Very well done guys, Personally i would rather have a Single cab truck with a bigger Living box and a passthrough from the Box to the cab for Safety. The restoration you did on that old U1700 is very impressive.
There is more than one way to skin a cat but imp this is a lovely build. Myself personally, I would not need a DOKA but I would extend a single cab approx 500mm with extra windows in that extension, maybe a seat buy definitely space for my dog!! A double bed on hydraulics like this or even a permanent with separate dining area. A must would be a pass through. Still an excellent finish and a great lease of life on an older 1700l DOKA chassis. The driving cab is spot on all the tech that I think is need to get out and about after the tarmac end. Great build, nice concept and a good addition to the ARKSEN range of vehicles, maritime and land, to get out and explore.
Everything except that lounge/bed is awesome, I would do away with that lounge and have a permanent bed set up with storage underneath the bed for linen and whatever, making the bed every day would be a pain in the ass, love the whole truck and set up other than that but that is easily sorted, great video mate
1500 miles...across the US! LOL! You could leave say LA and get as far as Arkansas if you went EAST...you'd still need another 700 to 800 miles to reach the nearest East Coast city/town!
Even if you can afford that , where do you go ? Most countries in deep wilderness now are fought over by vested interests to control and exploit last available lands for resources and space. So next Unimog needs missile defence systems. Most governments are busy keeping their lists uo to date of countries to avoid traveling to , and your insurance will simply narrow that down further . So I just keep walking where it is still free and safe and I don't spend hours traveling to.😅
It's the off road capabilities...The MOG is the number 1 rated off road beast..No vehicle comes close and then comes the ego...it's the look... other than that I agree with you unless you're doing some crazy off-road traveling constantly and you don't care about people gawking at you like you're in a parade, lol this thing's really kind of impractical kind of Impractical for like a family of four to go to traveling and go to different state parks and camping. I mean it's really that would be a pain in the butt because there's just no place to put anything wait what about a really cool looking trailer to pull LOL
This style of Unimog has been around a lot longer than Unidan. Unidan themselves are influenced by Bliss Mobil, a European boatbuilder who make Unimog expedition modules. Unidan also happen to be the local importer of Bliss Mobil modules.
The later OM366 engines have a bit more grunt and the Claas splitter overdrive gearbox (not on this example) makes a lot of difference. UNIMOGS fear only long highway inclines and low bridges !

Yeah absolutely me too in that configuration
Simply marvelous ❤
I hope you’ve planned on being able to fit this on the deck of the 85!

Awesome truck! When do we get to see it in it's natural habitat?
the best unimog build ever, wish i could have a retirement life in one of these
Eu é que digo😅
For the price, that interior is diabolical
Well you can specify whatever you want doing this. But yes it's an expedition truck not a caravan.
Yeaa, here you can find some Mog-Friends as wel!!! ( Unimog Team Fitzen )
A beautiful machine

Great job! Why not a new unimog?
Perfect.
Electrics compartment looks a cut above the normal DC wiring bloodbath and the aluminium cabinets appear very fit for the corrugations.
It's very nice, but even selling one of my kidneys I suspect would not raise enough for me to buy it.
Sell 2
What are the dimensions of the habitat?
Thank you for asking, it’s approx 4.1m long and 2.3m wide. Approx 1000L interior storage and sleeps 4.
Price?

I noticed that little slip..lol... I was thinking , ya gotta knock out 900 miles just getting through Tx...still a sweet rig
Does anyone have an appx price for the best of everything.. I would guess between 175 and 200,000.... Close??
I’d double that from what seen with other fabricators.
Cool but super expensive, 525,000 USD.
Great, but who buys these things?
Who buys mansions or yachts or Bentleys or...

Looks 85% unidan to me....?
mount the spare on the rear - no freaking crane needed... FFS - you guys ever been off-road???
Almost no storage for a family of 4 - any partly integrated Vehicle beats this one by far - Take a look at the Hymer MLT-580 RSX
this is a unimog man....is Hymer able to go to himalaya

Most of these designs are copied from UNIDAN ENGINEERING. This business is just repackaging UNIDAN designs

5.7 for all that weight?
