    Rust-oleum "Sun Yellow" is a great match for JD Yellow. It's only 6.95 here in Florida. I actually like it better as it's just a touch deeper yellow.

    My 2008 JD la115 model came with the greaseable spindles. The plastic covers have an access hole in line with the nipples to be able to grease them. Thought that was a useful improvement from JD. Too bad their decks rust so badly Maybe if they were aluminum like some Honda's have.

      Able to add grease should be a requirement. I wish they would build the decks out of stainless steel, but then I would have less mud mowers. Thanks for watching!!

    Got the inspiration from you to make our first mud mower, picked up a Murray for free from a neighbor and got it running the same day. Now it’s been pulley flopped and swapped on the back from a 9in to a 6. Of course the belt was an inch to short so back to the store for the 3rd time in the last 2 days. Making a Video soon on it if you want to check it out. Thanks for the great videos.

      chud327, yeah that would look pretty funny me siting out in the parking lot working on the mower on my trailer, but I probably have done that anyway. Got the belt today still the wrong size, darn clutch/brake pedal was set in parking brake when I measured it. 🤦‍♂️ Video might be a bit later if my luck goes on like this. 🤣

    John Deere's decks were so much better designed than mtd decks. Better air flow,better spindles,better attachment points,and better adjustment points. I've a 2013 cub cadet ltx1040 that's been a good reliable machine,but I've always struggled to keep a good cut. With g5 gatorblades it cuts pretty good as long as the grass isnt to high. Mtd's old deck designs only had height adjustments on one side and mine has dropped over the years. If I level it its maximum cutting height is now only 3",which is ok,but just.

    What do you think about cutting holes in the pulley covers so you can grease the spindles without pulling the deck?

    Did I tell you this? If I did I'll delete. You might have some new viewers.
    A friend in the army was sitting on his bunk and sobbing. I asked "What's the matter, Johnny? Did you get a Dear John letter?" He answered, "No, this is a John Deere letter. We've been saving for a new tractor and the money I've been sending home from my Army pay put us over the top. Here's the picture. Ain't she a beauty (sniff)?"

    Why did you not take the brake pully assembly apart? Did you just want to do it the easy way? or did you not know how to do it? Seems like a incomplete video. Kind of misleads the viewers that do now know how to do this type of job. And that are trying to learn.

    • @chud327
      @chud327  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess I need to change the title to how to change spindles. There was nothing wrong with the brakes, why take them apart. If the customer had wanted new brakes, it would have been in the video. Sorry if anyone feels mislead and thanks for watching.

    Takes a 10 and a 15 mm socket , should only take about 45 minutes!
