Really enjoy seeing all these technical behind the scenes videos from Jim. Looking forward to hearing more about the hybrid drive system and seeing the 85 afloat and underway. Keep them coming!
Great video. Looking forward to a more detail description of the Hybrid System. Particularly interested in range as well as how much fuel woudl the generator consume and how all of that compares to the diesel engine system. Love the videos, love the yacht, keep it coming.
Really massive displacement seen very well here. Hard to imagine ever even needing anything this gross tonnage but is what it is as well too amazing to see this realized therefore. Can't wait to see underway and in the hands of an actual customer even owner😮😮😮🎉🎉
two questions Jim as not that well up on this sort of yacht 1 so the stern thruster is only for the hybrid 2 what about through the hull sonar as you got a thick ally hull
Thank you for the questions. 1. Stern thruster can be fitted to any Arksen 85, not just the hybrid. 2. Through hull sonar - It’s a good question - currently we use conventional in-water transducers. There are in-hull transducers available, designed for aluminium hulls, however these are intended for thinner plating, so they are unlikely to be suitable for our boats. (We fit all transducers in water-tight cofferdams, for safety).
Yes a hull vane was a consideration, however after an extensive review of various options, it was decided that interceptors were the more appropriate option for our design.
The diameter is 305mm. We offer a tunnel bow thruster as standard and an optional swing-down stern thruster. We can potentially accommodate other types of thrusters to the owner's requirements.
@@arksenprojects I remember reading that they updated the load line length rules recently to try crack down on some of the "loopholes" ... any idea if that is really the case? and would that affect the LLL for this vessel if the keel was laid today?
@@aktxyz Thank you for your question. The Arksen 85 has been designed from the get-go, to be a sub-24m loadline length vessel, without any ambiguity. Tightening of regulations around this measurement has not impacted our design and is very unlikely to, given that we have the permitted

Thank you! We will be sharing more soon.
This has to be my dream yacht
Everything about this is well designed & engineered.
This is amazing, my new dream boat!

very nicely done ... love the recessed zincs

Those rough, protruding welds must produce enough drag to counter your efforts to produce an efficient, slippery hull!
was going to say...the offset panels 🤔?
This is shocking!
cant wait to see the engine room on this one! Is it a DC coupled hybrid?
The vessel has a series hybrid propulsion system, with a high voltage DC bus at its core.
@@arksenprojectshuge surface area on rudders with that design should create crazy amazing handling seakeeping characteristics as well.
Well done

Thanks for showing her. Was a hull vane an option at anypoint?

What is the diameter of front bow thruster? Do you offer a folding thruster?
The diameter is 305mm. We offer a tunnel bow thruster as standard and an optional swing-down stern thruster. We can potentially accommodate other types of thrusters to the owner's requirements.
Length Overall: 27.3 metres for the 85 what is the load line length for this vessel
The LWL is 26.06m
The load line length is 23.98m
