Sneak peek of Inspiration Plaza at Minthorne Street

  • Gary C. Angiuli thinks Staten Islanders need a little inspiration.
    "Inspiration Plaza" -- a 2,500-square-foot public recreation space modeled after Manhattan's Bryant Park -- will open in June on an elevated platform in a parking lot across from the row of homegrown businesses along Minthorne Street in Tompkinsville.
    "Inspiration Plaza will be accessible to the public for about 10 months of the year," said Angiuli, who's developing the area. "It will have free WiFi, and we hope the artwork we bring to it ... and beautiful plantings will be a source of inspiration to everyone."
