I'm literally a complete beginner with production and Ableton, so I think I'm going to have to come back to this when I find out what all the things are that you're saying lol.
I will be back!
Artists never " press stop". This dude has more talent in one hand than all of the people leaving negative comments combined. Its funny how art is too hard for the plain old horrible people inside amd out that the rest of us have to deal with.
Amazing!!! It would be so nice to see more of this kind of videos, with the artist explaining how they prepare for their live set up!!! So good!!!!
Would love to see how he intergrates his 'playing live' sections. Great video! There's not enough of this type of content. I've been stuggling with getting a live set set up. Would love to see more!
super helpful ....cleared a lot of things in my head .
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you
Yeah, really appreciate Felix and Ableton Tips sharing this. I’ve been tryjng to figure out how to do a live set for a long time and this made it really easy to understand. Thanks❤❤
Perfect job man!!!❤
TY TY TY! You explain it so well and so clearly. This has helped me tremendously! ❤🙏 Cheers!
Felix! Freue mich, dich hier zu sehen. Dope! ❤
Very helpful Felix, this Video close my gab for a Session view.
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial. Very talented musician!!!
thank you for this video , realy enjoyed it and learned alot.
Great video, beautiful music, thanks
amazing voice!
great technique! excellent video thanks!
That is hella dope!! Thank you for sharing 💯🎶🔥
Thank you❤
This info is very useful for me . Thanks a lot :)
thank you for this class
Very well thought. The “first loop / whole track / last loop” method is very interesting. Well done and thanks for sharing.
This is cool never thought of that. I guess though he can’t play middle sections of the song on the fly but really cool idea
I really like this guy
Thx a Ton!
I was trying to scroll in Your Set a couple of times....🤐👍
wow! great!
I really like this method, having looping sections premade seems like it would allow a lot of flexibility and stability to a set
Wow nice. Good Music as well
Yes wanna see the setup vid
please
Came to learn Ableton, found Felix Raphael! What an epic track this last one was! The Edge Of My Shade totally vibe with me. Amazing artist and amazing tutorial. Thank You!
Geil Innsbruck.
cheers!
Hell of a load in for that gig
nice lesson
Very good setup, congratulations. Do you have a technical tutorial somewhere on how you connected, routed the whole setup? A detailed tutorial? Thank you.
Very inspiring! Good to se the Akai APC40 II in real use.
Any midi control that works the same?could not find to buy it
@@Dagardmusic I'm kinda still new in music production but a Novation launch control + launchpad could give you similar kinda of control over Ableton
very smart
Very helpful! looking forward to see the gear and setup!
thank you it's beginer friendly
re-pitch warp mode changes the pitch of the audio loop when stretching it, use it with caution when playing live, i think beats is a bit more safer option
re-ptich is very cool sound design feature, but for live set i‘d personally used it only for octave up (double time) or octave down (half time)
I would have thought complex pro
@@qwertySnowy as far as i know, Complex Pro is the most benefitial for vocal stretching
but ofc in general there are no rules - if it sounds good, don't worry about that
Re-pitch is the best to use if you're not changing from the original loop tempo. All the other modes have artefacts.
Cool explain more please!:)
Supernicer live Track!
Nice tutorial
How do you create the steams? do you have another tutorial for this?
Great inspiration
Nice video! Do you export mastered or mixed stems? Do you use any effects on the master like limiter?
i'm curious about that too :) I'm guessing it should be pre-mastered to enhance the whole post-master later
Whats the name of the device Felix is playing the traks from and control the session scean plz? ❤❤
I would like to see how Maschine is integrated into Live. Is it running in the background or integrated as a Plug-in? What is configured on the banks/pads etc?
It would be as a plugin.
¿Alguien sabe cuál es la fecha de lanzamiento del Ableton 12?
What about effects you’re using?
And then when u want to play the next song where u load it? I mean u go 2 scene below on track A?
can someone explain me why he is mixing beginning of track 1 with track 2 instead of the end of track 1?
Do this with the first rebirth and the first magix musicmaker😉
This looked extremely inspiring. I got a question tho, in which scenario do you perform like that? I can only imagine a TH-cam Livestream, or A TH-cam clip rather than a DJ equivalent set in a club / bar. I genuinely want to know :) Nice work tho
I’m trying to figure it out because he said he’s using stems so is the track already produced and arranged?
@@Reggi_Sampleyes
club/bar dj scenarios are whole different places comparing to scenarios of ableton artists. in clubs you have to play what the people wants and needs to dance including pop songs etc but i suppose where he and similar artists play is like beach venues, private events or his named events where people are coming specifically to listen his production. the biggest downside of ableton djing is the playlist making process, and jumping between songs is hard. you can almost only play one set, and always the same order of songs. but with any djing software/hardware, amazingly easy to create playlists, jump between them and find whatever you and the crowd need.

Das Letzte Mahl ❤🇩🇰
Nice technique, just one nooby question: why the groove is wrapped to a different bpm then the other tracks? And how do you work around bpm changes mid set? 🧡
The first track is recorded at 122bpm - so he has Ableton set to 122 and all the tracks warped to that BPM. The groove loo he imported is slightly slower (120bpm) so he tells Ableton this - so that the warp feature will playback the 120bpm groove loop at 122bpm, and fit the first track.
This is a great video. Very clear. Can I ask, does anyone know how to break your track out into STEMS, as he has used for foundation for this live set??
instead of rendering the master track simply choose "selected tracks" or "all individual tracks" in Ableton
Heres a comment! Lets check put the gear setup!
I love you
is this similar to how zeds dead performs?
Does anyone know how to create transitions between two songs that don't have the same BPM, using BPM change automation for example? All in the Ableton clip session mode?
Type the new bpm into the Scene Launch ;)
ok but this is not a "transition" , this a change. If you want to go from a 120 bpm scene to 125 bpm by gradually changing the bpm, how would you do it? @@EternalJourneys
Id assign a knob to tempo, do it manually close to 120. Then use the scene change to lock it.@@lasplasuryoutube
You could also potentially do it with clip automation.@@lasplasuryoutube
One way would be that the first row of clips in the new song have an automation on bpm slowly increasing, and that these clips don't loop. when they reach the right bpm, you set them to auto launch the next row of clips, which should be the same song but further along, say 9 bars in. This is one way of doing it.
I bought the HS7 when really I shouldve bought the HS5. So I had a chuckle when I see you have the HS8, those things must be mental loud. I can imagine the neighbours must hate you hahaha.
The 8s make sense if you need to hear and feel the lowend. Obviously you need tolerant neighbors
Que hace ese tipo colgado ahi?
i dont understand the wrap thing, like literaly all tutos about liveset building saying 'dont wrap stem!" lol
it helps you sync the audio at the same bpm of the project.
This guy doesnt know how it actually works. He should be using complex mode... Repitch will fuck up the tone of the track
This guys knows exactly how it works! Re-Pitch guarantees the best possible sound quality when changing the tempo while every other warp mode will gradually decrease quality. In re-pitch the pitch of the song will vary when you change the tempo. That does not matter while staying within the song (with reasonable pitch-range). While mixing with another song the tonality could potentially clash - but that would be only the case if you were in the same or a matching key and would be the case for any other vinyl record for a DJ.
If you don’t warp, you would have to write every track in the same BPM so: no it is wrong not to warp your audio for a Live Set.
no, if you make a minimum change of tempo pitch will change, just like a turntable.
Ableton´s warping is used exatcly for the oposite of that, we dont want the pitch to change. Thats whats complex mode is for, tries to keep the original pitch. Come on...@@samplesamurai3222
Using repitch for kicks? 😮 what if your kicks are tuned to the key of the track. I find Beats is the best algorithm for kicks. Ableton you really need to demo other genres as people think ableton is only for house or edm.
Re-pitch is the best mode if you are not changing tempo
@@EternalJourneys Beats is heavier with a better low end transient response. This is why it says BEATS for Beats lol. Repitch for top loops maybe. If you select repitch for beats you won’t be hitting as hard.
If I’m not changing tempo I leave it unwarped as that is the truest sound
@@Reggi_Sampleis there a difference between upitched without tempo change and unwarped? Would be kind of strange, no?
@@Reggi_Samplealso: since this is about life Sets, leaving clips unwarped is rly tough to make work. And: if you have a tuned kick and have a Tempo change, the relation between pithes stays the same as long as all tracks have repitch mode. But mostly: without Tempo change, repitch should not affect your Clip i think
One more thing: Ableton is marketed to ppl who do Electronic music because if you want to record an orchestra most people just prefer other DAWs that have better features for recording. The unique selling feature of Ableton is it's Life view and a lot of its Features are catered to its core audience because there is also ProTools, Reason, Logic etc out there each having their niche and thats okay.
I didn't know destiny produces
why does it sound so 'pony'?
basic
у него сильные дабл биты, кони, поезд в битах. и он это не слышит. фу какое-то. пример как не нужно делать треки, лайвы и вообще. всё должно быть ровно по сетке.
Felix I didn't learn anything . You didn't explained more clearly how Introduction works . Also you add some tracks at the end . How you did ? Didn't explained clearly.
This video isn’t looking to go over the basics of Ableton, it’s more of a workflow approach/overview.
It's not live unless you don't record loops in advance, and you didn't cover the ability to clear your mistakes if you accidentally play a wrong note...
If you quit editing your comment and actually watch the video you'll see he is playing keys, singing and arranging on the fly.
Fl is better
Lol😂
kool!
press play ..press stop... Live...nah
APCs are crap!!!
