My (mostly) objective tierlist and your subjective tierlist differ in a lot of places, but at least we agree that the Mini Suspended Coaster is bottom tier trash. Also congrats on reaching 5000 subs!
I think it's at least partially because when something is so objectively bad, it's hard to have fun with it. The heartline is at least an interesting change of pace to design, and can have some niche use as a pseudo-flat ride to plonk down in a gap somewhere. The mini sus coaster is just unfun to build because it's just the worst parts of a bunch of other coasters put together. Between losing speed very fast and having no unique elements, it's boring and frustrating to design... and the low car weight means even once you get a design that will just *finish*, you can still end up with a pileup once guests are on it because of how much impact guest weight has on it.
This is a great change of pace from your usual videos and I honestly cannot believe you only have 5.3k subscribers still, but congratulations and onward and upward!
Congratulations on 5,000! As someone who became a coaster history nut because of this channel, I'm glad to see every single video! And, as someone who loves historical deep cuts, I appreciate how high the Virginia Reel (one of my favorites) and the Reverser are! I don't exactly feel qualified to comment on the rest of your placements, but I would probably put them similarly if I really knew my stuff. What a marvelous tier list for a marvelous game! It really is the gift that keeps on giving.
Ay thanks so much as always! I debated putting those two higher (especially the Virginia Reel) but I tried hard to spread out the placements across each tier, so they ended up in C and B. If I could, I'd honestly put most of the rides in B tier and above haha. Maybe should've gone for an "A, A-, B, B-" scale. Glad you enjoyed the video!
The infrequency with which you post seriously makes it a treat when I see one of your vids pop up in my feed. I definitely appreciate the time you put into researching your " RCT in real life" series.
Who knew he was a wild mouse freak!? Gotta say, it was interesting hearing your perspective, I’ve never found them to be that enjoyable to make in game!
The wooden one is my favorite one too! I love making super twisty ones that go under the supports, like GhostRider. Theyre also my favorite IRL, theyre just so immersive.
Really enjoyed watching this! I absolutely love your "what are these in real life" videos and this was a fun change of pace. Would enjoy the RCT3 version for sure, as well as a flat ride ranking.
Congrats on 5k subs, keep up the great videos and the nice variety with some lowkey relax videos too! Also solid tier list and amen about the Wooden Coaster
14:05 I always thought LIM coasters looked naked in comparison to the regular Schwarzkopfs the took some track sprites from - especially the vertical loop. The large loops and corkscrews don't have the heft of the track spines of other coasters so they always looked wrong to me, too. Plus no chain lift makes it more limited in terms of layout design.
I would agree with you on the Lay Down Coaster. I build that one all the time with the overbanks, loops, corkscrews and even zero g roll. My favourite would be doing a Raven turn off the lift. And with all the elements added to the LIM coaster in Open RCT2 and RCT3, it would be a top 5 most built for me.
Very much agree with you about the LIM coaster, it looks fantastic with the new elements and completely gets rid of my point about the inline twists looking a bit weird. And glad to see another Lay Down Coaster fan!
Agreed with the standup coaster and its funky stats. At the same time, the high intensity ratings present an interesting and fun challenge. On two occasions, I was able to crack the 7.68 (very-high) excitement rating. Requires tons of careful planning with the layout. Anyways, I dig the list, and your videos going over the real-life inspirations behind these classic coasters.
Love this video!! I do agree with most of the rankings here. Long time RCT player and just recently got into OpenRCT play, haha. Keep up the amazing content, and congrats on 5,000 subscribers! 👏👏😊
I think you're underrating the Giga Coaster. While its not as iconic as many of the RCT1 coasters, If you ask me (mostly an RCT1 player) this is the coaster I think of when talking about RCT2. To me this is the iconic coaster for RCT2, I remember loving building spaghettibowl coasters with it.
For the most part, I agree with your list. The strongest point of contention I have is the Mine Ride. I personally enjoy designing them, and I think a well themed one can really tie an area together. As such, I'd personally give it an A. Also, the Suspended Swinging Coaster would be a fair bit lower for me. Their ridiculous nausea stat is the main issue. They can be neat, but their stats put them in D for me. Other than that, my list would be basically the same, except I'd move a few other things one tier up. I'd move Looping Coaster to S because its so iconic, has nice base stats, and looks really nice. I'd move Steeplechase to D, because personally I think that building a racing coaster with them is fun enough to warrant it. Lastly, I'd move Virginia Reel to A, though I don't have any reasoning that you didn't already say about it; I just feel said reasoning makes it deserving of an A. But that's just my personal thoughts. Fun video, as always. It's always fun to compare how different people feel about different rides in RCT. Congrats on 5K subscribers!
While I do stand by my Mine Ride placement, I knew some would heartily disagree. I think if I played more Sandbox-style parks, I'd grow to like the Mine Ride a lot more. Your other points are incredibly fair, I actually wavered between putting the looping coaster in the A tier or S tier - the OpenRCT2 version of the ride (which has a few added special track elements) would definitely have made it, I guess I just hesitated putting a ride that high due to iconic status/aesthetics alone. But thanks much for sharing your thoughts! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video :)
Good list. I also love wild mice coasters but wooden one is my favourite. I know it is inferior to the steel one in every way but I just love how it looks. The wooden coaster is also among my absolute favourites. My only major disagreement with your list is the disrespect for the Mine Ride. It is a fun coaster to build. I like to make a design that goes around other rides, shops and paths. It can get nice stats and the long trains give a lot of capacity. It also looks cool speeding next to other attractions. I would give it a high C or low B.
I agree on all of these in only up to 16 minute mark. My only disagree is the B&M invert. I enjoy building them but think it’s harder to make it look real and also some track segments(inversions) have no supports under them and I don’t like that.
Well, the mine ride is probably something that first timers whiteout any hints will have difficulty whit any coasters that only use gravity and some other sort that isn't powered. So a totally beginner might find the mine ride as a fine one as the hills ain't gonna make this ride rollback at all. Also quite controversial that a Hearthline is higher than a mine ride. Because here's some other aspects that the Hearthline is very bad. Hearthlines only have a "soft guest gap" of 35 (meaning a very small amount of rapid guest generation). Hearthlines also so intense that the intensity is often double compared to the exitement in RCT2 Vanilla and RCT Classic and also quite nauseating. Mine rides are more of a familly coaster types. And if done correctly, it will look good and be an alright secondary ride.
For the most part I agree with your rankings. I definitely would have put the Giga Coaster much higher for how insanely high it can go as well as having amazing stats. Maybe unpopular opinion, but I absolutely detest the original stand-up coaster. Not only does it have garbage stats and bad track variety, but in the original RTC this damn coaster was so present in the scenarios. It literally scarred me as a kid trying to make a cool coaster out of this terrible ride each time because little other was available 😂
The first coaster type is the worst it’s a coaster type you can go beyond the coaster height and speed in rct3 with cheats which makes it fun. I know this is rct2

(mostly) objective and (mostly) subjective lol
Thankfully giving the Mini Suspended Coaster the F was one of the easiest decisions I had to make on the entire list.
And thanks so much Marcel!

I wonder if it’s still bad in RCT3.
It’s the goat!
You should do this with the RCT3 coaster types. And congrats on 5,000 subs!
Thank you!!! Definitely down if there's enough interest, always enjoy talking about RCT3 haha
This is a great change of pace from your usual videos and I honestly cannot believe you only have 5.3k subscribers still, but congratulations and onward and upward!

would love to see a video about planet coaster in the future
what the hell?
youre NOT a penguin????

ITS NOT JUST HIS VOICE😍
7:39 Agreed I love to build heartline twister roller coasters even though there stats are terrible.
YES! I really wasn't sure if anyone would agree with me on this take haha
The wooden one is my favorite one too! I love making super twisty ones that go under the supports, like GhostRider. Theyre also my favorite IRL, theyre just so immersive.

I expected you too look different like a little heavier with the deep voice but finally see what you look like
Congrats on 5k subs, keep up the great videos and the nice variety with some lowkey relax videos too! Also solid tier list and amen about the Wooden Coaster
Thanks so much! Happy to see there are so many other wooden coaster fans in the comments haha

That's exactly it, "naked" is a great way to describe how it looks compared to the other steel coaster types with inversions
congrats on making it to 5000 subs and i'm glad to have contributed to this incredible milestone in your life! Keep the coaster ride going!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the continued support :)
@@JNattyBoi you got it, i create modded scenarios for RCT2 on my computer

Handsome boy
Very nice video and interesting tier list :)
I love the wooden coaster, the sound is fantastic 😍
Cool beans, congrats on 5K!
Thanks so much!
Hi John, I just stumbled onto your channel and I LOVE IT!! Thanks for top tier content!
I can't wait to watch! Yahoo!
Congratulations!

I like the entirely different approach of this one compared to Marcel Vos's tier list, which is oriented mainly on scenario efficiency and stats
Love these video so much!
Congrats! and thanks for the solid videos.
Love this video!! I do agree with most of the rankings here. Long time RCT player and just recently got into OpenRCT play, haha. Keep up the amazing content, and congrats on 5,000 subscribers! 👏👏😊
Can you make a video on the origins of the tracked rides of RCT3 and the water slides?
I think you're underrating the Giga Coaster. While its not as iconic as many of the RCT1 coasters, If you ask me (mostly an RCT1 player) this is the coaster I think of when talking about RCT2. To me this is the iconic coaster for RCT2, I remember loving building spaghettibowl coasters with it.
Love the Cedar Point map in the background. It looks like the 2017 map when Mean Streak was taken out and Steel Vengeance wasn't built yet.
Man, couldn't agree more. I love wood coasters, irl and in rct.
It’s good that now in Open RCT2 you can go crazier with the coaster builder to make them more realistic

I personally don’t think that the B&M invert should be in s tier due to its high nausea rating and high intensity
I don’t play rct2 anymore but the bobsled models are the ones I was a little scared to build
Fellow Big Bad Wolf Enjoyer (Busch Gardens Williamsburg really just has/had epic coasters)
God you look good! Btw love rct too 😍
I agree on all of these in only up to 16 minute mark. My only disagree is the B&M invert. I enjoy building them but think it’s harder to make it look real and also some track segments(inversions) have no supports under them and I don’t like that.
Wild Mouse Stan
You might like the wild mouse but it absolutely does not have S-tier throughput 😉
can you do all the Planet Coaster coaster types IRL

Where did he go
Why don't I know what the heck the mine ride is?
You should do this for rct3
Love this: the video and you 😆😍😉
Hope you back soon

Hahaha I feel very similarly about the Stand-Up, it's just insanely frustrating to build. I basically avoided building them altogether as a kid.
Missing your videos. Hope you’re doing okay 💛
Minisus is S+ tier and you can't change my mind ;-;
The first coaster type is the worst it’s a coaster type you can go beyond the coaster height and speed in rct3 with cheats which makes it fun. I know this is rct2
