I have the 1953 in black and stainless. I wear it as my daily beater. Which ends up being the most wrist time of any watch I own. I like it. It is funny to me. I wear my cheapest watch the most. Not afraid to damage it.

I think watch selection is very personal decision. If you like it then that's all that matters.

I saw this one after I bought a different pro diver model. There good work horses, an affordable.
Not every new collector starts off with 500 dollar pieces.

I have the 31290 (Stainless 1953) and the 34333 (Batman version). These are keepers. Odd, mine are 13.9 thick.

"A true dive watch" has been individually tested to ISO 6425 or above and usually proudly includes the word "Diver's" on it, like most Seiko Prospex diver's watches. I know what you meant, but let's not confuse the viewers. Oh, great video!

So far, that’s the only Invicta that I like, reason why I got me one only recently, especially to go to the gym, the beach… where I don’t want to risk my Hamilton Khaki Field Auto (pretty much the most expensive watch I like and could afford).

It's very interesting that they are using the term "Combat." They now own Glycene, which is what Glycene calls their dive watches. I know, I own one. At least Invicta KNOWS Glycene won't take legal action against Invicta using "Combat." Nice review Jeff. I'll send you some Lemon & Honey for that Frog Voice.

They just refer to the all black colorway as combat. They've used that terms for years, even during their Shop NBC days.

Large cased watches are a matter of taste, and the needless bashing detracts from an otherwise okay review. Don't be a watch snob! Plenty of high cost, even million dollar brands make distinctive, unique designs and large sizes. That said, yes, this is a decently made watch at an incredible price point. I love mine.

    • @watchyouknow
      @watchyouknow  ปีที่แล้ว

A review is just an opinion. I used to like these oversized watches. In fact I think I own 10 of them. Just not my taste now. Check out the referred review I mentioned of my two largest watches...you may enjoy that one.
Yeah, no doubt the 1953 is worth the money...my opinion of course.😊

@@watchyouknow Will check those out, thank you, but bashing is not a helpful opinion, and comes across as attempts at just sucking up to tired Invicta negativity as some kind of snobby crowd pleaser, which is why it's ironic you then mentioned how it's not good to be a snob. 🤔
One could just say they prefer a smaller case size, rather than insult a larger watch as a monstrosity, just as much as one can say they prefer larger watches, without implying small wrists are just incapable of handling a masculine watch.
Again, just some thoughts as someone in the hobby for many decades, and one who has never seen the need for bashing, as opposed to just stating personal preference, which is all that it is anyways. There's no right or wrong to what people prefer, which is why the watch world is so diverse, and appropriately so.
Even case side branding is certainly not exclusive to Invicta and terming it as you did, again, just isn't accurate, since you are assuming reasoning that hasn't been demonstrated to exist.
In any case, it's just how it comes across and, yes, opinions, and that's just mine. 😁
The worn out Invicta hate tropes just get old, and very few are even accurate. The brand has its reasons for failing to earn respect within some circles (although it is lauded, and very frequently purchased, by many others), but case size and branding location are definitely not serious or even main issues with the company business model, in all honesty.
That being said, they remain nearly unbeatable in terms of value for money, and that's not debatable.
