I've been running that pre-axle MBRP on my '16 SuperCab for 5 years. There's really no drone at all unless I'm towing a trailer. Maybe the shorter cab makes a difference. Cold starts are a bit loud, but it's a nice loud. I constantly get compliments on how it sounds. Every now and then I turn off the radio and just listen to it rumble.
That sounds good me myself I like that drone I've had exhaust since I was like real little on every vehicle my father-in-law has an 05 Dodge ram has two flowmaster outlaws true dual no cats so loud you have to have the stereo up three quarters of the way
Haha that's awesome man! And yeah I've made this comment thousands of times at this point but I don't really have any drone so i don't even know what people are talking about with this particular exhaust on this kind of truck lol granted I'm coming from a whipple supercharged mustang with longtubes no cats and basically a Straight pipe so that thing has all the drone so comparatively my truck has zero drone lol
Same reaction here, all the videos made it sound like this was the quite option, and it's super obnoxious 😂 Apparently that's cause this is the "race" profile and the "street" ones come with a resonator.
Paradox muffler if the key to no drone . I had the same exhaust . Drone gets old especially with family in the car . Slapped a paradox muffler sounds way better with no highway drone over 75.
I have the same exhaust. But I have the street version that has the resonator which cancels out the drone. Yours sounds a bit deeper without the resonator. Enjoy the exhaust man.
Aww okay nice man! To be honest you could of gone with the same one, after driving it for a few weeks now it really doesn't even seem that loud at all 😂 its only really loud on cold starts and when you are really stomping on it lol
I just added the same style on my 2013 f150 5.0 is loud on a cold start im not a fan of the drone sounds i also noticed that my truck feel slower has anyone have that issue ??
Hmm that's interesting I personally didn't even have that issue really its gonna be loud on cold start just because you're freeing up all that exhaust but as far as loosing power I never had that issue
I suppose it just depends on what you're looking for sound wise. Personally I don't really have any experience with keeping any of the stock stuff on in conjunction with the mbrp muffler but i assume it would probably sound fairly similar but for me It was just easier to replace it all lol
@@planetstang1143 replacing everything was my original thoughts but I was going with a three inch pipe and watched a video or 100 and there's just so many options and routes to take I started thinking well hell I can keep the factory 3inch piping and just add the bypass instead of a whole new setup with resonator and what not but anyway I certainly appreciate you taking time to respond to my question. 🙌💪
Aww okay I gotcha, well it sounds like either way would be a good option then cuz i don't think my truck comes with 3 inch from the factory 😅 but yeah man of course! We reply to every comment we get to try to help with any issues or questions people may have!
Actually not at all the truck doesn't really drone at all, if im being honest half the time I forget I even have the exhaust installed unless I roll my passenger rear window down lol and no the bass doesn't ever clash either
@@planetstang1143 nice. All the other videos are this exhaust make it sound like it's way too loud and obnoxious. Yours makes it seem a little more tame. I was thinking between this setup or the flowmaster outlaw extreme turned down set up
Aww okay gotcha. Yeah if you want it tame then I would go with the mbrp its loud when you want it to be and quiet when you need it to be lol at cold start its alittle loud at times but as soon as it warms up you can barely tell. Like I said before driving around sometimes I forget I even have an aftermarket exhaust system until I floor it lol
Hmm weird I do know you have to trim the main pipe going back to the muffler to the correct size depending on the truck for it to fit but the pipes going out just takes alittle messing with to get it to work correctly
Well If I'm being honest with ya, I just didn't have a way to record back then when I recorded this to show the full install with every detail but I believe I show the gist of how it goes on
Its not a 10 speed 2018 and newer trucks get the 10 speeds although it gets zero drone on the highway at cruise you only hear it when you hit the gas really

Yeah same with me man its a really good bang for your buck exhaust and checks all the boxes for sure!
I like the drone sound.

Yes very true!
I just ordered a cat back for my f-150 5.0! Same style except for the black finish but it is stainless! Thanks for sharing tis video!
Aww okay nice! And thanks for watching glad you enjoyed the video!
I put the same set on but stainless 2 weeks ago. 2018 5.0. It’s insane. Absolutely love the look and sound of the exhaust!!
Aww okay nice glad you like it! I think it sounds killer as well!
“I’m on the TH-cams bother!” 😂😂😂 Love the channel.
Haha thanks man!

I'm looking to get a 50 and I'm going to straight pipe it with five or six inch tips no cats I want it loud where like you could hear me
sorry we never saw your comment man! but that definately sounds spicy lol keep an eye on the channel here soon i may be doing something similar...🤫
If you still have drone you can add a vibrant resonator to it.
I've never had drone with this setup at all I think it's perfect the way it is but I'm also used to loud shit so there's that 😂

Definitely going with this over Roush 💪
Haha sweet! For the money and sound you get for the money it's definitely worth it!
Question for ya. Should I keep my stock 3 inch exhaust instead of a whole new exhaust and just add the mbrp muffler bypass?

do you have a cold air intake?
Currently no I do plan on getting one here soon! Thinking probably the pmas intake
Does the drone of your exhaust and the bass from the subwoofer clash sometimes? Like make it sound wobbly?
Actually not at all the truck doesn't really drone at all, if im being honest half the time I forget I even have the exhaust installed unless I roll my passenger rear window down lol and no the bass doesn't ever clash either

I put in on myself and I can’t get the exit pipes to line up.
Hmm weird I do know you have to trim the main pipe going back to the muffler to the correct size depending on the truck for it to fit but the pipes going out just takes alittle messing with to get it to work correctly
I did not see any install of the cat back exhaust!! WHY?
Well If I'm being honest with ya, I just didn't have a way to record back then when I recorded this to show the full install with every detail but I believe I show the gist of how it goes on
13:00. Sounds nice I don’t know if I want it that loud tho. 🤔 I’m still gonna look around!
Thanks man and now that I've had a few months driving with it, it really isn't all that loud!
What is the MBRP part number for this Cat Back?
I'm not sure about the part number but if you go on Americantrucks.com under the exhaust systems section you can easily find it!
Hey stand why have you not been posting is it because you moved to hilliard
No actually lol we've just been busy but we do plan to make a comeback here soon so stay tuned!
Is your truck a 10 speed? I wonder if the drone would be less on the highway with lower rpm?
Its not a 10 speed 2018 and newer trucks get the 10 speeds although it gets zero drone on the highway at cruise you only hear it when you hit the gas really
Just passed that orange mustang on the highway. Sounds like shit dawg
Thanks man it does sound like shit thank you!
