Damn 10 year to late where have you been all my life my friend such a good cover and lesson amazing 👏
Thank you so much. Even a decade ago, it was an enjoyable experience. Glad that it's bringing you something interesting.
I thought this was a riff lesson! Well played by the way
Hi Luis. Thanks for the positive comments. You are correct, this is more "how to write in the style of" rather than a straightforward "this is the riff" lesson. I have made only one of those for "Eye of the Storm" as Adam and Joel from KsE do an excellent job of showing their own playing. I try to go a step beyond that.
@@Boyanbo thanks for the response! Really like your tone and timing playing this amazing song! Keep it up!
Thank you very much.
That is the reason I made all the KsE videos, and I am very glad that
it's reached the proper hands and ears.
Cheers
That guitar is sick. I want that shit...
Appreciate it brother \\mm//
THAT EMOTION.
Thank you. Good music does that yeah?!
Good cover. Def one of the fastest fills during the verse that killswitch has.... Nice job man
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Thank you so much. I love this track!
Thank you so much! This is on of my KsE favorites.
Thanks Michael! Yeah, parts here are not as diabolical as some on Reject Yourself but it took some time to nail it. Fun time :)
Thank you! I live to play ;)
Thanks man
I love your guitar play. So sweet.
Thank you. Do you play guitar as well?
Boyan Boiadjiev
No good! But you inspired me.Thank you!
I'm waiting for you post new video of playing heavy metal song.
That's very kind. I certainly hope so. I have a slow-play version of Eye of the storm by KsE again; or I can record a custom video lesson for you for cheap.
Man you're pretty cool , i like how you play the chorus riff like it's a piece of cake. Awesome work and thanks for your tutorial video.
Thank you very much. Hope you enjoy it!
Laurie,
Thanks for the positive feedback.
I've seen your stuff and it is awesome. I'm jealous that you even have a band going. Way to go!
Thank you so much! It took a little work but I was pleased with the result :)
I appreciate your kind words!
This is EPIC!! :D ^^
Awesome cover! But I came looking for a playthrough lesson.
Thank you for your comment. I only did a playthrough for Eye of the Storm from the same album. There is a lot of material to draw from each song, so I wanted to keep it short.
best cover i ever seen!
Thank you very much!
I don't blame you, its an incredible track! :D
This is amazing, all of your videos are. Will you be doing more uploads?
Hi and thanks very much. I plan to do some techniques and patterns in the near future. Working on original material has taken up lots of time, but It has been very fruitful! Cheers
Thanks very much. If you are a big KsE fan, as I am, I have a strong feeling you'll like my other videos...
Thank You Very much for the lesson! Nice Work!
Thank you so much
No problem!
Ahh thank you! I'm glad you like it!
You're not in a band?! How is that possible? You should find a band! You NEED to be in a band! You're too good! :)
Lo tendrías en un par de semanas ;)
Ahh awesome! I love acoustic music! I'll check it out :)
Yes, I do like the stuff you've recorded and polished!
I know - the band thing is killing me. I live between countries - US and Bulgaria and it's tough to get a good gig.
Lastly - you're too kind. I try :D
Can you do a lesson on the main riff and chorus riff please
Hi Chris! Sorry, there hasn't been enough time to take care of this. Let me know if you've found solution for this by now. - B
Boyan Boiadjiev there is no rush just let me know when it’s up please 👍
Hi,
It's a rather tricky legato passage that appears later in the chorus as well.
Please go to the TAB link below, and you will see it in bar 4 of the transcription.
Let me know how you get on with it.
Cheers
How do you play the lick from 0:10 to 0:11
Very true Laurie! Your wish is my command. I am working on a metalcore album this year. In the meantime can I interest you in something acoustic? You can find it on CD Baby - Boyan Boiadjiev - ...Prime?
Ahh right I see, this is where places like the internet come in handy.
Get a band together, record some songs, put them up on iTunes/Spotify, get a video down and if you're good/lucky enough maybe people will find you for gigs. :)
3:45
It's in the tab ;)
where did you get the back?
Hi there,
I actually didn't use a backing track. I lowered the volume over the guitar parts on the original track - removing some mids - and re-rerecorded all the guitar parts over the track. Then mixed it together. Long process, but very rewarding!
Oh, great! but, you use any program for that?
Edson Maia It was all done in Pro Tools Edson.
TY man, and you're doing a great job, congrats!!!
Brilliant cover you've got here! It's nice to see both guitars covered :)
Check out my new guitar cover of this song on my channel!
You played the whole song but only included a lesson for the boring clean part?? People wanna learn those riffs and leads!
I taught what I felt was the most interesting part, i.e. the harmony that makes the song work :)
Nice cover… but why are teaching only the least exciting part? I was hoping for a full song lesson!!!
Appreciate the comment! At the time I felt that the last part gives me the opportunity to cover a lot of ground and to showcase the harmony behind the riff - so that people can build their own. Teaching the entire song would have taken another 30 minutes and if people just want to play the song without learning the techniques behind it, usually go to the tab and be done with it. I always want to dive deeper.
@@Boyanbo Thx for your response :) didn‘t expect one. Ok that‘s a plausible answer👍 I feel that! And don‘t get me wrong. It‘s an awesome cover. Really well played and you picked an awesome tone. It‘s a hard song but you play it effortless🤘
@@dgfeeder9801 Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll be doing a series of lessons this summer that will focus more on the Pentatonic from 0mph to 60mph.
This is useless. You fool us all into thinking you will teach us the song and you teach us the easiest part of it. What about the technical chorus riff, that's what I want to get some tips on.
Hey dude, I encourage you to check out the full tab for the song.
The chorus section is more of a technical exercise, as you point out. Go directly to bar 65 on the tab to see how that part looks like. The only pro tip I can give you there is to keep the surrounding strings muted with your right hand to keep that part clean. Cheerio
Boyan Boiadjiev I know the frets etc. but do I use ho/po or do I pick every note?
Alex051993 Correct. It's mostly an ho/po affair. If we divide the phrase into 2:
X 8 note patterns - you pick 1, 4, 5 (first group) - and 1 and 5 (second group);
I'm not sure if that's exactly how Adam and Joel play it, but that's as close as you can get to the tone :) As always, it does take some experimentation, which for me is most of the fun :-D
Boyan Guitar Thanks a lot :D
