Never would have thought that I'd Finally find a tutorial that explains EVERYTHING bit by bit, stupid question after stupid question. I feel like a kid, learning about the universe again, and it's awesome. Seriously, one thing I'm even more glad for, is finding this series months after the first episode, so now I can binge-learn at my own pace!)

Just wanted say thanks for this beginner series. Watched the first two parts and you explain everything in a very easy to understand fashion. Been on the fence if I should get into music production, learning to use a DAW, but after finding these videos I might just give Ableton live a go.
My goal is to be able to create some rave/techno songs to use when I'm exercising. Train cycling and thought it would be cool to have music tailored to fit my cycling workouts. So tempo adjusted to fit specific interval sessions and whatnot. Just seemed like a fun thing to do. :)

Watch these tutorials on the biggest screen possible. If you’re watching on an IPhone, use the two finger “expand” gesture to
Zoom in on the section of the Ableton screen to see what Taetro is describing.
I’m redoing my setup to put a 32 in hdtv on my desk to prevent blindness from those little Ableton typefaces.

Thanks great tutorial. Minor point that all TH-camr contributors need to consider. I had eye surgery a couple years ago, saved my vision but I do have difficulty tracking cursors when watching TH-cam. At work I've had to enlarge my cursor a bit which helps greatly. I supervise a State level training program and have asked all my staff to enlarge cursors during Teams meetings and have gotten a very positive response from our agency. Pls consider this for your slightly visually challenged fans.

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  ปีที่แล้ว

Hey Dan - I've heard from a lot of people on the cursor size. Of course there's nothing I can do now for these already recorded courses BUT
I've just increased my cursor to like 3x size, and I've also made it yellow, with a black border. Wasn't sure on the color, but if there's any better color for accessibility, please let me know!

@9:39 goodbye, little spinning friend. (I didn't think he was real! haha)
but for real, i have been messing around in ableton live 11 lite since I got my launchkey a week or two ago; reading documentation for both trying to figure out how to do stuff but HOW DID I NOT KNOW THESE VIDEOS EXISTED. i'm psyched! and I really needed something like this because right when i was starting to make stuff that almost sounded like music... my office ceiling started leaking!! I moved (most) of my electronics to the living room yesterday but it's so noisy and chaotic here I can barely concentrate. --i mean, what I'm trying to say is thank you, again.
I do have a little piece of advice I don't think you covered here: the 'return to arrangement' button. If your arrangement track recording is semi-transparent and won't play back, click on "back to arrangement" in the top corner. Pretty sure this happens if you had been messing around in the session view and didn't completely stop.

Thank you so much for making this and for free! Your tutorials have been the most comprehensive and well paced for beginners like myself. I was wholly intimidated by the UI at first but after learning just how intuitive and easy to use it is from your first video, it's not too bad.

amazing explanation, i recently bought a midi controller for learning and create music and this video made it easy for those who never used a recording software.

Thank you for an excellent review of how the program works. This is my first time trying a DAW program. I play guitar and I'm starting to realize that I have to start playing with metronome again. If you play yourself, it's not that careful.
    Regards 😎

Loved the tutorial, even though I already use ableton since ableton 9, it's still a nice way to remind where some settings are, cuz of last year I've made the transition to fl (most of the guys I work with use fl, so I had to adapt).
Big ups man! Love yo stuff! Keep the good work up!
    Peace from Romania!

ive been using reaper since 2019 but have been getting the idea that I needed a new DAW for looping and getting the most out of my akai mpk mini. Great job thank you

Reaper is great but Ableton is a whole different beast!

@Taetro you commented as I was going through part 3. :) this series has been my daily homework before work. I was getting confused cause my mpk was making no sounds when plugged in. Turns out it does not want to be routed using an extension USB. Plugged straight into the PC and it worked straight away. 💗
