    re-pitch warp mode changes the pitch of the audio loop when stretching it, use it with caution when playing live, i think beats is a bit more safer option
    re-ptich is very cool sound design feature, but for live set i‘d personally used it only for octave up (double time) or octave down (half time)

    Supernicer live Track!

      club/bar dj scenarios are whole different places comparing to scenarios of ableton artists. in clubs you have to play what the people wants and needs to dance including pop songs etc but i suppose where he and similar artists play is like beach venues, private events or his named events where people are coming specifically to listen his production. the biggest downside of ableton djing is the playlist making process, and jumping between songs is hard. you can almost only play one set, and always the same order of songs. but with any djing software/hardware, amazingly easy to create playlists, jump between them and find whatever you and the crowd need.

    • @NiElsir

      The first track is recorded at 122bpm - so he has Ableton set to 122 and all the tracks warped to that BPM. The groove loo he imported is slightly slower (120bpm) so he tells Ableton this - so that the warp feature will playback the 120bpm groove loop at 122bpm, and fit the first track.

    • @EternalJourneys

      Id assign a knob to tempo, do it manually close to 120. Then use the scene change to lock it.@@lasplasuryoutube

    • @EternalJourneys
      @EternalJourneys 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could also potentially do it with clip automation.@@lasplasuryoutube

    • @higherself7129
      @higherself7129 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      One way would be that the first row of clips in the new song have an automation on bpm slowly increasing, and that these clips don't loop. when they reach the right bpm, you set them to auto launch the next row of clips, which should be the same song but further along, say 9 bars in. This is one way of doing it.

      it helps you sync the audio at the same bpm of the project.
      This guy doesnt know how it actually works. He should be using complex mode... Repitch will fuck up the tone of the track

    • @samplesamurai3222
      @samplesamurai3222 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      This guys knows exactly how it works! Re-Pitch guarantees the best possible sound quality when changing the tempo while every other warp mode will gradually decrease quality. In re-pitch the pitch of the song will vary when you change the tempo. That does not matter while staying within the song (with reasonable pitch-range). While mixing with another song the tonality could potentially clash - but that would be only the case if you were in the same or a matching key and would be the case for any other vinyl record for a DJ.
      If you don’t warp, you would have to write every track in the same BPM so: no it is wrong not to warp your audio for a Live Set.

    • @TheMidnightPerverts
      @TheMidnightPerverts 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      no, if you make a minimum change of tempo pitch will change, just like a turntable.
      Ableton´s warping is used exatcly for the oposite of that, we dont want the pitch to change. Thats whats complex mode is for, tries to keep the original pitch. Come on...@@samplesamurai3222

  • @Reggi_Sample

    Using repitch for kicks? 😮 what if your kicks are tuned to the key of the track. I find Beats is the best algorithm for kicks. Ableton you really need to demo other genres as people think ableton is only for house or edm.

    • @EternalJourneys

      Re-pitch is the best mode if you are not changing tempo

    • @Reggi_Sample

      @@EternalJourneys Beats is heavier with a better low end transient response. This is why it says BEATS for Beats lol. Repitch for top loops maybe. If you select repitch for beats you won’t be hitting as hard.
      If I’m not changing tempo I leave it unwarped as that is the truest sound

    • @BangaWangaTschanga

      @@Reggi_Samplealso: since this is about life Sets, leaving clips unwarped is rly tough to make work. And: if you have a tuned kick and have a Tempo change, the relation between pithes stays the same as long as all tracks have repitch mode. But mostly: without Tempo change, repitch should not affect your Clip i think

    • @BangaWangaTschanga

      One more thing: Ableton is marketed to ppl who do Electronic music because if you want to record an orchestra most people just prefer other DAWs that have better features for recording. The unique selling feature of Ableton is it's Life view and a lot of its Features are catered to its core audience because there is also ProTools, Reason, Logic etc out there each having their niche and thats okay.
