You can't swap the wires on the headsets that are USB and XLR. The USB has a ADC built in to convert the analog to digital and send it to the PC and use something like OBS or XSplit to add software FX or filters. The XLR is meant to be driven via an audio interface or mixer and using external filters/EQ or filters to have more control over the signal, gain and so on. Plug and play like beginner streamers = USB. Professionals and you know what you're doing = XLR.
Great review. I’m currently looking for a headset but so far haven’t found one that I really like. I have the original M50x that I’ve used for years and I live them. But I need a headset with integrated mic. These new audio-technica have a few things that I don’t like: 1-why did they change the cable to a permanently fixed one? I like the fact that you can remove the cable on the regular M50x. It’s easier for transport and makes it possible to replace it in case it gets damaged. 2-I also wish the microphone was removable and not permanently attached. 3- would have been great if the also added wireless and Bluetooth even though it would mean paying a lot more.
May I ask if you would recommend this over the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 (2nd Gen) for both gaming and office calls use, since they are priced similarly from where I live? Thank you very much in advance.
Criminally underviewed reviewer. Let's get you higher. Subbed.
