She speaks so well… this is my goal! My son of 10 yo is half cantonese and half French Canadian but trying to teach him cantonese when he can’t practice with anyone one is so … frustrating. I wish i can send him to Canton every summer. Unfortunately, all my family and far relatives had left China for 3 generations already. He is perfectly already fluent in French and English but i will persist to teach him 😅
@JingJao I am of Scandinavian ancestry, while they have their place, a mix of the two seems to highlight the best features of both. Trust me, as a dad, when my daughters were in high school and college, the phone was always ringing for them. Guys can't seem to get enough of that Asian sensation 🤣

Came here to say this!!! It's so cringey when people get it wrong. I effing hate it. So... American is a nationality and ethnicity is something totally different. So for example her father could be Taiwanese-American and then her mother was born in Taiwan. So technically she'd be ethnically Taiwanese still, just also American.

My guess is she’s saying she’s American and Taiwanese nationality wise, since Taiwanese is not a race, either.. though it is an ethnicity while “American” is not an ethnicity, either. But it can probably be assumed she’s “white” racially on the “American side”. 😅

American is not an ethnicity , it’s a nationality. You should have said my dad is white and my mom is Chinese. Chinese means both ethnicity and nationality
