    THANK YOU!! Contouring has never worked for me! I tried this & it's subtle and beautiful. My husband said "Did you do something different" I said "Why?" He said "You just look really nice." All I had changed up was adding your contour trick! Thanks 😊

    As someone who can use good subtle nose contouring, this is the best video I’ve seen yet! The key is one shade darker and not overly contouring! As always, Wayne breaks it down for us and I’m going to stick with this subtle yet practical method. Thanks again Wayne. YOU ARE A GEM!!!

      I wish he would've, cause he has a tip to do the contour PERFECTLY! I have the same tip. The center is slightly lower than the nostril. It makes the point where I use highlighter a little higher than the actual tip.
      It's literally the part I always screw up. I did it good one time 😂then I forgot. I just can't get the placement. I just do the highlighter trick & shun the contour. Any tips?

      @AdrienneStarr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nikkilovesrocks I wish he would have too, I think it would look great. I just run the contour brush under the tip and lightly dab highlight up on the tip and gives a more upturned look imo

I always believed it should be discreet but by golly when you watch some make up tutorials it's like fright night and the best of it is these people are usually attractive and don't need the dark stripes. Thanks Wayne for making this video. As a former principal ballerina with the Royal London Ballet for many years, I rarely wore makeup except for performances, now retired I returned to my home country. I prefer to wear minimal makeup, however, in my late 40's I needed to learn how to learn how to adjust my makeup from stage to wearing make-up that enhances your features but still gives a natural look. I was appalled at 16 year olds doing video's for face lifts, ect, ect, I never wore such ridiculous make-up even when performing. So I was grateful for your knowledge in the artistry of makeup which shows through in your video's. 😊 Many thanks!

    Very helpful in terms of picking an appropriate shade for the contour and and knowing how to blend it, BUT entirely unhelpful if your nose is crooked, or you're looking to re-shape it in any other way. If I followed my natural nose shape and just drew two lines like that, I would end up highlighting the crookedness of my nose, which I don't really want. You briefly touched upon this by saying you wouldn't necessarily do this for your nose shape either, since your nose doesn't really need to look thinner. I would love to see a video about placement to achieve different things and/or "correct certain issues"!

I've tried tricks to narrow it but I typically don't wear foundation so I see now I was using a contour color way deeper than I should have and probably need to use some kind of foundation (albeit lightly applied) to blend it??? I have been trying to do this for quite some time now. I had the eye lift area sort of down BUT I was using too dark. I am almost 50 and I want the subtle not the extreme. The nose for me, I do like it a tad thinner but again too dark of shade and I was working around about the same area (eyebrow on down) but I'm maybe in a bit too far and not directly down the side for that shadow.
    Thank you for the easier and more subtle explanation and techniques with the area, color shade and sponges.
    Xoxo with that Wink! (My wink isn't that handsome manly way (well, I'm a girl haha) mine is more of the It looks like I have something strange in my eye as I scrunch my face up, tilting the head ever so extreme because it definitely isn't subtle and a twisted up cocked to the side forces Wink wink

    I think people use way too dark of a contour shade on the sides of their nose so it is noticeable and it looks silly. It was you that actually taught me to blend it downward towards the face instead of just up-and-down and it made all the difference. I now have other people asking me how I did that. So I will definitely be trying your other tips because let’s face it they always work, let’s face it, oh my goodness dad jokes are getting to be funnier and funnier the older I get. Lol

      What do you use for nose contour? TY

    • @mommashawna707
      @mommashawna707 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wildhorses6817 I use the second to lightest shade in my contour palette. I personally use powder but I have also used cream it just depends on what I am going to do that day. Everyone’s skin tone makes a difference in which brand they like, I like a true contour which means it’s closer to a gray but not gray of course. I do know the Huda bronzers are pretty neutral and many are really enjoying them, they are more of a cream and look a lot darker than they actually are so I would go in store to try to find a shade. The pallet I’m using has been discontinued so I wouldn’t recommend that one, I’m sorry I would like to help more but like I said my pallet has been discontinued. Iconic London has an ultimate bronzing powder I am light as far as my foundation goes but in this I bought the medium bronze and it’s a very neutral bronzer so there’s no orange in it and that works great although I do use it very lightly because I wish I had it in a lighter shade. It’s funny because I just bought an elf one but I have not tried it

    Too-warm contour is my pet peeve.
    There is a super-talented makeup artist (on TH-cam & elsewhere) whose makeup "transformations" are amazing... except for the orangey contour. It detracts completely from what they are trying to achieve. I cannot understand why people who are vastly more artistic than I am, can't work out that contours (ie shadows) should have a grey base, not an orange one?
    I think the best products for contouring are cool-toned brow products, ranging from light blonde/taupe through to dark, cool browns or black.

      Me too. Contour on my nose makes me look like I’ve had too many second prizes.

    Thank you! My pale contour is way too dark so it sits at the bottom of my drawer. I'm going to definitely try this!

    Your content is really useful.
    I have very oily skin and whenever I use a dark contour shade it makes my nose upper lips look little darker than the rest of my face. I guess using something which is a shade darker than my foundation will solve my problem.

    Looks good! Some people contour with too dark of color. How do contour a thin-bridged nose?

    I was in a fight in my teenage years and got my nose broken. Now it's crooked af and I wish someone would show me how to contour it to look more straight.
