    Great bike. Super videos. Before you remove old plugs, blow the dust and little pebbles out of the plug well so they don't fall in the cylinder 👍

    Fantastic video! I am changing my plugs today on my 2002 1800s. Only suggestion would be to fire up the bike when you are done.

      I fire it up every time I ride it??? Thanks for watching.

    You have to use the right kind of anti seize I learned this the hard way.

    Hey, just used your video to change the plugs on my VTX 1800c. Makes me embarrassed that I needed a video! So simple, but I appreciate the little tips. New air filter incoming, then an oil change. You ever put a little bit of techron in your tank? My bike is older than yours, 2003, and I just want to make sure that motor keeps on goin forever.

      I sometimes use some seafoam from time to time just to keep it running clean but that’s about it.
      Thanks for watching.

    How many miles on the old plugs?

    My 2006VTX1800N Engine cranks strong but won't fire. Should I change the spark plugs? What else can be and how to diagnose it?
    Thanks for helping!!!

      Take a plug out and see if you are getting any spark, that is where I would start. Could be something like the coil, a wire or something else. Trace the wires back from the spark plugs till you find the issue. I don’t believe all the plugs are bad...it’s possible but unlikely. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    Hi did you use a torque wrench? Could you do it without one?

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do it without a torque wrench, just carefully.

    3 days late I already did it. I really need to check the gap on the plugs.

    What gap did you go with? 0.040 or 0.044? Thanks

    • @vicmorrison8128
      @vicmorrison8128 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1mm is 39

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The specs call for .039-.043. The plugs should come pre-gapped to these specs as it is not recommended to re-gap this type of plug. It could damage the electrode. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct and 1.1mm is .043

    • @jasonrmartin3
      @jasonrmartin3 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I may just go with 0.044 gapped.

    • @jasonrmartin3

      I went with NGK 0.044 laser iridium IF5L11 stock #6502 (auto zone)

  • @SaulVTXFRIDER

    I never check the gap with the ngk iridiums..no need too really..bike always run fine

    Please use COPPER anti-seize - if you keep using that silver crap you will eventually find out why. Otherwise an excellent video🕊

    • @funbro1

      Or how about non at all? Thanks for watching.

      I will do that, sounds like great advice for any deep plug, Ford Engine will give you a busted off plug when you change them out, A real pain to change. Thank you

    Why are you smearing it all over the plug threads with your finger? What do you think happens to the anti seize compound once you thread the plug in? You're taking an unnecessary extra step and making an unnecessary mess.

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am “smearing” it all over the threads so as not to have clumps that may cause a problem and to eventually distribute the anti seize on the threads. I think what happens is the anti seize keeps the 2 different types of metal from bonding together (seizing). I Could be wrong I guess???? But the name anti seize kinda gives it away. Once finished there is no mess???? Hope this explains the process to you. Thanks for checking in.

    5mm spark plug socket?🤣

    • @funbro1
      @funbro1  ปีที่แล้ว

      5mm spark plug socket??????
      To remove the spark plug cover use a 5mm hex or Allen and for the spark plugs use a 5/8” socket, just like it says in the video.
      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
      Thanks for watching.
