      My man I saw your thumbnail and instantly knew where you were coming from. I do that from time to time without thinking about it and especially if Im speaking into my camera that doesn't have a flip screen to get an estimated focusing distance. Great video

    This was amazing!! I'd always thought of overcast light as being somewhat flat and directionless due to the defusion, but I've genuinly learned something today and I'll definitely be using this technique in future, I think the word 'hack' does it a diservice. Great video, and as an aside, what a difference it makes when you have a model who is comfortable with the camera and knows how to pose herself!! You just got yourself another subscriber!!

    Good tips about finding the light. But it's not necessarily bad to shoot backlit. Having the stronger hit of light on the head and shoulders will make the model stand out a bit more from the background. An overcast sky is the best soft key light you could ask for, and then you use your reflector to throw in a little soft bounce fill/eyelight. Another way to reduce the flatness of shooting on an overcast day is to place your model in front of a contrasty background, to add a sense of separation.

    Hi Photo-Me-Ike....If you go 3min.37sec. into your video, you will se the PERFECT way of seeing the angel of the natural light....Behind you there is a whit pillar and on that you can clearly se the difference i light and shadow. How can you replicate that you may ask??? Use at white card, fold it and....presto!! You´ve got it. Just hold the folded card up and you will instantly se the difference in light. :-)

    • @PaulQuinones
      @PaulQuinones 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brandonjames3603 direct sunlight is hard light.. Hard light means very harsh shadows on a subject which is usually very unflattering. So you would be best using a reflector or flash to eliminate the harsh shadows. They have tons of videos on this explaining but in short.. That's the issue. Natural light is generally best done on overcast days or under shade
