You're going to need a bigger tank than that for a fahaka 150 gallon is a minimum I started mine out in a 75 and within a year I moved him into a 150 he could have stayed in the 75 for a bit longer but I don't like moving fish so I went to his forever tank as soon as I could I'm guessing yours is 6months to 9 months depending on what you are feeding him or her I have a ton of puffers and love them cool fish hope the move went well and he or she stays healthy
good dog
Glad the move went smoothly for them, I'm sure they'll love their new home. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and your family 🙂
Fahaka didn't kill guppies?
Greetings sir! I was chuckling at you planting and they kept floating up....I hate that! A hint to all...using your tweezers, after you push the plant into the soil, start to wiggle the tweezers as you release the plant and continue to wiggle them a little as you pull them all the way out of the substrate. The slight wiggle causes the substrate to cave in around the plant and keep it in place. ....just sharing a technique that world for me!
I like the look of the tank, mine are very natural looking too, and imagine the puffer will love it.
Merry Christmas my friend
Hi Mate
Can you tell me what plants will survive in brackish water
I'm not too sure to be honest - I know some people keep things like Anubias, some crypts and java moss - but never really done it myself
That’s a awesome lil setup for him😁👍🏼. Thanks for sharing Graeme
Your tanks always look great so was hoping for some help I have white sand in my 4ft and I am so frustrated with keep having to clean the it . Was wondering if I could add some black sand to it and if so how would you suggest to add the black to the sand already in the tank ... I have removed the fish already thanks
No getting around it - it's a bit of a faff!
I try to keep my light sand clean by adding a few powerheads to direct flow to the substrate to lift the crap and let the filter take car of it - but if you want to replace substrate you can either just add the black sand and mix it in (or it will mix itself over time) or drain it, remove the old sand, then add the new.
Nice tank cute paffer
Thanks
I wonder if he'll ever decide that the Black Ghost Knife fish is lunch? The knife fish is quite impressive and healthy-looking!
Fish shepherding sometimes works better if you use a clear container. Fahaka pop here. Like the new digs. Hope he does as well. I've two black ghosts, same tank, but not with the Fahaka. They get along well, so far. Thanks for the update.
Great idea on the clear container!
Quality video mate it's one of those videos where you rarely come across and automatically subscribe
Cool
Nice vid! Thank you for sharing!
I have a 2x2x2 cube tank I'm just about ready to aquascape . . but I'm really struggling with ideas for the layout/design. . I know I want height in there but can't think of a good looking design. . any ideas or any places I could look for inspiration? love your work by the way. . nice to see someone who keeps fish and keeps the fish health top of the list. . unlike some others we know!!! (from Canada)
Check out George Farmer - he has a few square tank scapes on his channel, and some nice simple explanations on how to approach things and give yourself the best chance to make something look good.
I asked him a very similar question recently and his answer was basically 'don't be afraid of the hardscape' meaning be bold with the rocks and or wood.
@@AquariumAdventures Yeah I already follow George. He does like a short sharp answer so iv not bothered asking him. All iv had is one word answers there. Thanks anyway tho keep up the good work! Thanks for the plants too my wife bought me 6 I think when you took a load out of your discus tank
Hi buddy, getting a fahaka next week. in your experience what is the best filter for them
I don't think I would recommend a specific filter for a Fahaka - something with high capacity, the Fahaka is (or will be) a big messy fish,
Nice..!!
Hi, I have a question for you as an experienced discus-keeper! I would love to keep a pair of blue discus, can I keep them in a tank with dimensions 80 cm x 35 cm x 55 cm (water level at 51 cm) ? Ofcourse using a proper (cannister) filter, I have RO water since I have a saltwater tank as wel. Thanks in advance!
You can keep a pair in a tank that size while breeding, but it's not really big enough to keep them long term, as they prefer to be in groups of 5 or 6 minimum which would need a larger tank.
@@AquariumAdventures Thanks! And how about a tank with dimensions 130 cm x 35 cm x 50 cm (water level at 46 cm)? Would you keep 5/6 discus in there?
Yes that would be a great size for a group.
Shrek?
how do you gravel wash without losing a finger?
quickly and carefully!
How many gallons is the tank
I think it works out at around 65 gallons
What tool is that? Moving at back?
Do you mean this - amzn.to/2U7bJOg
It's brilliant!
