Today another Petit Offertoire, which is well known. A beautiful gentle piece from César Franck, which is a bit of a mine field because of the many accidentals! The speed is a calm Andante, slowing down in the last bars to Lento ánd with the indication Molto Rallentando. It could be a piece from my friend @grahamtwist! What a tease you are, Rien! If I had just 1% of César Franck's genius, I would be able to write music that might not immediately join the ranks of the overlooked and forgotten composers you so kindly bring back to life on your wonderful TH-cam channel. This 'Petit Offertoire' has a gentle melancholy and inner beauty that I sometimes strive to emulate with harmonic 'drifting' between keys, but I do not possess Franck's mastery of such expression. This piece sounds gorgeous on the Mascioni sample set and you play it with touching tenderness: bravo!

Thanks Philippe. I learned and recorded this one yesterday. It looked not that difficult but when I started playing I found out that it isn’t that easy because all it the accidentals. A gentle musical mine field. 😂
