are expected to attach your own plugs.

    Thanks for great review. How well do these work connected to a computer and what kind of adapter is needed? They were recommended to me by a gamer/musician/teacher for online teaching. Lots of teachers (especially second language) right now trying to make themselves intelligible over Zoom, so would be great to hear from a sound expert like yourself.

    I had bought a pair of these before I really knew what I was doing audio-wise, and really didn't like how they sounded at all, so I returned them. At the time the price was pretty steep for me as well. Good review, though I gotta say, I preferred the unprocessed audio over the 286s processed audio (and I know you said the 286s was setup for your RE20) - just made you sound more hollow. Thanks for doing the review, though; I think if I ever have a need for a gaming headset, I'd definitely reconsider these or the Sennheisers as you mentioned - little bit $$$ though. :) Ah, one question for you - the audio during your narrative portion of the video (where it wasn't visible at all) - was that an under-the-shirt lav mic or something else? Did you have to do much post on it? Just sounded really great, nice and clear, and very natural looking not seeing any hardware at all (no cans or mic). Thanks!

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounded very good when I had the 286s tuned for it, just couldn't go back and do that in time for this review right now.

    Maybe a middle ground, between better sound quality and a good mic, since you talked about Sennheiser, would be their gaming line, PC373D and/or Game Zero, Game One etc series. I personally have PC363D but I use them without the included USB tiny sound card, more like I would use PC350SE, and they sound pretty good. I have the 595/598 HD but since I need too often a mic, I end up using PC363D as a "daily drivers", even if in some ways HD598 sound better, larger, more precise. If you have Massdrop, PC37X is even cheaper than the regular PC373D . Of course, there is always the Mod Mic, option.

    Personally I think the mic and the headset itself is absolutely amazing. But I don’t think it’s really worth 200 dollars. I could get lots of other microphone bundles. But hey whatever you decide, it’s your choice.

    • @NolanRempel
      @NolanRempel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 300 minimum now, thanks to scalpers sadly

    • @saitodosan9377
      @saitodosan9377 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My problem with it is that for 200 dollars you can get a really, really solid dynamic mic. And everyone has headphones anyway at this point. For 200 dollars, to me, this just sounds way too much like it has some sort of "digital" filter over the whole thing. Meanwhile I spent maybe 50-100 dollars more to get a standard SM58 setup on my PC and it sounds at least 50x better than this. Like this doesn't even sound as good as some 20 dollar gaming headsets I've personally tried out.

    How does the mic sound compared to the mod mic

  • @styledliving
    @styledliving 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the review. I just wish someone would make this into a bluetooth setup. I’d imagine that someone could easily cobble together a dynamic mic and a set of headphones, add an 18650 lithium battery powered bluetooth setup.
    Then I can work from outdoor cafes or stream from them as well during my remote work.
    People would buy these headsets in hundreds of thousands quantity.

    I think these kinds of headsets have a place but I would be really interested how they stack up against a pair of normal cans, like Fostex T50RP MK3, paired with a modmic.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well given that literally any good pair of headphones are better than these, specifying that isn't necessary xD

    • @noenken
      @noenken 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was more thinking about the microphone to be honest. Since that is what makes a pair of headphones into a headset, that has to be the point of comparison. If a modmic can get close, that combination automatically wins, like you said.
      What do think? Mic shootout? Out of box and with your DBX?
