    The new part was installed upside-down. I has a key that inserts into the receiving part that locates it in the correct orientation.

      Make sure you didn't install it upside down.

      @@zoejay It's ok, I flipped the car upside down as well and now it works fine.

    This video has really helped me brother. I have been wondering what’s causing the vibrations whenever I turn and I just checked and found that the dumpener is loose and almost falling out. I’m gonna head over to the Honda dealership and buy one.

    Hey! I just noticed that you installed it upside-down! that notch on the left of the screw matches the tongue on the side of the nut on the damper, making the 2 rubber "teeth" face up. (to make even less sense)

    I have a 2000 crv AWD and I’m getting bad vibrations while accelerating.
    I looked at my differential and there is no damper on mine. Just a nut on the left side of the mount. I’m wondering if the damper was possibly removed. That would be odd because that means a person would have to source the correct bolt, because the damper has a bolt fixed to it. Somebody please help me understand.

    • @joelatwar
      @joelatwar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Vibration while accelerating could be something else. That’s an issue I’m currently wrestling with. The dampener deals with vibrations while turning but it couldn’t hurt to get a new one and install it

  • @bluetorch13

    I need explanations on how it freaking works, its floating! I though I installed mines wrong, and it actually doesn't touch anything.

    • @joelatwar
      @joelatwar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it just sort of sits there right? I guess it absorbs vibrations all the same.

    • @joelatwar
      @joelatwar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had that at one point but it went away with topping off the fluid - but I hear that can be a symptom of a bad dampener.

    Is your car a manual or automatic? I don't think the damper is for the automatics from factory, but I've heard people still installing them anyway. I have an automatic and there is no evidence of it ever having one whatsoever.

    • @seanross1589
      @seanross1589 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@halfertyadventures9145 I did not. After doing more research, and just trusting the Honda engineers lol, I really don't think it's supposed to be used on the automatic transmission versions.
      If he's getting a clunking nosir from the back I would check the sway bar end links. I would also check the differential mounts (the rubber is often broken) that's on the top of the differential
      If you do end up putting it on his though, I'd be interested to hear how it goes.
