This breaks me down. So much REAL talent. No auto tune, lip synching, takes and retakes, just real undeniable talent. Michael’s exceptional genius was already starting to show through

And this is what I’ve always wondered about. This was mostly their dad being abusive to get them to this point, but at the same time they wouldn’t be who they ended up being if he wasn’t.

Sometimes they lip-synced, sometimes they didn't. They might be singing for real here, but you can find videos from the same point in their career where they're lip-syncing on other TV shows. Even Michael Jackson in his solo career wasn't above lip-syncing. You could see him lip-syncing at the Super Bowl, and he lip-synced at the Jacksons anniversary show when he 'sang' "Beat It".

Not quite, there is something funny with Michael's mike from 2:00 on. It's unlikely that someone was moving the fader precisely just at that moment, or that he was fake singing - probably Michael's voice was dubbed by him right after the show.

Great performance, and it sounds like every one of them had a mic that went live for parts and was mixed or replaced with pre-recorded backing tracks for other parts. All the vocals seem more live than the instruments. Woulda loved to hear them play it 100% live (with the keyboardist doing the horns).

I remember his dancing was just as much as part of the show as the music. I think everyone watched him in amazement just awed at how someone can dance so damn well.

What people dont seem to remember...the REAL talent in this family...because NOBODY goes on TV and does it live anymore...outside of a competition show...the Jackson Five were the real deal...and growing up in the 70s, we all knew it and loved them for it.

Jackie Jackson was performing his ass off that night. You see how he commanded the band, never stopped singing, never stopped moving, and orchestrated the whole number. Amazing

At the end when Michael smiles and waves, almost 50 years after this was performed live, I break down crying. We miss you Magic Man R.I.P. MJ.🌹🐺

What type of weirdo would find something to dislike about this much talent from a young man at this time?????

Probably the weird surreal backstory behind the Jacksons 5, at least that’s what my sister thought of em

I had one of those during the Seventies. Then a Jheri curl in the Eighties...and then a Fade in the Nineties. Those days are behind me now!

I had a very impressive afro and I simply loved MJ. He was my idol as a child and remained one his whole life, but when I look back at pictures of my with my fro and my MJ jacket, the first thing I think of is who is the white kid with the blonde afro? Then I wax nostalgic about what that man meant to me and still means so much to me today. I am now bald, as well.

It's 2023, and I'm looking at these videos and in parallel at the video This is it, and my heart bleeds, it hurts so much to understand that we will no longer see Michael's smile, in which happiness and joy are read. I was born 2 years after Michael's death, it hurts to realize that you won't be able to see him, hear his voice, and now you can only see it on TH-cam and on TV, it's very painful, it's unbearably painful. He will always remain in our hearts. I am writing this through tears of pain because you will never see him again. To this day, he is the best singer, NO ONE can compare with Michael. Almost 15 years have passed since his death, and he is still remembered, loved and mourned for his death. He left too soon, but I believe he's alive. Michael, we love you, soft clouds for you, you were too kind to our world, our world was not worthy of you, Michael. I am sure that right now you are looking at us with God. Pleasant dreams, soft clouds to you ❤😖😭💗
