Allie, this was a remarkable hip sequence. I often find yoga classes for the hips to be quite aggressive, or that there is a need to warm up beforehand. But this was so gentle, yet 100% efficient. Will come back to this one over and over again for sure!

My mom was just diagnosed with cancer, and it's taking such a toll on her and the whole family. I caught myself carrying so much worry and tension in my hips, and this practice helps me to soften not just the hips but my body and soul.

This sequence makes me very happy! I just started doing yoga (first video I have ever fully completed) and I feel great! I have really tight hips and this first try at it felt amazing! I would love it if Allie would mention some modifications for those who cannot do some of the poses exactly the way she does. One example, for the crossed leg poses (not all of us can do this), maybe offer a suggestion to still do the stretch with a modified crossed leg pose?
Hi Rita! Thanks for stepping on the mat with me today. I'm sorry that some of these poses were uncomfortable for you. It's always a good idea to understand why you're feeling discomfort, so speaking with your doctor or a physical therapist to check these movements is a good place to start. These modifications are generally useful, but do not necessarily fit everyone's needs. Easy pose: if it's not comfortable to have the legs crossed, extend the legs in staff pose. You can also try placing a bolster or blanket under your hips to provide some space & place blocks under your knees to encourage the legs to relax. Cow-face pose: place a blanket or bolster under the hips & see where your body allows you to move. If there's any pain or impingement, come out of the pose. Seated spinal twist: keep one leg extended & bring the heel of the bent leg towards the hips, as opposed to crossing it across the extended leg's thigh. I hope those help. xx

I'm grateful for this . . for some reason my left top inside leg keeps ceasing up. At the beginning of the class I couldn't sit cross legged and had to modify the beginning postures. By the end I could sit comfortably cross legged again ❤️❤️
A must have practice. Good airport routine before a long flight. So damn sweet needs to be at the start of the title. Idk why it took me so long to find this video.
Hi Maria! I'd say everyone has their own unique breathing tempo and if your breaths are deeper/slower that's not a worry. It may interrupt your practice, but you're always welcome to pause the video so you get 5 full breaths at your pace. ❤️
