This is amazing! So down and dirty, so soulful and so perfect! There is no way to replicate what happened on this recording today! It's so cool to be able to hear all of the nuances in backing players and vocals! It's so street! The fantastic Funk Brothers!!!!! Thanks for posting this gem!
Assuming that beat is by Benny Benjamin (drums), Jack Ashford (percussion blocks) and Eddie Brown (bongos/congas). Cha-cha on Grand Boulevard! Mary Wells used a similar Latin beat on "You Beat Me To The Punch."
What would Motown have been without them? Pure genius if you ask me.
Absolutely the heartbeat & soul of Motown❤🎶
SUPER ! SUPER ! AWESOME ! TUNE !

there was another drummer there for while at the beginning of Motown, so it was probably Benny but...and I don't know if Jack was there yet,
@Alan Braham knew that he and Joe Messina are the only of the original 13 members of the Funks left alive
Man, that is wonderful!

Who is singing backup? They are fantastic!
I'm sure it's the Love Tones. They were among the backup vocalist for Motown.
