    Last month, I bitched on the Ableton forum that, despite an enormous number of Live tutorials, it was hard to find one that was truly for beginners. I spent weeks struggling with one "course" after the other, constantly getting roadblocked when the speaker referred to some function, icon, or operation that he hadn't explained in earlier lessons. Sloppy lecturers always seemed to assume, sooner or later in a series, that a "beginner" would already know how to make some icon appear and then know to click that icon to perform some function or setting that needed to be performed behind-the-scenes in order to continue following the tutorial. For this reason, I found myself needing an entire afternoon to get through 5 minutes of a "beginner" video. And I'm not merely a clueless newbie -- I've been using music software since, jeez, the first version of Cakewalk.
    Well, Taetro is the exception. Dude, you're the Holy Grail. Through 7 of his beginner lessons, I've had to stop only 2 or 3 times, and those all in the first lesson or two. I'm VERY impressed with the thought and skill that went into organizing and presenting this material. I'm now pretty confident -- FINALLY! -- that I can use the Live Suite to perform the mixing & mastering operations I'm interested in.
    Congratulations, Taetro! You should be proud of what you've created here. Your series stands head and shoulders above any of the others I've tried to get through -- including those produced by Ableton itself! Nice friggin' job.
    Thank you!!

    In last five years I've watched a ton of videos on learning Ableton, none of them were as helpful and eye opening as much as your videos are! one of the reasons that I was not able to make music because I couldn't use Ableton properly! I am watching the series over and over each time I notice something new in it, meanwhile the way you are teaching it feels like hanging out with you, I don't think anyone else have it explain better than you across the internet! Cheers mate

    Btw, if you're on windows and the plugins you installed went into non-default folders and live can't find them, you can make a shortcut of that folder (right-click, create shortcut) and put it in your main default folder. That way live will scan the shortcutted folder too.

    • @lucasabdo4260
      @lucasabdo4260 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Damn thanks for the great advice! When I was starting out I set it to scan the whole program files folder, and Live took FOREVER to load lol, learned my lesson and nowadays I send everything to a single folder.

      Wow cool! installed XO drums and ableton couldn't see it. I just cut the .dll file to default folder but yours is way better, thanks.

    Taetro, I am a 14 yo musician and I am starting to get into producing. I found out that my audio interface came with ableton live lite and was so excited! When I opened it however, I knew I was in for the long haul. I watched a couple videos about getting started, but having to jump from teacher to teacher, concept to concept, it was so overwhelming. Just yesterday I stumbled on your video series and decided to spend my weekend powering through all of them. I was shocked by how good you are at teaching and how helpful all this is. Thank you for helping to equip a young musician, I look forward to actually being able to make music in ableton now lol. Thanks a lot man,
    Den

    I am a big fan of templates. I did not change the default template, instead I just open Live, and choose a template depending to the kind of music I want to make. I would like to see the possibility to make more collections, and/or have the ability to make nested collection lists.

    Hey man i need your help because this is driving me crazy. I am trying to find out what the best export settings are on ableton for spotify as well as what the best settings are for running your session up to the point where you would export it for spotify. would you want to run your session in 48khz - 32bit, then once you have mixed & mastered your song, you export it at a downsampled 44.1khz & a dithered 16bit or 24bit file? (which bit?) & also which dither option would you want to use? triangular? I cant believe there's not one good video on youtube about proper export settings on ableton for streaming, you can be the first!

    Hey Taetro is there a way of personalising the UI of Ableton? like having the Midi and Audio Track Viewer or " inspector " on the left and the browser on the right or undocking the mixer havin that on another screen? i just got the trial but i am allready happy so i probably will at some point guy it but havin the " inspector " on the right is unusual and it sort of disturbs me
    is there a way ? i did not find any or maybe i looked at the wrong place
    thank you if you do reply

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad you’re getting into Ableton Live! There’s not really a way to customize the UI - you can toggle things on and off, but you can’t rearrange the windows unfortunately. There is second screen support which could help separate things tho!

    • @IronClan2024

      @@Taetro Thnx alot well actualy i was thinking how will i see the trakcs while the inspector is in my way but saw not only the whole arrangement can be made msmaller but actualy the whole thing moves so the inspector does not realy stay in may way. However i just installed the trial yesterday and looove it ...cant understand why so many say the workflow is to complicated i did not feel one bit unconfortable using it quite the opposite. but please do me a favor and keep on making videos in explaining things because there are a whole lot of things to learn ...allthough i allready made a short track today
