- The firefighters and the paramedics of Firehouse 51 deal with a 25-story apartment fire that creates chaos for everyone involved in saving lives.
Season 7 Episode 2 "A Closer Eye"
Detective Jay Halstead’s father is one of the victims trapped inside. Meanwhile, the new Assistant Deputy Commissioner keeps his eye on Boden. Casey and Brett continue to deal with Dawson’s departure and Brett gets a special gift that helps her cope. Foster opens up about her past. One of the firefighters gets into trouble while trying to save another firefighter. Severide makes a daring rescue of a small boy from the upper floors.

I do hope that all the people who love this show understand how very dangerous firefighting is,I am a widow of a professional firefighter because of this job ,please never take them for granted ever,they are remarkable wonderful and brave and put their lives on the line repeatedly to keep the public safe.

Why didn’t Josh’s mum alert someone about her son being in there.
information sometimes gets lost in situations like this, if she told a paramedic and the paramedic got distracted by another victim and forgot to relay the information it happens, she also could have passed out from smoke inhalation and by the time she woke up her son was already being rescued.
Mason Campbell it looked like she was just a bystander stood there. Also I agree that the information could gave gotten lost, but I would have thought that a 10 year old boy stuck on the fire floor would have been relayed pretty quickly, or the mum would have found a senior officer at the scene.
Jarnold 123 also possible she didn't speak English or as he was alone maybe she didn't know her floor was the fire floor, if she went to get milk or something when the fire started and just assumed he left when the alarm went off or maybe she's just a bad mom 😄
You know, this moment had me on edge, I mean, after what Severide went through with Anna, if he lost Stella as well, I think he would have lost his marbles.
