    i would like to recommend giving a literal translation first such as "rabbit little crouching when". i think this is a better way of looking at the burmese sentence rendered in english and is helpful to understand the word order and structure of the burmese sentence. ultimately we are trying to understand the burmese directly without having to translate everything so i think the literal translation helps in being able to internalize the burmese. thank you မျတ်ဆရာ

    အခုညတော့ what is the purpose of the တော့ here?
    Is it used in similar way of ကတော့ ကျတော့ etc?i.e. For this night we shall light the lamps/ candles.?

      Dear Joseph: တော့ is used in many instances as a filler word, similar to the English word "though" or "just." In အခုညတော့ , it's roughly "Tonight, though, let's brighten things up ..." The first part of the lyrics was "ခါးသီးတဲ့ နေ့ရက်တို့ ..." (bitter days). So with the use of တော့ the singer is signaling he wishes tonight to be different -- hence, the use of တော့။

    Please is အပေါင်းအသင် used only in the written language vs သူငယ်ချင် for colloquial ?

      အပေါင်းအသင်း or မိတ်ဆွေ is a bit more formal than သူငယ်ချင်း but people do use them in daily conversation for sure.

      Hello! The Burmese script seems jumbled in the comment. Would you mind giving the words in question in Unicode Myanmar font, please? I'll see if I can answer your question.

      @@BurmeseLessons greetings from Taiwan 😁 For example, the word again ျပန္ seemed to be able to be written as ပြန္ as well?? I noticed the Q&A comment among student's comment and your reply. It seemed you recognised the ျပန္ is equivalent to ပြန္။ 😬😬😬😭Why ?? This is absolutely crazy.
      Another example such as င္ it seemed to be င် 🙄🙄😬

    Sir, what is the meaning of "ကာ" in ပြန်ကာဆုံမယ် ? is it a compound word?

    • @BurmeseLessons
      @BurmeseLessons  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dear Kay: grammatically, ကာ can join verbs. Here, it joins ပြန် (to do something again) and ဆုံ (to meet). But it's also just a filler word. People normally just say ပြန်ဆုံမယ် to say (will meet again) but for this song, ပြန်ကာဆုံမယ် works better for the beat and rhythm.
