I saw a message saying to ignore the hate comments but don’t ignore the comments about the editing. Honestly when an IPV survivor is speaking her story she needs to be seen, heard, and acknowledged. The editing covers her face and brings attention to him. Just small things like that can hurt the psyche of a survivor. I genuinely want to hear her story but the pictures are tasteless.

Blake Jenner is a Felon. He just got very lucky and was not charged. People are doing long jail sentences for doing what Blake did to Melissa. His chance at any public career is over. I can not imagine anyone that would want to see this guy act or sing at this point.

its ridiculous because at first he couldnt be prosecuted because there was little evidence it was even him, and there was no proof it happened, and after he posted that it was actually him, he made it seem like a 2-way fight, rather than a case of 1-sided abuse, which everyone knows it was. I don't blame the justice system, after that tweet "admitting guilt" (even though he blamed her multiple times during the tweet), it's hard to charge him with anything criminal

In an interview a while ago she said Blake said she looked like squirt from finding nemo after "she fell and hit her face" and In this video she said her abuser said she looks like squirt from finding nemo... So... its pretty clear who it was.
Also, since she published this video, Blake disappeared from the net, his last post on both instagram and twitter were made in November 22, and she posted this video on November 27.
Also he was the only person who was YOUNGER than her. She gave her fans hints.

And knowing how this works the producers ask the guest what subjects they want to talk about and if they have a story to share and since she said Bl%ake controlled a lot of her work he probably pushed her to tell that story, that way if she ever brought out accusations about him he had this interview where she basically tells how her accident *happened* (allegedly, that's my opinion anyway)

This is so sad and should be a lesson for everyone to not fantasize a version of celebrities just because of the character they are playing on screen. I remember shipping both Marley and Rider when I was younger, hoping they would be together but not realizing what was truly happening when cameras were off. I hope she heals from this trauma as this will only make her stronger and Learn to trust again as she is well worth it. I hope the next one will treat 100x better and shows her how a woman should be properly treated.

I have done some extensive research into their relationship, and there is no doubt in my mind that Blake Jenner was Melissa’s abuser. Age difference, projects they were working on, social media post, circumstances, etc. I have put together the timeline of their relationship together, projects she subtly references and the injuries she suffered. Everything lines up perfectly. On top of all the evidence, the biggest clue is maybe the least obvious. If Blake was not the man Melissa is referring to in this video, wouldn’t she have cleared his name by now? After all the backlash, reticule, hate, and overall extremely negative attention Blake has received since the release of this video. If he were innocent, no matter the circumstances of their breakup, Melissa would have spoken up. Their actions since this videos release are what really convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt. He hasn’t been active on social media since November, his comments have been censored, and he has made no official statement in an effort to defend himself, because he knows he has no defense. He took Melissa, this beautifully inspiring bright light of a human being, and nearly extinguished her. He PERMANENTLY injured her, mentally and physically. He tried to hinder her successes because of his own petty insecurities.
I could go on and on about how horrible this situation was, but if I’m being completely honest, Melissa’s story is one of the happy ones. She got out, found true happiness with Chris, and is soon to be a mother (which she no doubt will be fantastic at). But a lot of women, and even some men, do not have that luxury and we need to talk about this more. From March 2018 to March 2019, there were 1.32 million domestic abuse related incidents reported to the police. And each year more than 30,000 people die due to domestic abuse, 70% of these victims being women. We need to be mindful and careful of those around us, because you never know who’s suffering behind closed doors. #IstandwithMelissa

Even though his character on glee was supposed to be the “nice guy”. I got a sinister and violent vibe from him. I saw the Jimmy Fallon interview where she made the potted plant excuse, I knew then. Her posture became stiff, her eyes had fear in them, she was fidgeting her seat, and when she told her excuse her eyes shifted to the right. I am so proud of her for speaking out. I am happy that she found someone who can cherish her for the treasure of a human being that she is.

I can't image the courage it took for Melissa to come forth, publicly. By doing so, like Kara and supergirl, Melissa gives hope and courage to others that are in abusive relationships. I'd like to point something out that many might miss. She said she was choked. In DV we say strangled. He strangled her. 90% (a real statistic not an exaggeration) of abusers who strangle their victims end up murdering them. Those who strangle are killers. Period. She is lucky to be alive and he deserves to be in prison for attempted murder. Her life will be permanently changed and the damage to her long term health will never be recovered. I'm glad she is out but the abuse doesn't stop just because they left. The memories and the effects of the physical abuse last a lifetime.

Last winter when this news first came out, I went to see a play in New York (Cyrano) - with Jasmine Cephas Jones, Peter Dinklage, and -- to my horror - Blake Jenner. An audience full of Game of Thrones and Hamilton fans had no idea, and I was shocked they let him go on that night. Small production, maybe no understudies? Anyway, it absolutely matters who it is, because he financially benefits from people NOT knowing, and he enjoys privilege as a public figure that shields him from accountability as long as we don't know. I was on the front row of a packed mid-size off broadway theater, and remember staring into his face and realizing, he's relieved I'm clearly the only one who was aware of the allegations. He does not deserve relief. Social pressure and shaming is the only thing that works with people who rely on public affection. It matters who it is. And our rejection of him matters too.

When I watch supergirl, Kara’s and Mon-el’s relationship seems so real, and authentic. I am proud of Melissa, she fought a mental and physical battle, that she shouldn’t have fought alone, or even at all. She is now safe with Chris, and her baby.

She stayed because she came from a broken home and didn't want to fail like that, too. I felt that! I did the same, plus I had kids I didn't want to put through divorce! My abuse was emotional, not physical... the scars it leaves aren't visible to others and it's hard to get them to believe that he's threatened your pets, hid guns in the house, tried to get you fired from your job, destroyed your credit, stolen your mail, etc...So on top of everything, I had external pressure to stay with him. All I can say is, be kind; you never know what someone's going through.

Sometimes when you are in something like this, you don't realize the extent of it until the pain is too much to just ignore. If he hits me, but I'm ok then it didn't happen. If he punches me but there are no bruises, then we are fine. It's hard to admit that the person you love more than you probably love yourself, is toxic. Proud of her for taking a stand and getting the heck away from him!

Blake Jenner came out and confirmed that he was the abuser and “apologized.” I have that in quotes because it was barely an apology. He eventually tried to victimize himself. And regardless, apology or not, it would never make up for the years of abuse she endured and it will never make up for the healing she will have to go through and live with for the rest of her life. He left a scar on her, physically, emotionally, and mentally, that she will never be able to get rid of. It’s absolutely disgusting that people like that actually exist, but it’s even more sickening that they get away with it. So much more respect to Melissa. I’m glad she shared her story, it’s a brave thing to do, and I hope more people will have the same courage to come out and share theirs, but if not, I hope they’re aware that they’re not alone in this and that everything will be okay.🤍
I am so glad that she survived it and that she’s now living a life with someone who, I’m assuming, genuinely loves her. I hope she and her husband are truly happy. She deserves it.

I remember shipping them back on Glee and so happy when they got married, its so awful that he turned out to be such an asshole. I'm glad she's happy with Chris now and she survived the endeavor.
There is no doubt in my mind that Blake is/was an abusive creep. No doubt. I feel very bad for Melissa and I am so glad she's happy and well, now.
That's so sad, especially cause he came in as her love interest on supergirl for a an episode or two. They made her act with him again and I can't imagine what it was like to have to pretend to love her abuser just for a show.
But they were still married at the time. And i doubt the producers knew anything about it at the time. I also think that she either asked for him to be play the role or he asked if he could. Backnin season 1, noone knew this thing happened, so they didnt make her act with him, they probably just didnt know.

Also, during the interview Melissa gave ok jimmy fallon where she talks about her eye injury, she mentions the “accident” happened the day after she got the part of supergirl, which makes me wonder if that was the reason they were arguing when he threw the f*cking phone at her face

I cried the entire time I watched this video. I relate so deeply to her story because just 5 months ago this was my life. My ex isolated me and hurt me making me believe it was all me, it was my fault and I was horrible and untrustworthy. I feel better knowing that someone I look up to is healing and working through the same thing. I feel for her and send her all my love because I know how hard it is to heal from something so awful and traumatizing.
I remember watching glee and feeling like Blake gave “jerk” vibes. Idk if that was him or his character tho.
His character (Ryder) was sooo sweet but irl Blake is a monster.

It's almost two years now since Melissa opened up and I constantly find myself coming back and while still getting emotional feeling very proud of how strong she is and how she managed to move on. Look at her now, she's married to a much better person, has a kid, has brought life to a beloved superhero, has progressed from actress to director, has been on Broadway, and has even started her own production company. She's such a sweetheart too, beautiful inside and out, and a true inspiration to all. We love you Melissa, never ever forget that.
I want that man to be removed from production of Merrily We Roll Along. It's going to take 20 years to film, it's not too late to recast the role. And after that I want him locked up for the emotional and physical harm he caused this beautiful woman. He can twist the tale all he wants, but it won't take away the severe damage he did.

I am so proud of her! 😘 She did such an amazing job and she showed so much strength and courage when she accepted the support of friends and family when she left him. On a personal note, I didn't experience physical abuse, but rather emotional and mental abuse. He also physically and emotionally raped me. (Emotional rape is a real thing.) 😉 I remember that the first time I told anyone about my experience, I was terrified! I still don't feel 100% comfortable, but I get a little better every time I tell it. In case you read this, Melissa, I will be praying for you. Keep being amazing! I am an avid Supergirl fan!
I watched Glee from the very first episode right till the very end. It's heartbreaking to see and know that she's gone through this. Hearing how her voice shook as she talked about her abuse was saddening. But also, hearing how calm and confident she sounded right after she finished her story towards the end shows how happy and comfortable she is right now. Traumatic experiences will not heal easily but I'm glad that she's making positive progress! My heart goes out to Melissa. She's a really talented actress. 💛💛💛
She is way braver the I. This gives me hope. I see my story in hers. Down to the letter except one big obstacle, we have 2 kids. I’m isolated and have nothing of my own(money, car, real job) it’s another way to keep you stuck and dependent on them. They are so insecure and afraid that you will smarten up, get stronger, and say ENOUGH AND LEAVE. They love you most when you have one foot out the door. Mine just threw coffee on me (and $2,000 worth of recording equipment he bought with OUR $$). I was more worried about the equipment because I knew that I could make him care more about that then me. It’s a vicious cycle but mine doesn’t even apologize anymore for the abuse and cheating. 12 years in and he knows how stuck I am even though he knows I don’t want to be with him, I don’t love him, and I in fact hate him. I have told him I can not stand to even be around him. He cares more about keeping and controlling me and our kids then if I love him or if the kids are happy. When we fight and I stand up for myself he puts on his father of the year hat when he really does nothing for anyone not even his kids. It’s a sorry excuse for a life and one day I will get out with my kids and be happy. Her strength is a beacon to others who suffer the same abuse. It turns helplessness into hopefulness.

It's almost eerie how similar people's stories about abusive relationships are. As a person who's gone through the same hell, I feel really thankful that she shared hers.
i'm so proud of her. she pulled herself out of that hell hole she was in , found someone who truly truly loves her and having a baby. she deserves the world , and the fact that she shared this, having hard to live through this again, is tremendous.

This is the part I dont understand. I was on the receiving end, not so much physical, more mental. It started when I was a little boy and never stopped. So when I see people being hurt I want to help not hurt them. But Im glad you got out and life is better for you and yours

It comes out differently for different people. There are a variety of factos that play a role in becoming abusive, you can have two siblings who grew up in the same home with the same parent and one continues that cycle of abuse and one breaks it, the hope is both break it, but that is sadly not always the case.

They’re showing clips of when the abuse was happening to see if anyone can spot unusually behavior or show them how she behaved differently next to him.

Oh I feel for this girl. My abusive relationship wasn’t nearly as horrific as this, and nearly a year later I’m still having nightmares about it. I can’t imagine how scary and difficult this has and will continue to be for her. 💔

I just have a theory. In Supergirl during her fight with Reign the visual techniques were an awful lot like how she had described some of her abuse. She said she was dragged by her hair which happened in the fight, bruises on her eye, broke pavements/wall. I don't know if I'm just thinking to deep or not but there are some similarities.
The way she describes how he would run her a bath and never justify his actions but come to her with self hatred for his actions is exactly what I went through. The way she explains how she justified his actions is exactly what I did with my ex boyfriend... I thought my love and willingness to love him despite his demons in his mind would show him how to love himself. I never thought I could heal his demons but that I could show him what that life could be like and I could be someone to help bring him out of his darkness. It’s so heartbreaking to hear her story because nobody expects someone that you love and loves you to hurt you in the worst ways. Such a strong woman I have so much respect🤍

It makes me smile and cry at the same time because she survived and has now found Chris who is perfect for her. And there having a baby!! She is a real life supergirl and she is so strong. She truly deserves someone like Chris.
