Thanks for your video! What is the meaning of မ. I understand it’s used to indicate a negative meaning along with bu. But why is it used in the sentence to also indicate ‘before’. Does it have a meaning in itself?

Welcome! Glad the video is helpful. As strange as it may seem to the English speakers, the use of the negative-marker မ is the standard way people refer to timeframes before a particular event. In a sense, Burmese speakers think of this timeframe as the time when the main event has not yet happened or occurred. Hence, the use of the negative verb.

I think the verb “အိမ်ထောင်ပြုတယ်” also means to get married. Can I say as follows to say, “before I get married”?

Thanks Kazunori-San! Yes, for "အိမ်ထောင်ပြုတယ်" (to get married), "before getting married" is "အိမ်ထောင်မပြုခင်" and "after getting married" is "အိမ်ထောင်ပြုပြီးနောက်" ... Hope it helps.
