Hi, wanna check can seachem paraguard use as a preventive or only in quarantine tank?
when cycling your tank how often should we test the water to make sure its ok for the fish?

Just imagine what it’s like being a pet fish. You get to fly all the time, it occasionally rains food, use the bathroom anywhere- and if you’re the biggest in your tank, you can doesn’t bite whoever annoys you.

Rama is amazing. He talks to the things he knows, but admits to not knowing everything so he is not condescending and never takes the superior talk down position. Just an amazing fish keeper doing the hobby good. We need more Rama's in the hobby to make it better and more enjoyable for all of us. I'm not sure why that bald guy kept butting in, but I guess it is OK since it IS his channel lol. Great clip John. Love the content as always.

The only mbu puffers I've seen before has been Murphy & Ladybird. Thank you to you, Rama, and his employee for introducing us to Marty! I Would love to have one of these water puppies one day but, for now I will enjoy watching Videos from you and Cory. Thanks again!☺️

Go check out La Vaca over at Ohio Fish Rescue. She might not represent the species as a whole, but Josh and Rich found out quick... just not quick enough... that she can NOT have tank mates. She chomps every fish they've tried so far.

It depends if the species of puffer and the specific puffer personality
Some puffer can only be kept alone and some do fine with most community fish. Mbu puffers like in the video mostly do fine with fish that don't bother it. But it also depends a lot on the individual puffer. Puffers may eat any fish it wants. You never know.
Puffers are fine until they get the munchies. Then everything looks like a bag of chips.

I feed frozen apple snails to my Spotted Congo Puffers. They love it. But to get them try I had to move the puffers attention to the food by using a laser pointer.
Glad to know about the tank size and feeding requirements. Not for me.

Hey got a question for you. I’m interested in using Fritzyme 7 to boost the cycling of the tank. I plan to do the cycle without fish, so should I drop fish food to “feed” the bacteria until I get 0 ammonia and nitrites and only nitrates?
I'm getting a shirt and the eucalyptus root Wednesday! Hopefully it's available then for me. Also if I end up getting a 10 gallon tank I'll probably get getting a samurai betta if I don't get a platinum dragon. I got a plakat betta now with two different colored eyes and a black mouth that makes it look sad all day lol

John and Lisa, thanks for the great video! I got a quick unrelated question. I am thinking in investing in a 535 black arowana tank with 2-3 motoro stingrays. For filtration I was going to copy Cory's 800g aquarium sump setup. I was wondering if you recommend discus for that a tank that size with the ray and arow? If you do, how many discus do you think I could do? Thank you for all your great vids!

What tank size are you thinking? And I would encourage you do research on the nitrogen cycle, also I always recommend live plants
Hey, I have a question. Yesterday I applied a some algae remover to my tank now my tank is spotless and clean but my fish, they don’t move and just lay at the bottom of the tank they only come out to eat and it’s been like that sense yesterday. Do you know what could have happened?
It sounds like that had some really bad effects on them. I would recommend doing a large water change immediately and maybe try finding the source of the algae and fix it instead of using chemicals

I have a Betta question. I've recently taken on a friend's established tank and would love to add a male Betta but I wanted to check whether it would be OK to do so with the fish that I already have. Its a 100l tank containing 2 rosy barbs, 1 chinese algae eater, 1 clown loach, a few tetras and minnows and a really peaceful opaline Gourami. There's no conflicts at all between any of them but will a male Betta upset the balance?
I know this is a year old, but just in case someone else has a similar question. You usually have to worry about other fish bullying your Betta than the other way around. Barbs are fin nippers and will nip at the Betta fins and harm them so they're not good tank mates for them. They need a similar sized tank buddy that won't hurt their flowy fins.
Can anyone help me. My arowana is bitting its own tail. I have clearing the tank day by day after this incident (30%of water).And my arowana is sometimes stay at the corner of the aquarium for long time. But my arowana is eating good. What medicine do i use. Plz help my

Yeah people prob meant pea puffers...those are tiny and much more likely for home aquarists.
@@brieoshiro those were my first puffers. Then Spotted Congo. Now I am looking into Hairy Puffer. But I just dont have the resources for t mbu.

Weird, you get an awesome fish,but you never get to see it puff up? I assume the fish is unhappy when it puffs, or do they get morning puff?
Hopefully you never see them puff because that would mean they are very stressed
