Imagine every pixel is a bus. There are a lot of seats on the bus, in the front and in the back. When you get on the bus, you don't know ultimately which seat you'll end up in, but the seating affects things like the legroom, window space, accessibility, difficulty and speed of exit, et cetera, and those are all required for a perfect bus trip. The only way to get it perfect is to frame-perfectly manipulate all the other passengers on board before the bus even reaches the stop to sit in all the perfect spots. This requires 16 person-perfect stops before you even get on. And even after you get on, you still need to make sure there isn't a Karen to mess your day up so you'll need a fast acceleration once you reach the bus warp zone.

Repent and follow Jesus my friend! Repenting doesn't mean confessing your sins to others, but to stop doing them altogether. Belief in Messiah alone is not enough to get you into heaven - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Contemplate how the Roman empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years to accomplish the religion of the Israelites C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and have proof. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life. - Revelation 3:20
Revelation has been unfolding since Jesus died. The Popes have claimed to be equal to God and set themselves in Jesus' place (antichrist(s)). Vatican City (Which is its own nation BTW) have risen up to fulfill the role of the false prophet
Regarding the man of lawlessness or antichrist, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 says “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” The restrainer that the Apostle Paul was referring to in 2 Thessalonians was the Western Roman Emperor, who held back the Popes from taking power. Once the last Western Roman Emperor was removed from power in 476 AD, the Pope was given civil and ecclesiastic authority over Rome; healing the deadly head wound of the beast in Revelation 13, as they took the Emperors title of Pontifex Maximus, leader of the church and state.
“We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (Source: “Decretals of Gregory IX,” Book 1, chapter 3.)
Pope Pius V blasphemed, “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (Source: Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Cities Petrus Bertanous Chapter XXVII: 218.)
Pope Leo XIII declared, “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” (Source: Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894)
The antichrist sea beast of Revelation points to the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, who controlled the Roman beast for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD.
Daniel 7:25 says “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” The Popes of Rome spoke against Elohim and proclaimed to be God. They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. during which they caused tens of millions of saints to be killed.
The Pope’s title is Vicar of Christ, which in Latin is ‘Vicarius Filii Dei’, and equates numerically to the number 666

That's precisely why your hands would hurt so I don't know why you're implying it has much to do with age.
The same would be true of working out or running. You're going to hurt before your body becomes acclimated and if you don't keep it up for the vast majority of time then you will lose that.
To not hurt is to be somewhere in the large middle ground between casual and grindy boy. Age matters a lot less than your body being used to it or not.
I am in my mid 30s and I am no worse for wear as a non-casual player (by which I mean hardcore likely beyond what 99% of average people would class as hardcore). Not because of gaming, at least. As time passes, on the gaming front I continue being better than I've ever been. Even if I haven't played a game in 20 years I am ridiculously better than I was 20 years ago when I pick it up again.
If I wasn't playing for hours a day I would expect to be hurting and my age wouldn't even be a consideration for why.

@@RunicSigils There's a couple things at play there. Strength and flexibility typically come with use, so going from not doing something to starting it can be uncomfortable as you build strength, callouses, flexibility if you don't have them. The other side to the coin is injury and wear. Doing a lot of high impact things or repeating the same motion over and over without proper time for recovery can lead to wear (permanent injury). As you age, your body's ability to recover from injury diminishes. Any prolonged or repetitive physically activity will eventually cause issues done long enough or frequently enough. If you look at anyone who's at the top of their sport/art and it involves lots of repetitive physical motion, they will often have problems related to it.

@@sandnewts I doubt if anyone who is playing this game or does a speed run knows about any of the specific details regarding pixels/framerules or how or why they allow for glitches that can be performed in this game. My guess is that the extent of their knowledge is that it's possible to perform the glitches and that they can do them with enough practice (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). So I guess I just don't know how or why it is that this dude is attempting to make sense of the process behind the glitches, when the players themselves are likely not even aware of this process. It's not like someone who is playing this game is aware of exactly where XYZ pixel is and is focused on hitting that pixel in order to perform XYZ glitch. I'm certain that isn't the thought process of anyone who is doing a speed run, and therefore it is really pointless to try to make sense of the things that happen. It's like you are way over-thinking it and you are assuming that speed runners are aware or thinking about any of this. hand health is a very real issue across speedrunning- i've had some strain myself and i know other runners who've had to get in touch with doctors after playing top-level for months. thanks for bringing awareness, we give so much (deserved) cred to the dedicated souls who put thousands of hours into the craft but we need to be aware of the risks

Hand issues are not joke! I remember trying to go for a WR in street fighter alpha for PS back in 2001.
Keeping the character in the air for as long as possible which required sliding between down side and up continuously with multiple other inputs simultaneously…
I had RAW thumbs! Was absolutely disgusting how bad I wore the skin off my thumbs… and it took months to heal

Hand health is a teal issue. I got me a trigger finger on my right hand for typing too much on my keyboard. I had to go through surgery to fix it, but it’ll never be the same as before. While speaking with the specialist he told me that my problem used to be nor common in old people, but each year he’s seeing it in younger people.

This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20.
Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

I would've thought that the level of patience required to do any of this would've been a turn-off to all but the most experienced Mario players.

Hand/wrist health is very important. I'm a competitive fighting game player and also lift quite heavy weights. There was a time where competing in fighting games had me in a situation where I couldn't deadlift or put pressure on my hands in a push up style position without crazy pain. Those stretches you posted are super important. Rest and ice will also help. It probably doesn't help I am about to hit 40 either lol. Very cool video man.

    HAND HEALTH: YES!
Senior year of high school I would play the same Mario Kart Wii time trial every day after school for 5 hours, including an hour or two of piano practice. I didn't listen to my wrist when it started hurting, had to drop the controller mid-run from intense sharp pain. Ended up getting tenosynovitis that would flare up every so often. Possibly may have triggered my Kienboch's disease which severely impacted my left hand usage a few years later, and I ended up having to get surgery that permanently limited my wrist mobility. I was 24 when I had the surgery. Most of the already rare cases of Kienboch's don't get Kienboch's until they're in their 50s.

I'd also recommend the Aku Ball for hand and wrist issues, a Diablo 2 top level speedrunner (ryuquezacotl) was developing issues for similar reasons to this controller movement stuff and got one of those and liked it so much he started advertising it on his channel for free, I ended up getting one and it's completely fixed my wrist pain from being on the computer so often, I just use it once in awhile when I start feeling pain or fatigue in my wrists and it just does the trick for me.
