Taper Turning Attachment - Explained

- The Taper Turning Attachment is a specialized equipment for turning tapers on a lathe. It is very similar to copying a profile onto the job.
This video shows the various parts of a taper-turning attachment, and how it works, using animation of 3D CAD models for explanation of the concept.
The SolidWorks models will show step by step, how to install and use the attachment.
The various parts include a Guide Bar, a Draw Bar, a Slider that slides over the Guide Bar, etc.
The Draw Bar is connected to the Cross Slide, while the Cross-Feed Screw is disengaged.
The model also shows the motion of the tool, along the taper angle, in an animation.

One word - Awesome. May God bless you. Make more videos on manufacturing process subject for 2nd year students. :)
Gives a clear ideas about every subtopic related to lathe machines
Animation adds to it..
Hope you make many more videos like these on every subject in mechanical engineering!
Thank you very much
Very good explanation and animation
Clear and concise animation
Very clear and informative.
What an animation 👌 which is clearly understood
This short video made me understand what 2 pages and 30 mins of struggle couldn't.
Gives clear idea thank you
Well explained 👍
Your taper turning attachment works on a similar principle to one on my Harrison lathe. One problem I have found when cutting a taper towards the chuck is with the backlash, which is usually taken up when setting the tool read to cut. As the cross slide is pushed from the back, backlash is taken up from the back instead of the front. So a short parallel is cut while the backlash is taken up and the taper turning starts to work. To rectify this I always cut from the chuck end to the back. This way the cross slide is pulled to the back and the backlash can be taken up as usual before the cut starts.
Good explanation in very little time

Hi.
The attachment looks wonderful, any chance we could purchase the same from you ?
Please publish one video related to taper turning by offsetting tail-stock method
We published a video like you requested. Please visit us and give us more suggestions. Hope you like it.
tq
Where do you get steel toe cap sandals ?
I like his safety boots.
Haha !! We took this video when the workshop was closed down, so it was not a major safety issue at the time. But yes, that's an oversight.
Please make video on geared head stock
Sir taper turning me depth of cut kis se dete h cross slide se ya compound slide se reply must
I have a question.... If we set the cutting tool just below the centre of workpiece.... What type of surface of taper will generate ?? Please clarify it to me....

Hii I will like to purchase this machine
Will you help me?
How you make this animations?
Through inbuilt Animation in SolidWorks
1:49. not screw, but bolt.
lathe chuck is rotating the wrong direction
between that NOISE of pulsating notes and the popup advertisements combine to make this video useless. the explanation of the operation seem to hidden in the noise and adds.
Thanks for the suggestions. We'll take care in our next videos. Kindly keep visiting.
SANDALS??!
+72golfcrazy Didn't get you ?
We were told never to wear sandals in the machine shop. Hot chips, sharp object penetration..etc
Other than that, good video.
