I am a certified makeup artist, and I appreciate other REAL makeup artists. Thank you for showing people how to really contour and for mentioning that you wouldn’t do it everyday. I’m so sick of the 🤡
In addition to the step-by-step illustrations, I really appreciate your explanations of _why_ you're doing something and what the intended effect is. It's like being in art class. Thanks so much for these.
I watched this last night and I was skeptical. I was like “sure, a fantastic pro mua can do contouring under foundation but if I did that it would look terrible.” Well I tried it this morning and I am amazed! It turned out so soft and natural, not harsh like when I contour over my foundation. After applying the foundation I picked up a bit more contour for a little more cheekbone definition. 10/10. Thank you!
Thanks for not only showing us *how* but explaining *WHY.* A lot of people don't say why they are applying makeup to this or that, or what effect they are trying to achieve. You explained everything, in such a caring, honest and detailed way. I just found you a cpl days ago, but you are def my new go to for makeup and skincare tips, tutorials, suggestions, product reviews...everything! I feel like I can really trust what you are saying. I have been binging some of your vids, and I am off to binge some more! 🥰
I love the kind, thorough explanation and subtle reminders that all make up doesn't need to stand out. Natural is beautiful. Love your content. Thanks for sharing.
Oh this is helpful! I had to hit pause and just take a moment. Once you hit the contour from the eye to temple to minimize the puff. I had been doing this and hoping like heck that I was right in doing so and not making my face look weird. When a professional does this with his explanation I was finally relaxed and quite happy I had done this with that exact intention. Back to the film!
YOU ARE QUITE A CUT ABOVE THE REST ! No bells and whistles and you embrace a subtle beauty and aging individuals as well so as not to hide our aging but to subtly improve the beauty of aging and all people in general! Simply Gorgeous! I thank you !
I love this! I especially like the two shades of foundation. The end result looks natural and very good.. I always find after I put on my foundation it looks like we’re wearing a mask.. this is much better. Thank you Wayne I am excited to do my make-up tomorrow❤️ By the way I picked up your eyeshadow brushes and I just love them.. I find myself grabbing yours over my Rephr’s. Again thank you for the tutorial… you have helped all of us grown-up guys and gals ❤️
First of all - I’m always amazed at the artistry - also, I realize that some of my old makeup ways, before TH-cam taught me how complicated makeup is ;), were not wrong but intuitive to my own face - I try to remember these videos, but forget most of it… but I always remember one thing that sticks in my head because it speaks to something unique about my face that I’ve either ignored or didn’t like This time it’s “beauty mark” - I never really thought of myself as “One that could carry off a beauty mark” - My skin already has lots of light freckles that aren’t perfectly beautifully placed. but I realize that I actually have a couple large freckles that stand out. They’re not perfect circles but they are a bit unique compared to the general freckles I have - they always just dull out grey-ish under makeup - but NOW I realize… I could color them back in slightly with a light brown and they might look cool! MIND BLOWN!!! Thanks Wayne Goss!
Love this, getting married next year. I'm 46 and wanted to do my own, 'simple' makeup, but knew I'd probably need contour, this so breaks it down for me... and plenty of time to practice!
hi wayne, im a mau aslo and i have been looking round youtube for someone that can help with hooded eyes, and other things well i think you videos are well presented, and exolained very wel thank you plus as a mau you can never stop learning, as ive said to many people. "everyday is a school day" so thank you for making your tuturials
❤loved it. All of it. New subscriber here. I’m so glad I found you. Hello from Houston, Texas! Binge watching you now. A great Saturday afternoon if you ask me 😊
As an older woman I have issue with that highlighter in the inner covers of my eyes. It is bad to cake up on me. When I put powder under the eye it makes it all worse. UGH.
I have the same issues, I have noticed a difference using Estée Lauder futurist foundation but I only use it as a concealer because it’s radiant but doesn’t set into wrinkles . I would highly recommend that you go to the counter and ask for several samples to find the right shade . Don’t match your skin - instead I would go for a slightly warmer tone than your whole face since we tend to have dark veins visible under our eyes too . I feel like I do better with more oranges than yellow
I would love to see a video for tips on makeup/contouring with freckles. I have a hard time contouring because with freckles it ends up blending together and looking muddy (especially on the nose 😅).
Hi, Mister Wayne... I just discovered your channel, and the 1st video I watched is this one about contouring. 😊 absolutely amazing and correct applied. I am laik and do my own make-up since I discovered make-up ( a long time ago ,,,,, at least 45 years ), and I try to do the same as you do. What I did 45 yrs ago not suit me now when I am 60, so instead of pointing out, now i need to " cover up. " ...😅 will continue to check and watch all your tutorials, I really love it.
Thank you! i already know about contouring and stuff but i couldn't find any advanced explaining thing and this really nailed it on the head! many great tips! thank you!!
That looks great, its the best natural look anyone can give to one's own face that says alive, awake and present yet subtle, you know this person has done something but what is it lol Fab 👍🏼😊🌻
Thank you for this. I'm 45 and most of the tutorials I see are for young people. Your explanations also helped me to see how to personalize according to my face shape.
Can you pleas do coverups for black birthmark to cover it completely your sin is beautiful flawless nothing to hide , I hav to use lots of foundation to cover half of my face or can you please tell me what’s best concealer to use to cover dark birthmark thank you
Less is more! But very important to know where and how to do the bronzing, contouring, high lightening and blushing to look natural and professional and NOT PAINTED! And Mostly to know what colors to pick for our particular complexion! Thank you master Goss!
This isn’t about this video but I loved it. I tried to repurchase your #8 liner brush and they said it was discontinued. Do you have a replacement brush? Thank you!
Thank you! I followed your tutorial and literally put my makeup along with you, pausing in between. Omg! What the heck! How am I 47 and for the first time discovering that I have been applying under eye makeup and contour all wrong! I am shocked!
If you struggle with wrinkles and fine lines on my forehead and the 11 frown lines, shouldn't I avoid any form of powder? Won't it accentuate my wrinkles?
I had a issue with this. But then i got a tips about pressing the powder on, with a buff. A small amount. And also, the foundation need to be thin/thin layer, especially at those places that move/easily will crease and wrinkle. Also, powder can also make facial hair visible when using a brush... So, adult skin will benefit with less products, And a lot of moisture before makeup(let sink in,dab off exsessive after at least 20 minutes/needs time to sink in).
I have powder highlighter, and contour products how do you use this with a thin layer of foundation which I use very little and blend very well. I am in my forties. Thxs😊 I don't like to wear much makeup, as a former principal ballerina I wore makeup for stage performances only, so I am just learning, but all these shite videos would having me look like a 🤡. 11:34
@Entrepenumbra he doesn't look the same, maybe we're too used to extra visible contour in these times. But clicking into the beginning and then the end without watching the process shows the difference.
"I have a man's face." Really? 🤣I hadn't noticed yet 🤣 And a beautiful man's face it is! I wish I had found (and looked for) your videos ten years ago. It is soooooo nice to hear such a pleasant and kind guy with an eye and a heart for beauty who actually looks a bit like me explain what to look for and consider when contouring and doing makeup. And I know you've said you don't like lipstick, but I'd love to see you try a soft matte fleshy pink(perhaps slightly brown/earthy pink) lipstick some time. I think it will make your lips pop out and make you look even more amazing, especially with mascara; I feel like lipstick and mascara balance each other out very well. I have thicker lips than you so I just cheat with lip balm 🤣Makes my lips a bit shiny and then people, instead of asking if I have makeup on they ask if I have lipstick on 🤣It's so funny. I agree with you. Some people really look too overdone and clownesque.
@@sarahmata6293 this is how contouring is supposed to be done. Not to mention, it’s only for print and film. Not for everyday life wear.
For a makeup artist your pfp looks rather unspectacular

I don't care so much about contouring. It's unflattering on my textured skin. But my God, this man is so gorgeous! ❤
It’s definitely been blended in kindly , I loved this demonstration thank you for yet another amazing way to do subtle makeup
Thank you, Wayne, for this extremely informative video. ❤️❤️❤️

Reminds me of my Kevyn Aucoin makeup books. He was a true master when it came to makeup.❤️
I had his books too!
You look so awake & handsome & this suits you well. I’ll have to work on this technique! Thank you Wayne!
I love your videos and the practical approach to make up. I learn so much from your videos.
