- Hey guys, this right here has been a LONG awaited video, and for my true subscribers, y'all can probably notice this video isn't parallel with my life changes... BUT that's alright cause we're back on track!
This Borla ATAK is quite literally the best exhaust I've ever heard for this truck, and especially with the distinct modifications done to this exhaust system (3rd cat delete, 3in piping, dual exhaust tip), it is PERRRFECT!! It's stupid aggressive at all times but is quiet and non-drone simultaneously. It really is impressive. So if you're looking for a good cruising exhaust, but, you like to show off, this is probably your deal.

Thanks man! Yeah, so it’s a 3rd cat delete and then all new 3in piping all the way back. So no resonator.

I got the XR-1 currently, but I bought the ATAK awhile back still in the box. Just undecided if i want to save it for another truck or replace the XR-1.
No better time than the present. You could always keep the XR-1 and put it back in the future. That’s what I did

And yeah they were. I painted them multiple times with spray paint and it seems to not hold up as good as my college student self thought lol, I got some good paint equipment now and the paint from the actual paint code. Looking to fix the bumpers here soon

@@SnowyZ71 hopefully it'll be soon, I've been prepping for a couple powerlifting competitions so that's been taking a bit of mine time lol. But they do need to be fixed so they're at the top of my priority list!

How does the atak and 3rd cat delete compare to just a muffler delete? that’s all I got on my truck now.
It’s such a distinct and beautiful tone that I’d say a simple muffler delete couldn’t compete with. I know this video is only an idea for the sound but I loved the way it sounded with just the ATAK. I now have LTH and it’s amazing with the same muffler

Is the noise pretty tolerable in person because it’s hard to decide if it’s ear piercing loud or if it has that good tone😂
It's very tolerable with this setup. I loved the way this setup sounded. I recently installed long tube headers and now she's a little too rowdy to be a daily lol

Not one. It’s not monitored, only there because of California

XR-1 good. ATAK better... It's the pops combined w/clean rumble! My dude has this on a 3.5T... Nowhere near this clean
From 6:40 > 8:00min... when comparing Rev's... after each Rev Up... Does anyone know what causes the long slow RPM drops back down to idle?? Mine does this, can't stand it. Doesn't happen under load, only when not in gear (Park or Neutral)
From what I've read, it's completely normal and part of the fly-by-wire Throttle Actuated Control (TAC) programming. They don't want to slam the throttle blade shut as there is no Idle Air Control (IAC) on the TAC-equipped vehicles. They slow down its closing close to idle to make sure the vehicle doesn't stall.
@@hunterrwiilson Thx for reply.. So it's probably been 12-16mo since I researched this hanging RPM after revving issue. Mine is a 2011 LC9 w/o an IAC. Also has DIY CAI using 6" outlet S&B filter from 6.6 Duramax + 4" tube and ported TB. I thouhgt I may have "over aired" it? But just, now starting my search with the IAC (thx) issue verbage I was able to pick up a some different terminology that, in a 2nd search led me to the HPTuners forum rather quickly. There, in just 5min of reading it sounds like this RPM hang can be remedied by taking some timing out of it on decel...
I've had the HPTuners software for 13mos now and just havent made the time to dive deep enough into Volumetric Efficiency tuning and several other aspects of the engine tuning that I should have. Only used it to adjust TCC lockup issues, shift pressures, shift times, and to tell the truck it no longer has the 10bolt 8.6" 3.08 govbomb rear end, and that it now sports a 14 bolt 9.5" 3.42 with an Eaton Truetrac...

I honestly think my Dynomax race bullet sounds better. I almost went with this muffler but I don’t have headers. And they sound way better with headers in my opinion. Sounds good though bro.
