Not related, but do you know if this engine have 1 or 2 thermostats sensors? I replaced the one near the alternator but I might see something similar in the back of the engine by the passenger side
Hey jimmy, thank you so much for the comment. I had to look that word up I didn't know what it meant and I really do appreciate you saying that thank you so much. I know with the traffic these days in Toronto it is unbearable sometimes so I completely understand. But anytime you're in the area you're more than welcome to come by.
I will definitely be doing that in the future. However it is impossible to find all the same parts that I have access to which is part of the reason I don't link them to you. Maybe I'll come up with something that may be helpful to you. If there is a specific part that you're looking for please let me know and I'll try to get the part number for you.
I always recommend just changing out the pulley unless there is any sort of binding from the tensioner or physical damage like a broken spring. It is a fraction of the cost to change the pulley as opposed to the tensioner.
Watching you do this job gives me hope. Thank you.
Hello, great videos for subies DYI. I own a 2010 Outback and your channel is very helpful!
Spectacular I have a 2010 or 11 outback that will be making some lengthy videos on hopefully I get enough time to edit them for you.
That would be very helpful! Next project is changing the timing belt, water pump, thermostat and flush the coolant.

Hey my friend, there is only one on top of the bypass holes between the two halves of the block.
nice video. How do you know when to replace the belt tensioner itself not just the roller on the tensioner?
ALWAYS learning from you. Thanks for imparting your knowledge. You ARE altruistic. Wish you were near me in Whitby. JimmyF(IAT500)

First comment?
You are definitely first :-)
Do you recommend changing the entire tensioner assembly with pulley ? Or just switch the tensioner pulley and idler pulley ?
