Victor, your knowledge of pulp fiction is second to none. Every video I watch I'm struck by your attention to detail. Memories come flooding into my consciousness from the deep recesses of my youth.
WOW. This is one heck of a compliment, and I'll take it. Thank you. All of this is stuck in my brain, but don't think I don't research to get some of facts straight, I do. And sometimes I get a wrong one here and there, lol. But all of this was very important to me growing up. Seriously. I am going to figure out how to PIN this comment to the top in my section. Thank you so much.
@@GENXPERIENCE You're welcome, Victor. It was meant with all sincerity, and I'm glad you accepted it as such.
Speed Buggy only had 16 episodes? Holy Hannah!
I loved that show. Prost!
Right! And it just played over and over and over again. And we loved it.
Remember the live-action 'Wonderbug,' with Schlepcar?
That theme song still plays in my head
@@MegaDcmp the one with the magic horn?
I was born in 72, so all these shows were in heavy rotation when I sat down with a bowl of BooBerry on Saturday! After Scooby, Clue Club was my favorite! It just was a cut above the others! Cavey ran a close second because he was so cool!
Thank you for watching and the comment. That is the phrase...HEAVY ROTATION. These guys stayed with us because they just never stopped showing them. And it was great with cereal (you were lucky getting BooBerry, lol)
I watched Captain Caveman and Clue Club. I loved both so much as a kid that I bought the DVDs when I grew up!
That is love. Thank you for sharing.
@@GENXPERIENCE I kind of wish there was a Clue Club/Scooby-Doo crossover
@@GENXPERIENCE I kind of wish there was a Clue Club/Scooby-Doo crossover
My favorite was The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan. Most of the stereotypes covered by a group of siblings and a cute dog, but this time they actually had a parent.
Great one. I didn't include it because of the parent...but also because it is based on an old HOllywood Character, and I am doing a show about all of those. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@GENXPERIENCEIt would be funny if we got a Scooby-Doo/Amazing Chan & The Chan Clan crossover Film at some point.
Didn't the Jerry Lewis cartoon also have some cringey characters?
@@johndurham2459 Huh?
Some of the Chan Clan kids and Charlie Chan were voiced by actual Asian American performers with ace detective Charlie Chan being voiced by familiar actor Keye Luke (blind Master Po in the David Carradine Kung Fu series) and the oldest son Henry was played by Robert Ito of the Quincy M.E. series. The kids did not practice martial arts or work as servants for a positive change than the past cartoon portrayals of Asian characters.
Im an elder Millennial and I remember Jabber Jaw, Josie, and Speed Buggy the most.. Back when Cartoon Network played 60s cartoons
Thank God for endless reruns, especially on EARLY Cartoon Express, Nick, and USA Network when Saturday Morning Cartoons were dying away at the turn of the 90s. Elder Millennials are our brethren.
@@GENXPERIENCE I’m 38 and us elders were the last to really get the full cartoon experience

Don't forget about The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan.
@GENXPERIENCE reruns can never replace the Saturday morning cartoon experience. Saturday mornings were more than just the cartoons, we had the toy company commercials with all the big brands competing against each other with great toy advertising. Cereal commercials, Mcdonalds hamburgers advertising and School House Rock! It was a time in history that can never be duplicated by the cartoons alone. We did not know at the time that we were living through a very historical moment.
Funniest Part of this that it was Hanna Barbera ripping itself off not some competitor.
I do love that. It was such an assembly line, too. SD was a success, we will make more of those, lol.
@@GENXPERIENCE True and Hanna-Barbera didn't have to sue themselves for making alot of Scooby-Doo Clones in the 1970s
Because they didn’t really have any competition back then. Up until the 1980’s, H&B had 80% percent of the cartoon viewership. It’s why they were pumping out so many shows during the 70’s; hence all the clones. Even though most of their 70’s shows only lasted a single season( except wait till your father gets home ), it didn’t really matter because H&B was such a monopoly that they had to rip off themselves, because they were all there was
@@Dhampir101980 Yeah, that is also a good point
@@Dhampir101980Which is why I welcomed the 80's
The Hardy boys was the first cartoon to feature a black character 1969, a year before "Josie and the Pussycats" 🐈 😻 🐈⬛ 🐱
Came in to say the same thing, then decided to let it slide, since he did say 'first black female' which she was, but yea, Pete in the Hardy Boys was first, male or female.
Are we talking TV shows, or animation in general? Because if it’s the latter, they’ve been in the animation scene far longer than that - though not always in the most flattering sense.
I was born in 66. I lived for Saturday mornings in the 70’s! Clue Club was my favorite because it seemed a little smarter and more engaging than the other cartoons. I tried solving the crimes and it gave the viewer clues and let us try to solve it.
You saw first run with that birthdate. That is exciting, and I completely agree, CC was a bit smarter. Thanks for sharing. Love seeing an early Gen Xer on here.
Can you believe I forgot Clue Club.... thanks for reminding me 😅😅😅😅
Scooby got a new life in 80s dorm rooms. That was our go to cartoon in the afternoon when we were blazing up.
I am not surprised, and yes that whole culture seems to follow him (and Shaggy) everywhere.
In the late 80s, we watched Brady Bunch in our dorm. We'd have a game to see who could first remember, after just a couple lines, what the plot of the show would be. Obviously that was before having a guide built into the cable. Good times.
@@grannyweatherwax8005was playing that game in the late 70’s when the reruns ran after school
@paulsoxl7739 At my university (Northern Colorado), we spent our afternoons blazing up to Inspector Gadget, followed by TMNT, and topped off with The People's Court!
@@seanryan3020 What else are you going to do in Greeley
lol Jabber Jaws! Most wonderful Shark you ever saw! Show cross with Josie and Doo.
Anything old such as old cartoons is right up my alley
I remember all of these cartoons. I loved them all. Scooby-Doo and Clue Club were my favorites. Does anyone remember the Chan Clan? I know it wasn't a Scooby-Doo spinoff but they has music and they solved cases...
Fangface even had two of his adventures turned into novelizations.
I absolutely loved Jabberjaw! My grandfather used to take me to the matinee (usually at the high school auditorium). It always had the Three Stooges, Bugs Bunny then the movie. Curly always made me laugh, so Jabberjaw was big on association. The other one was Grape Ape. Yeah... yeah
Grape Ape and Beegle Beagle. Yow! A Gor-ril-ril-ril-a!!!
I'm a boomer born in 63 and I watched a lot of those cartoons back in the day. Good times.
They were just early enough for us to Cross Over. Good times.
Josie and The Pussycats.
"Long tails and ears for hats!".
Guitars, and sharps and flats!
@@tomkerruish2982 The pussycats in Outer Spa-ace, yeah.
The Pre-Cana Cheetah Girls group!
Captain Caveman was part of the Flintstone universe.
The Saturday Morning Cartoon Experience!! Gone but not forgotten!!
Never forgotten, you got that right.
You should have mentioned Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog. They're still Scooby clones even if they're not the stars of the show.
I'd agree. I was avoiding superheroes, but truth is, they would have been great here.
@@GENXPERIENCE The Wonder Twins and Gleek would have also fallen into that mold... even if they were not well received (and also "superheroes"). Space Ghost kinda did in that there were teenage side kicks and a monkey, but it wasn't from the 70s so probably also didn't qualify, also superheroes.
You can probably thank 80s rerun blocks like "The USA Cartoon Express" for cementing some of those shows in the nostalgia consciousness. Clue Club especially benefited from airing there. I think Buford and the Galloping Ghost also ran on USA Network as well.
Of course, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels along with Blue Falcon and Dynomut are my personal faves! :D
Absolutely. Some were created the year of my birth, so RERUN after RERUN made them memorable for me. And I never questioned how old they were, just sometimes "Why were they wearing some of those clothes?" lol. Thank you for the comment.
I nevrr heard of clue club
I watched these shows and remembered them.
@@rony41165it’s the best of the Scooby clones because the kids are competent and the mysteries and villains aren’t outlandish
Saturdays were Utlraman, Superfriends, Scooby, and a local station did a run of George of the Jungle/Super Chicken/Tom Slick. Then it was time to go out and play.
Josie, Speed Buggy, Funky Phantom, and the rest were syndicated for after school viewing, really wrecking my homework…
I wondered did the narrator left out the fact that Casper, the friendly ghost had a group who did mystery solving as well
George of the Jungle was my show! It was a clone of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show! Anthology cartoon!
@@sportsbabe1125Still love Fractured Fairytales & everytime Melania opened her mouth all I thought of was Boris & Natasha 😂
Fun fact about Captain Caveman: Andy Heyward worked on that show. If that name sounds familiar, in 1982, he moved on to DiC Audiovisuel - A then unknown (outside France and Japan) media company with several commercials, 4 short segment cartoons and two French Japanese Anime Co-productions under their belt.
After moving on to DiC, Andy would work with its founder Jean Chalopin and key animator Bruno Bianchi to create Inspector Gadget #themoreyouknow
The More You Know, indeed. Thank you. DiC has an amazing history, thank you for sharing.
Inspector gadget, the greatest detective of all time….. i’m shocked the estate of Arthur Conan Doyle never sued the creators of inspector gadget
My favorite was Clue Club as well with Jabberjaw as a very close second. I was born in 78’ but I remember watching these and many other Hanna Barbera classics on the USA Cartoon Express! I always thought Inch High Private Eye was a bit of a Mystery Inc clone too. Sure there were teens Lori and Gator and a dog Braveheart but the gimmick was Inch himself who was also uncle to Lori. Another great episode that brings back lots of nostalgia feels!
Clue Club was the best Scooby clone. I loved it. Also, that car on Shmoo reminds me of the car Urkel drove on Family Matters.
LOL, you are so right. I wish I would I would have remembered his car to have mentioned it. CC all the way!

He forgot The Amazing Chan & the Chan Clan. Were they (at least the kids) the first animated non-stereotypical Asians? They had a band, and they had that pet that I couldn't tell if it was a dog or a cat.
That was a Dog named Chu Chu .

I did not forget them, I'm just putting them in a different show about cartoons based on old Hollywood (Charlie Chan). Plus since there dad was around in the cartoon, they didn't quite fit my mold. But I will cover them soon.
I liked the intro
Yes i love that cartoon i have it on dvd lol❤
It was a very comon staple, of Scooby-koockoff TV back then! One of the girls looks just like an Asian Daphne!
I was lucky enough to be born in 1966, so I got to see these 70s classics from the start. As my realm of memory starts in about 71, I must have seen Scooby Do Where are you in re-runs. I saw Josie and Funky Phantom in first run. There's something about stuff I watched in the early 70s that hits my sweet spot. So yea I'd say the Pussycats and Funky Phantom are my favourite Scooby clones by far. I too never saw Fang Face, that and the New Smoo, I guess co-inside with my getting older, so although I still watched Flintstones series made around this time, the last two were off my radar.
You are lucky to have seen many of these in the first run. I was happy to catch them in repeat (a long run of repeats). The great thing is, we had no understanding of time in that respect. We didn't know they were old, they were the first time for each of us, and we have a little emotional connection to so many of them.
Loved the Smoo ❤ & the Great Gazoo from Flintstones
Bravo! Although not a copycat of Scooby Doo.
But "The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan" gets an honorable mention solving mysteries and even being a band.
People love it and keep bringing it up. It is so true, and I have plans for them in another show.
So many I remember! Even “Fangface”! I loved watching Josie and the Pussycats, but my favorite might have to be Speed Buggy. To this day I’m known to pipe up with a “rooma-zoom-zoom!” when driving. That and Sid and Marty Krofft’s Wonderbug were my introduction to the dune buggy.
You are keeping it alive, and that is something to celebrate. Thanks for watching. Oh, and Sid & Marty will get their own whole show in the future. Thanks again.
The super friends had Zan and Jayna there was also a group of mystery. Solving kids led by Mr. T.
I was born in 76. I know and love Scooby-Do because it was one of cartoons I watched on Saturday mornings in the 80s.
IT was simply the first, the original, the BEST>
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness."
This was just the video I've been waiting for! ❤️💚💙
I love you saying that....thank you so much. It was fun and a labor of love.
I did love Captain Caveman and I do have a vague memory of Fangface. Strange, until you mentioned it, I would not have remembered it.
I loved the different animation of Josie & The Pussycats; I've never even heard of about 1/2 the others!
I suppose based on location, some of these just didn't play. I loved the credit animation especially to Josie.
I like almost all of them but, the OG Scooby Doo is and will always be my favorite. I love Josie & the Pussycats, Jabber Jaw & the one with with the orange buggy with blue eyes. 😊
Ahh Saturdays in the morning & cereal, how many memories and joyful times we had. 😁
Enough to last a lifetime I hope. Seeing your Destro Profile pic, I hope you watched my new video on GI Joe Animal Partners
I remember most of these. Scooby was always a little scary for me but I watched it because my big brother did, too. Josie was my favorite!
Scary? Wow. Actually that is kinda cool to hear. Josie was a lot of fun for sure, and I read her comics, too.
I watched all of these at various times when I was growing up in the '70s. Some more faithfully than others.
I really liked both Speed Buggy and Clue Club, and wished they would have gotten more seasons for both.
Agreed on more seasons. Would have been nice. But reruns were ENDLESS.
My personal favorites: Scooby Doo, Josie & The Pussycats, The Funky Phantom, Speed Buggy, and Clue Club. I actually didn’t see Butch Cassidy until the late ‘80s, when USA aired it on their Cartoon Express compilation show.
My least favorites: Jabberjaw (at least until I got older and watched the reruns), the space-age treatment of Josie and the Partridge Family, and Captain Caveman.
Thanks for bringing back some great childhood memories. 😊👍🏾
Thank you for watching and commenting. Great memories, for sure.
I remember just a few of these that you talked about. There is one that I remember from when I was little around 5 maybe 6 and while not really a Scooby-Doo clone it was about a group that solved mysteries. "The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan" from 1972-73. I recently picked up the on-demand DVD set, and I still get a kick out of it!
I enjoyed that show, and I am just saving it for cartoons based on classic Hollywood (Charlie Chan, Stooges, Abbot & Costello, etc).

So many great cartoons. One of my favorites was Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch.

JABBERJAW!!! AAAHHH!! Loved that show so much!!
I wish they had made HUNDREDS more episodes. It was great!
I loved Butch and The Sundance Kids! And my father was always telling me "Thats not Butch Cassidy! Butch Cassidy was an outlaw!"
I can see a dad doing that. It was confusing for like a second for me, but LOVED the music.;
I remember a few years ago when there was a movie about how Daphne and Velma met before meeting Scooby and the others. A movie I'd love to see is how the Teen Angels Brenda, Dee Dee, and Taffy met before they found Capt Caveman.
I remember hearing about it for sure, but probably not up my alley. Did you see it? And yeah, I think a Teen Angel, like Charlie's Angels, would be PERFECT.
You mean you heard about a movie being made like I described?
Unfortunately it wouldn't work, because modern audiences wouldn't know the source material.
The movie could describe the cartoon initially, and older people would surely get the concept.
Scooby-Doo itself was essentially a clone--
characters based on those from the sitcom,
"The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis"...
except they added a dog.
I say Captain Caveman and teen Angels are the best Scooby-Clone.
I like your style and your vote. That one did last for awhile, too.

Interesting alternate Cartoon series attempts back then at Scooby Doo. Herculoids, a cool series. I haven't gotten a chance to see some of these yet. Thanks. Scooby Doo's horror theme remained consistent for that franchise thankfully after all the series made, in that they most times didn't span out into just regular crimes or non-horror mysteries.
Perhaps that has been Scooby's success. I love the great one-off movie storyline, too. Oh, you're so right about Herculoids. Hated missing that one on Saturdays.
Funny… I watched every one of these shows except Butch Cassidy. Loved them all! Guess that’s where I got my fascination with mysteries! Cartoons and then the Hardy Boys! 😉
I watched whichever one was conveniently on that did not interfere with another favorite.

HA HA, not at all. It was awesome. Especially be so family orientated. You didn't get a lot of that. I am saving that for a different kind of show.
Fantastic content gen xperience! These cartoons were an integral part of my childhood growing up in the Uk during the 1970's! The 1970's were a wonderful time! Thank you.

My favs: Scooby doo, clue club, valley of the dinosaurs, speed buggy, hong kong phooey, great grape ape, jabberjaw, josie and the pussycats and Godzilla.
Great video, I remember the most of those shows, I was lucky to see the Misteries Cartoon Sundays on the Colombian Cartoon Network during the 90s,
By the way, there are 2 shows that You maybe forgot:
The Clan Chan, a show about a Chinese Detective and his 8 sons and daughters solving misteries,
The Plastic Man Show: The adventure and comedy show of the DC Superheroe solving misteries and facing villains teaming-up with the gorgeous Wendy and the Bad Luck Hula-Hula,
Also there was another Hanna-Barbera cartoon of Casper the Friendly Ghost teaming-up with 2 young female police officers in the outer space.
Thanks for the compliment, and I do think all of those fit part of the bill, but I got plans for Chan, lol. Thanks for watching.
The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan was a Scooby Doo Clone. I was surprised Clue Club had only one season. It was pretty popular!
Chan Clan was a clone, except their dad was involved, so I didn't put it in. However, the world noticed it wasn't there, lol. I thought CC was popular as well, and could have kept going.
These were all Sat. AM. Sundays were only Davey & Goliath 🙏🏻 Maybe Gumby & Pokey. But during the week we would run home to Paris @ cold call. Cut around those tracks 🚂
In the UK (IIRC) we only got Fangface, New Shmoo, Captain Caveman (possibly the best and the one that entered the cultural zeitgeist), Goober and the Ghost Chasers, The Funky Phantom and Jabberjaw and only CC was run on repeatedly over the next decade or so.
I like the titles to Butch Cassidy, the animation and art seems a step up from other show intros of the time, some rotoscoping going on?
And did I imagine a number of crossovers at the time? I'm sure Scooby met the team from Goobers at one point.
Love that you mentioned Rotoscoping, as I didn't have time...but it is such a unique technique used during the time and through the very early 80s. Yes, the opening Credits to BOTH Butch and Josie used Rotoscoping for when the band plays. It gives that fluid realistic human motion that I think made us buy into it more. Scooby did meet SPeed Buggy and more recently Funky, not sure about Goober (but quite possible) Thanks for the comment.
My favourite was The Funky Phantom. It was hilarious, well I thought so anyway.
Im 60 now.
Was 8 when I first saw the Funky Phantom.
Blonde April was my very first girl crush❤.
Then 3 years later I met a girl buddy who looked just like her!!
She was my first girlfriend. Her name was Sharon, and for a while,we were inseperable.
Sweet times.😢
Love your first girl crush. T hanks for watching and sharing your memories.
THEY DONT MAKE THESE LIKE THIS ANY MORE SADLY❤😢
You got that right. Sure advancements in animation are sometimes wonderful, but fun happy exciting stories to entertain without a message seem extinct.
Clue Club, Captain Caveman and Jabberjaw are the best ❤❤❤❤
YOu know it!
As a kid, my favourites out of these Scooby copy cats were 'The New Shmoo' and 'Captain Caveman'. I have to say that I absolutely loved Scrappy Doo, when they introduced him to 'Scooby Doo'.
Well, I was not a fan of Scrappy like you, but I certainly enjoyed some Cpt Caveman. Thank you for watching and sharing. This is just a time capsule for people like us.
@@GENXPERIENCE thank you for this in depth look at these cartoons. Only yesterday I was talking to my hubby about how the unmasked villain in Scooby Doo always would've ''..gotten away without if it hadn't been for you pesky kids !''. It was only once I had grown up that I realised I was in the minority for liking Scrappy Doo. As a nipper I could often be heard in the school playground doing the, ''Da da da da dadah ! Puppy power !''. I thought he was so cool. lol ! :)
GOOBER AND THE GHOST CHASERS was up against STAR TREK: THE ANIMATED SERIES. 'Nuff said.
I'm afraid that, at our house at least, Goober was invisible from day one... ;)
Sounds about right. I, too, was not a Goober fan...but ST the animated was absolutely intriguing.
The good old days!
You said, my friend.
One more to add to the list: Casper and the Teen Angels.
That counts as a Scooby-Doo Clone?
I had to look it up, as I didn't remember it. I know Casper, for sure, but him as a guardian ghost to 2 cops in the future was new to me. Although a nice find, not sure I would give it the teen mystery solver treatment, but thanks for "clueing" me in.

"Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery That Mediocrity Can Pay To Greatness." That is the whole quote.
And they paid it forward to be sure, as is evident by the millions of us who loved the COPY CATS> Thank you for sharing.
Hanna-Barbera poked fun at how many times they copied themselves with this genre on the show Laff-a-lympics. The Scooby-doobies team would often feature characters from the many different H.B. Scooby clones.
Clue Club was also my favorite of the clones. David Joliffe who voiced Larry had a sexy voice. And Wimper and Woofer were quite funny.
I love any black old-fashioned characters ❤
I didn’t know that! Curly the voice for Jabber-Jaws! Lol fun-learning things
Well, whether it was the real Curly or not is one thing...I think it was a sound alike.
In addition to Casey Kasem voicing both Shaggy Rogers and Alexander Cabot, the former often said “zoinks” while the latter often said “yoinks”.
Now that is something I never noticed. Cool, thanks.
Without a doubt my all-time favorite was Captain Caveman. Cavey and Hong Kong Fooey were my top two favorites.
Cpt Caveman will go down in history. Thanks for watching.
Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels was definitely a Scooby Doo clone 😂
You betcha. That is why it made the list. Cavey being Scooby of course.
Just watched the video, and I enjoyed it.
Clue Club has really grown on me over the years...mainly because Woofer and Wimper were the comic relief, and I kinda sorta maybe had a bit of a thing for Dottie.
Dottie is my absolute favorite in Clue Club because she's sassy and spunky, but the only thing they really did wrong in the show is have the older kids act as jerks to Dottie, but its understandable, because in that line of work, you make enemies, so that was their way of protecting Dottie.
lol. Adorable, and I'm glad it grew on you. I could see CC in live action.
Indeed.
Most guys would probably go for Pepper, but she doesn't stand out like Dottie.
CC in Live Action would be interesting...especially if they get Dottie's voice actor Tara Talboy involved, since David Joliffe(Larry) and Patricia Stitch(Pepper are older now.
The only thing I'd really change is instead of Larry, Pepper, and D. D. act like jerks to Dottie is have them have a more heart to heart on why they don't want her on the field with them, because that actually could have backfired on them in a few ways.@@GENXPERIENCE
First time seeing the GEN Xperience…noice! All the dune buggy ‘toons remind me of the ‘live action’ cartoon Wonderbug. Loved that show so much, I convinced my parents to get vanity plates for our convertible vw bug. Good times.
I remember Wunderbug, but just slightly. However, I know he had TONS of fans. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the support.
Completely agree with you about Clue Club. Definitely my favorite of the ones you mentioned. I watched it during the 80's on USA network's Cartoon Express. Woofer and Wimper were a great duo, and I liked all the kids. The mysteries were pretty fun to try and figure out. Also love the theme song.
Great song...but yeah, why not expand that one out of them all. Time for reboot...but they would ruin it.
Great rundown on the original Scooby Doo series and the following cartoons patterned after them. Most I remember, but some, like Fangface, I don't. Interesting how the Scooby Doo characters were copied in the other shows, not only in personality, but looks, such as Shaggy and Tinker. Some, like Jabberjaw, I thought were just too silly. Have you thought of doing a series about animated shows from the mid to late 1960s. Some of those have been released on DVD, but some haven't, like Hot Wheels. Sky Hawks, and The Cattanooga Cats.
THanks for watching and the comment. And for reminding me of Cattanooga Cats
Just came across this video and your channel. Love it. Subscribed as soon as the video ended. Born in 1967. Scooby Doo has always been my all-time favorite cartoon character. All the cartoons you mentioned I've watched, except for Butch Cassidey and the Sundance Kids. I've heard of it but never watched it. Several I own on DVD with more DVD purchases in the future. Of those listed, Josie and the Pussycats (and in Outer Space) would have to be my favorites. Looking forward to exploring your channel. Thanx for the retro fun!

Hello there! I just discovered your channel. Great job on analyzing all these cartoons. One of my friends once told me that, in his opinion at least, the cartoon Meatballs & Spaghetti from the early 1980s was also a late addition to the emulators of Scooby-Doo. Meatballs & Spaghetti were a husband-and-wife team (matching their names, a big rotund long-haired guy and his hot blond thin wife) who were in a touring rock band with a dog playing the drums. The dog acted as the comic relief character in most episodes. Their vehicle was a mobile home, or RV, as they say, in which they travelled from town to town. The show was in re-runs several times in the 1990s and into the '00s in my area. It used the rock band trope and had a music video once per episode much like Jem had later.
Really? If this is ringing a bell, I think I am simply making it up in my head, because I can't place this. Alright, I am looking it up, just for me, so I too can be in the know. Thank you for watching, and more importantly adding to my knowledge with something new.
@@GENXPERIENCE Thank you very much, and it's nice to be of assistance. Trust me, Meatballs & Spaghetti was very real... (apart from being among my favorite dishes growing up)

Clue Club was the bomb, I'm glad you also noticed the similarity of dogs to Aristocats Napoleon and Lafayette (those two stole the show from the cats).
You did too? I wonder how many did notice. They were kind of close. Thanks for noticin' and commenting.
I was born in 68 so I wasn't able to watch Scooby Doo where are you in 69 But I saw it in reruns in the 70s plus all the spin offs and I saw the Scooby clones when they first aired.
As it was released in 69, I too saw it in reruns. They played it for years. I had no concept it was from so much earlier. Eventually, like you, it caught up with me, lol.
Im only 1:30 in and wondering if Dobie Gillis was gonna get a mention as the ‘inspiration’ for the Scooby gang, as admired by some of the Hanna Barbera staff.
Hmmm, do you mean Maynard as Shaggy? I would watch that show in reruns later in life, and TOTALLY see the likeness. Good eye
I would love to see some of these “Scooby-Doo clones” get revival shows! Especially Captain Caveman & the Teen Angels, Speed Buggy, Fangface and maybe even Jabberjaw
Or even LIVE ACTION
Scooby-doo and these other clones need the ultimate crossover.
You are not wrong.
I remember scooby from when i first came to this country, along with flintstones and gumby it is some of my earliest memories of america.
My fav of the clones was funky phantom which did break the pattern a little since the two guys-both voices by mickey dolenz, were constantly squabbling over the girl.
Thank you for sharing your first memories. Scooby is a good one to have. They each did have their own uniqueness, to be sure.
I take that you've seen the Mystery Incorporated episode titled "Mystery Solving State Club Finals"? So many of those Scooby Doo clone cartoons mentioned in your vid have prominent roles in that episode, it's the only reason I know half of the character featured here!
I LOVED Mystery Incorporated. Such a great reboot/sequel.
Growing up, I remember watching Josie and the Pussycats (and the space version), Jabberjaw, Speed Buggy, Shmoo (as well as the Flintsones version), and Fangface, as well as my personal favorite, Captain Caveman, which I own on DVD. My kid, who at nearly 19 remains a fan of Archie comics, has the full run of Josie and the Pussycats on DVD. We also have the Laff Olympics and Wacky Races, which brought the whole HB universe of the time together, making it my first experience with a "cinematic universe."
And of course, Fred and Barney had their own wacky sidekick for a while, the alien "Great Kazoo," if I remember correctly.
Thank you for sharing. What I love most is that you kid still reads Archie Comics. I was DEFINATELY still reading them at that age, too. They were awesome fun.
@@lwnasidh The Great Gazoo. He was a bit of an annoying character.
All of them were quite entertaining
You got that right. Thanks for watching.
Clue Club will always be my favorite and I really wish it had lasted longer.
It certainly should have.
My favorites were, and still are Fang Face, capt. Caveman and Jabberjaw.
And who says we can't have Saturday mornings anymore? Just buy some DVDs of your favorite cartoons and watch them on Saturday mornings.
We got a Fangface lover, here. Good for you. I turn a block of them on youtube saturday mornigns sometimes...actually turn on the old commercials mostly.
Well, the 1st season was fun, they just wrecked everything when added the baby werewolf.
