- PYT Squad! In today's video, I will be trying Wetline Xtreme Gel vs. Ecostyler Gel on my type 4 natural hair.
I've been an Ecostyler girl for my entire natural hair journey but I've heard such positive things about the Wetline Xtreme Gel so I gave it a try.
I tried the Wetline Xtreme Gel 3 weeks ago and I was really surprised at how defined my hair was but I was not convinced that it was better than my Ecostyler gel.
I finally did the comparison and I picked my winner but I'm interested in knowing which side looks better in your opinion!

I think both sides look good. For me...Wetline gel seems to mix well with my curling creams and leave-ins better than Eco.

I think the Eco Styler side is on point. No frizz, more defined, and shiny.
But I'm biased anyway because I love Eco Styler. Like you I always pick up the professional size in olive oil because, to me, it has the strongest hold.

The Eco Argan does give hella shine and its smoother than the other Eco's. I have the big jar of the new Wetline though and I like how it glides. If I want less crunch/fuller look i just add a curl activator underneath be it cream or the clear gel kind.

Both do look great. Although from this view it looks like Eco is giving more weight and definition. Wetline more volume and fluffiness. So you could switch depending on your style mood for that day.
I am curious to know how they compare regarding day 1 crunchiness and definition 3-4 days later how each held up?? Right now I have only tried Eco and not wetline yet.
That’s a great perspective! Both sides were crunchy but the Wetline side was a little crunchier. The crunch only lasted on day 1. You can prevent the crunch by adding a cream before adding the gel. The style got more voluminous as the days progressed and still looked great on day 3. 😊
In my opinion I don’t really see a big difference between the two😭 but Eco is a really good Gel and it works wonders on my hair as well. I will say in the beginning I did notice Eco gave you’re hair a more shinny and bright look compared to the wet line gel which gave you white clumps before the drying process. But I really liked the end result of it all.💕

The wet line looks more shrunken having a tightly coiled appearance and the Eco styler gel is defined with a more clumped and fuller appearance. However, both gels left ur hair looking shiny and healthily defined.

Hi 👋🏽 Both sides were crunchy. The Wetline side was a little crunchier than the Ecostyler side. The crunch didn’t last long on either side. By day 2, it was gone. Also, thank you. 💜
Ecostyler looks very defined and voluminous with less frizz than wetline but both look extremely beautiful ❤️

The ECO side, the curls are very defined, shiny, and has volume. The wetline side, the curls are a little frizzy but you have more length. I like the ECO side better. Beautiful wash n go.
Both sides look good but remember each side of our hair works differently regardless of products but I did notice eco has less clump in the product than the wet line... but again they both look good... how did you tie your hair down over night? It looks fabulous
Honestly, there's seems to be no benefit to switching gels, because eco looks super moisturized and defined, while wetline is also moisturized and defined. I've done this test too and friends selected the wetline side. I may try it again with your eco gel (I used the flaxseed eco for that test).

I like wetline better for my 4c hair but I also like ego. Wetline hold my curls for 3 weeks to a month and be very shiny. I love it
I like the eco style gel better! It looks more defined. The wet line looks a slightly crunchy. But its not bad. But the eco side is gorgeous!

Yees! Mine too! Wetline has been a game changer for me. It seems to elongate my curls as well as define them. Also it’s not too sticky or hard. I also apply mine with lots of water. I do think the Eco styler is a bit better on her hair tho. For my 3c/4a hair, Wetline is everything!

You sprayed water on the eco side, maybe that's why it was more shiny and less frizzy. I've never tried wetline, I might give it a try once I run low in the eco argan gel.

I use to love ego and I still like it but I’m a die hard for wetline because my curls last for 3 weeks or longer if I leave it in. I like to shampoo weekly though except when I do a wash and go.

Right now I’m testing out different gels because if I can’t get my hands on my favorite which is taliah waajid apple and aloe hold me down gelle, I need something to replace it but I tried Afro sheens cream gel, it’s good but I don’t like it by itself, I need to try it with a leave-in or a moisturizer underneath it, but other than that I like it, I just tried the new wetline which I like but it’s not easy to get my hands on so I might be going back to eco styler.
I’ve heard great things about the hold me gelle. I might try! 💚

Very close but I give Eco the edge. Wetline is way more bang for your buck since it's 1/4 the price of Eco for *more*. Eco styler has oils and proteins that actually improve hair health though, Wetline if you read the back the ingredients are horrifying.

I wish I could use eco , no matter what leave in I use , or no leave in it flakes for me , and look like Elmer's glue. The only exception is the gold one ,but there is not enough hold.Your hair came out great .

MzDami oh okay. Someone tried the Olive Oil Ecostyler on my hair when I first went natural and it didn’t work. I’ve only used the Argan oil one since then and it’s amazing.
Eco side has less frizz but both looks good. I just started wearing mine natural and I am a type 4c mostly; my front ends are still straight. It's been about a year now and I recently cut most of it off, how long did it take for you to get your curls to pop like that?
More shrinkage with Eco but what I want to know most of all is, which hair gel held the style longer?
Ecostyler! When I saw the picture on your IG, I thought I liked both, but EcoStyler provides way more definition (to the back curls).

@@SashieETV i just do my hair in twist. I gave up on wash and go years ago when it wasn't coming out how I wanted it. My curls were not defined and my hair didn't even budged. At that time I had used the eco styling gel. I would want to try a wash and go soon, I was thinking of the extreme wet line one as everyone is raving about it.

I have straight hair and when I use eco gel my hair always pops back up and has lil baby hairs that stick up you think wetline would keep it down more?
I’m not sure if Wetline would. You can try an edge control. Those usually work well at keeping my hair sleek.
