PCP FINANCE FIGURES: BMW M140i 5dr automatic £343/month, £5000 deposit on a 48-month contract with a 10,000-mile-per-year allowance (January 2019) **Deal correct at time of publication. Everyone’s financial circumstances are different and credit is not always available - Parkers cannot recommend a deal for you specifically. This deal is an indicative example of a package available this week.
Whether it’s good value to you personally is, of course, a subjective point. However, when judged in comparison to other deals available from rival manufacturers, the M140i is, in relative terms, good value.
Ive had mine a week now...fantastic car. Easy and smooth around town and yet if required can be a real playful thing. Im getting more than 30mpg amaing for a 3.0 turbo engine
I'm currently driving the M140i while here in the UK. It is one of the most fun vehicles I've ever driven. It's extremely well balanced and it's really quick. The Michelin Pilot Super Sports provide tons of grip. If I could buy this in the US, I would be at the dealership as soon as I get off the plane. Unfortunately, it's not offered in North America.
Great summary. Fabulous car and that engine is a gem. Very sad news that next gen 1 series is going FWD/4WD, the combination of excellent engine, gearbox and RWD were the main reasons I chose mine 😭
Good review and reminder these cars will disappear pretty soon. I loved my M135i and having a straight 6 rear wheel drive car hatch was a good Box to tick. I would mention the economy and I would get near 40mpg on long trips which is ridiculous for the power. Would say it’s more of a small GT car than hot hatch. Performance bargain of the century!
I think I probably paid too much but still it was £23k with a decent part ex price. It has 15k on the clock and some options like blacked out windows, adaptable suspension etc. Quite a bargain for what you get. Exhaust rattles a bit on start up though.
I just bought a new M240i x drive! My reasons were I got to choose my interior, paint color, wheels etc! Also new car warranty, and piece of mind the car was broken in properly, and taken care of from day 1!👍
Part exchanged my E46 M3 for a new 140i in May 2017 when they were still under the radar, now pretty common and appear to be chavved to death sadly. The 140 is a good car and it’s straight line performance is right up there in its defence but it’s handling is a bit wayward when pushed on. End of an era for RWD cars perhaps ?
The best performance car around pound for pound by a country mile! I'll tell you one thing for nothing, it's certainly putting down more BHP than the claimed power output from BMW. It's extremely understated. I've got a brand new 5dr auto Shadow Edition and it's faster than a all of its rivals from Germany and the omnly one with a 3litre engine and rear wheel drive. The Merc A45 AMG, A35 AMG, Audi S3 & RS3... the M140i just walks away from them in the real world from 30mph, it's an absolute animal of a car. It is a lot quicker than my old 4.2 V8 Audi S5.... same power output as S5 but about 300 kg lighter! Proper wolf in sheeps clothing! Real head turner in Estoril blue.
@@manny95g check this video out mate. Food for thought mate. It's certainly quicker than this RS3, skip to 4:28 to see from a rolling start. Cheers th-cam.com/video/3GAXEIPf9a4/w-d-xo.html

Arman thanks for the reply, how many miles does it roughly register for a full tank? I currently do 20,000 a year so I might have to opt for a diesel as I don’t want to be paying £350 a month on petrol ☹️
Too powerful for the first car. You better start with 2L cars (under 200hp). Don't forget that this car is RWD. 340hp is a lot for a RWD car and especially if driver is not experienced.

There is nothing like a turbocharged 4WD, end of story. BMW learnt that from the Japanese, 20 years late. Glad they are finally catching up; the cars are once again competitive and fun. No if they can just get them reliable it would be really great to own outside of the warranty.
@@unassailable6138 Why would anyone buy a normally aspirated version of a car if the turbo version is available though? Once you've drive turbo you'll never want to do without it. Once you've experienced Turbo with 4WD you know that there is no reason to ever drive anything else, as I discovered from 1986. You just need 4WD to lay that power down properly and safely on the street.
@@caribbeangtr8077 N/A cars sound better, better throttle response, more progressive linear power curve. Rear wheel drive will always be the purists choice.
