Always happy to see Mark as somebody who also loves the destroyer aspect of the army, for a while he was the only person running 2 lokhust bricks (a list which I shamelessly copied). Nails how I feel about the current state of necrons too, they're obviously strong but in a very restrictive and not particularly fun way.
Only a few units are strong without the need to put a cryptek and an overlord class in it. Lokhust destroyer have the best data sheet in the index but has a very large table footprint. Warriors suck at 200 for 20, immortals are only a side grade to warriors instead of being heavy weapons infantry like they are supposed to be. Both need characters to be effective or live long enough to do something thanks to half the wounds per points as other armies and because ap0 or 1 and half the attacks as opposing armies comparable points. Perspectively on star shatter, the detachment needs to be effective since it's a free detachment that can be used by players getting into necrons that dont want to pay for the codex.
Also necron vehicles dont suffer from the reanimation tax(lower wounds and attacks) as much as the rest of the index so naturally a vehicle detachment where you dont need to run as many ineffective units is going to do better.
Advance and charge 100% needed for necrons, and access to fights first for lychguard and let more units be able to use crypteks besides warriors immortals and wraiths(techno only)

Yeah I love the Destroyers too! And I think he's right about the weird place the army is in.

Great insights, some food for thought!
Really glad you enjoyed it :)

Would definitely be cool to see the combat elements be more of a staple!
mark talking about dda. "if you roll bad and only do 8 damage to an enemy tank it feels bad."
kinda sums up how stupid good ddas are.
Hahaha, they're amazing!
