My golf 1 is been mixing water and oil so gaskets have been changed so now the car starts but do not have power and it consume a lot of fuel what might be the cause?
Must be a timing issue..check it again

I now just chacked my distributor it doesn’t match with the mark you have shown on the video

One question: In my car there is a label with the wordind : BTDC - 3+/1. What means ?
Also I tryed to put my ignition timing as per the video, but the engine lost power, unless I ut in advance.
the early engine is set at 6° btdc with the vacuum advance line plugged.
The later engine is set 16-19°btdc with the vacuum line still connected.
@@prawny12009 Thanks for yours imputs. My engine code is BBV from south Africa, year 2003, VW Chico 1.4. The label in the car show BTDC - 3 +/1. Is this engine to be set up with vacumm pipe conected ?
