    Why is the Montclair-Boonton line not mentioned? Glen Ridge - 31 minutes direct from the borough train station to Penn NYC, and Montclair is just a few minutes past that...

      Hi Todd, thanks for watching. I hope to do another video in the future once I have added more town tours that are on that line. But thanks for pointing it out, also a great option!

    5:42-5:47 This is exactly what I do. I live on Berkeley Ave, close to Mountain station, but I often walk the 25 minutes to South Orange to catch one those morning trains, because my stop has less trains. I (Subconsciously I think), often give myself a little less time than that, so I end up kind of having to book it, but I kinda like the exercise, especially when its cold out, and on an empty stomach, that's a good way to start the day!

    This video showing the transit lines and commute time table are really helpful for exploring different areas with good commute to mid-town. Love that Commute Time Table!

    Hi, thank you for the information. It was very helpful. I’m wondering if you have videos like this for north of Manhattan, Long Island and CT.

    I think the New York Metro area suburbs are the best, along with the suburbs of the Northeast Corridor. They don't generally sprawl, at least like the sunbelt suburbs.

      @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Good point, limited sprawl and public transit vs. all cars in other parts of the US.

      Great option if you work on the eastside or not too far west. Which town do you live in? Is that an express train route?

    Hi, I start at 7am ending at 7pm with some earlier days 6am. Any advice on how to structure that? Work in mid town just off the e train

      Hi Ronin, are you trying to pick a place based on a fast commute? It really depends on your needs in terms of size and bedroom count. If you want even faster than the towns mentioned in this video, have you considered Jersey City? Here is my video tour: th-cam.com/video/6768KTCOddo/w-d-xo.html
      I have other ideas, but it really depends on what you are looking for. Feel free to reach out via email and we can set up time to speak.

    Can you share your thoughts on Haworth as a commuting town to NYC or make a video on it? Thanks

      Hi Ashvin, thanks for the comment. I hope to make more tours of Northern Jersey in the coming weeks... I will add Haworth to this list! Thanks for watching and in the meantime feel free to reach out privately if you need more specific help.

    In the thumbnail pic for this video, "Easy access to NYC", you have arrows going from Queens into Manhattan. Ummm, Queens IS NYC. Rephrase it as "Easy access to Manhattan" and it works.

    • @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC
      @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right but keep in mind you have to go through queens coming from Long Island. Same goes for the Bronx and Westchester / Fairfield counties.

    From door to door , anywhere in Manhattan office is an hour and a half.

    • @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC
      @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      apologies, not sure I follow what you mean. Are you saying if you live in Manhattan it takes 1.5 hours to get anywhere?

    • @Dsuji245

      @@Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC I mean from nj to midtown Manhattan. Waiting for train or transfer. Leave from NJ also need to leave extra time. All add together. It will take hour and a half.

    • @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC
      @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dsuji245 Oh I see what you mean, sure I guess it depends on which station and also how close you live to the station and whether you need to park, etc. Good point. Thanks!

    As someone who lives in NJ, the NJ transit is so unreliable. Godforbid it snows or storms, they abandon commuters in Newark Broad Street and theres no way for them to get home. I've seen them do this a few times.

    • @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC
      @Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, thanks for the comment. It is a very valid point. I have been thinking about making a video on this topic to discuss alternatives to the train. What area do you live in NJ? Do you have a favorite town? Thanks for watching!

    • @Jeskrist5
      @Jeskrist5 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Newark...well people may disagree with me, but downtown is changing FAST! Its only a matter of time before the whole place looks like NYC. Sadly it will displace the people already there.
