    Andy - thanks for the quick look. For other commenters on WMT vs San Martin - completely different target markets. WMT appeals to those looking for aged, vintage models, many long out of production. The Tropical dial on the Barracuda (1016 Explorer) is a great example. San Martin targets higher volume, popular watches with a high degree of fit, finish and quality for not much more than the sum of the parts.
    San Martin's previous maxi-case Submariner and BB58 homage are great examples, and they added more vintage flavors like the SN004-G homage to the 6200 series. But if you compare the SM SN021-G 36mm Explorer to the Rolly 1016 or the WMT Barracuda the lugs are too fat, the bezel too wide and the hands too short. It's still a fantastic watch, but it's no vintage 1016, faux patina not withstanding.
    So, you want a great, brand new watch, w/o a scratch on it - SM is your shop. I own many, some factory customs as part of group buys, some personally modded. If you want an aged, more period correct, distressed piece that looks like it could be a survivor - WMT might be your shop. I own the Barracuda.
    You stay in this hobby long enough, and the day will come when you want the vintage, acrylic-domed watch in your collection.
    Looking forward to your in-depth reviews on the WMT's - a comparo to the San Martin's might be good for your viewers too.

    I watched a number of these WMT watch reviews and based on them I ordered a watch from them. What I ordered was MUCH different then what these videos showed. My watch did not come packaged like that at all. It also came with no paper work. It did have an invoice that said it was three hundred dollars cheaper then what I paid for it. Also, the quality of the watch was just horrible. Not happy with this brand and will never be ordering another watch from them.

    Show de bola! It would be perfect if there was a GMT movement, but still a great look watch!

      Cara, acompanho seu canal de café e não sabia que você curtia relógios também! Show de bola! Esse WMT eu achei um pouco caro pelo que oferece em termo de especificações, quando comparado com San Martin ou outras microbrands chinesas... Mas é lindo demais!

    Wmt also has the bubble back. It would be cool to see a review of that.

    The price to movement isn't up to par for the money.... The clasp is silly.... Historically correct or not.... Just not up to snuff. The tolerances don't look up to San Martin, for example....I like the acrylic crystal and the patina.... How's the lume though? Not good bang for buck. So it's a hard pass for me . . Thanks for the video, though. 😎

      @@AndySTWT I think a really good value can be Seiko mods that can replicate some vintage Rolex models. I had very good luck with a guy who built me a Sub Comex homage with a plexiglass crystal and "Comex" branding on the dial. The dial is marked "Seiko" at 12:00. It came out a bit less expensive than the WMTs on their site.

    • @AndySTWT
      @AndySTWT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that could be cool too! I think almost every watch or brand has its value, obviously depending on the price and quality. I think this WMT have a very unique style of ageing the dial very almost lifelike or natural like. That's what interested me of these watches

  • @danielthompson803
    @danielthompson803 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The San Martin SN020 is much better quality and for half the price of that WMT Explorer homage the bracelet and clasp are so much better as well as some of their retro dive watches. Check them out as they make these WMT watches look like cheap garbage when compared.

    • @AndySTWT

      A san Martine is one of the worst homages a watch company can make . Wmt so far has put out there , that they can make almost as close quality of the watch . Excluding the movement , yes they should had put a better movement but hey we are all buying them anyways .
