    There's something about eastern Arabic numerals that makes a dial so special. I used to live in the UAE and have the same sort of nostalgia whenever I see watches using Arabic text & numerals. There are some great ones from Girard Perregaux, Hublot, Bulgari, and even Rolex does Arabic numbers on their platinum Daytona & Day-Date (with matching Day & Date of course). Great video & thanks for sharing this as a more accessable option for a watch with eastern Arabic numerals 👍

    Its supposed to be scratched out the box to mimic the "vintage" look.

    Dude you bought a lightly aged version. I’ve got a Comex style Subdiver from them. Your not buying a brand new style watch. The bracelet is seriously just as shitty as the original Jubilee bracelets. I’m guessing you haven’t actually handled a real vintage Rolex. Most of the time the hands and markers aren’t lit up much is very much exactly how a Vintage GMT Master with a tritium dial. I actually love my version. You need to keep in mind they are selling a chance for you to own and experience a piece as if it was made from back in the day. I totally appreciate that side of this company. I have never had any problems with their customer service period. I’ve bought three different pieces from them. I advise anyone who orders one from them to read the description of the piece all the way through. They did a light aging on many of their models including my Comex Sub homage. But I knew this when I ordered cause I read the description completely and understood this. They aren’t going to be a Lume Monster. The aged tritium doesn’t light up on the real pieces these are an homage to so why should we expect them to light up brightly like a modern watch. To me buying one of these is as close to buying a real true vintage Rolex as you can get without spending the price for a nice home to obtain and enjoy the experience of owning a real vintage watch. Btw my version is running +2 to 5 seconds a day. Hope this helps you understand more about what WMT offers. I wear mine often.

    • @BasicallyWatches
      @BasicallyWatches  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Dude, yes I did this review nearly 8 months back. At the time I didn't realise what the aged version meant since then I have had several people explain in the comments section and it made sense. Regards to the bracelet I don't have an issue with it as such it's comfy as! I only have a issue with the clasp sticking which is what I reached out to them about but at the end of the day it's not such a big issue for me. I mentioned it as part of the review so viewers are aware. Regards to the lume as well off course I understand it's not going to be the a lume monster once again I demonstrated this as part of the review process so viewers get a comprehensive review and can consider all aspects of the watch. All in all I'm very happy with the watch it's definitely a favourite in my collection

    14.5mm is a pretty thick case! Does the thickness bother you at all and do you think it is likely to bother someone with a smaller wrist?

    • @BasicallyWatches
      @BasicallyWatches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is on the thicker side but it doesn't bother me, I do prefer thicker cases especially for casual wear. Regards to whether it would bother someone with smaller wrists it's very subjective. I have lots of watch enthusiast mates with smaller wrists and they love thicker watches. If you are unsure about it and think it will bother you best to find another watch with a slimmer profile.

    The thing is, they're only 100mt WR. As someone else has posted, a Steinhart would be better at this price and they have 200mt WR and sapphire glass, unlike the acrylic crystal of the WMT watches.

  • @joshsher6327
    @joshsher6327 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    $690 for that? I went with the German made Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Vintage Premium. $740 with Swiss movement. Other better looking ones include Lorier and Baltic. The original Pepsi color scheme was made by Rolex on its GMT Master to separate daytime and night time. The Pepsi color scheme doesn't really make any sense if its not GMT unless you just want a colorful timepiece.

    My personal thought, the watch is about $500 over priced. The specs are pretty terrible. What you can get for half the cost, from San Martin or Cronos, this company just doesn't make sense.

    I was raised in Kuwait as well and still live here to this day. I’ve always wanted this timepiece when it first came out but the price tag was a big no for me. I’d go with a Baltic Aquascaphe instead. Anyway, I went with a San Martin SN004G instead, it has a better built quality especially the bracelet and it’s somewhat affordable.

    • @BasicallyWatches
      @BasicallyWatches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello from a former Kuwaity 😊. Yes the price was definitely on higher side but I couldn't put a price on the nostalgic value. Every time I wear it, it brings back so many childhood memories and makes me smile. Need to check out the San Martin hopefully I can get my hands on one for a review

    • @JayJohnPaul
      @JayJohnPaul 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BasicallyWatches Haha! I can totally relate! I would’ve pulled the trigger if it came with an Arabic date window just like with their UAE edition ones. I do prefer the cleaner look but the date window would’ve at least justified the price for me. :)
      San Martin does offer custom dials, you can pretty much have them add the “دولة الكويت” if you wanted.

    They do both aged and non aged versions. This one definitely was one that was limited and should have been aged like it says in the description for this watch. I guess you missed that part of the purchase of this piece. It’s a lot heavier duty than the real piece this one is trying to be an homage to. Hope this helps.

    This brand is a joke lol they sell this watch with a NH35 movement at this price? Come on man...... And the paul newman daytona with NE88 is USD 1500 LOL. I was like come on......Homage is fine. But they sell it for that money with cheap movement for that price. That's not homage for fun. It is simply copycat behavior and making profit.

    • @BasicallyWatches

    Poor customer service, poor craftsmanship, over $600 for a miyota 8215…I wouldn’t recommend this watch for anyone! Yuck! I would rather buy a steinhart. Otherwise, this is a great and honest review video!

    • @BasicallyWatches
      @BasicallyWatches  3 ปีที่แล้ว
